DAY 1: Melbourne to Yarra Valley (65km) - Yarra Valley; a haven for nature lovers and food tourists alike. Discover acclaimed wineries like Domaine Chandon, De Bortolio or Yering Station, get closer to nature and spend some time at Healesville Sanctuary or take the journey onboard the famous Puffing Billy Steam Railway. DAY 2: Yarra Valley To Phillip Island (150km) - This morning favours the early birds; imagine a sunrise balloon flight over the patchwork vineyards followed by a champagne breakfast. Head towards the paradise of Phillip Island for the wild eco boat tour and ensure you don’t miss the little penguins, best seen up close at the Penguin Parade. Stay: Glen Isla House
DAY 3: Phillip Island To Mornington Peninsula (130km) - For a little adventure take in the region by helicopter this morning before exploring Churchill Island Heritage Farm. In the afternoon travel to the Mornington Peninsula and spend sunset relaxing at the Peninsula Hot Springs before enjoying dinner in the quaint town of Flinders. Stay: Flinders Hotel (2 nights)
DAY 4: Day At Leisure On The Mornington Peninsula - A free to do whatever you fancy; swim with the dolphins, explore maritime and military history or simply marvel at the quaint jetties & bathing boxes. Feeling active? there are many walking trails throughout the region. To reenergise there are plenty of cellar doors, cafes & restaurants; a great spot for lunch is Green Olive at Red Hill & treat yourself to some Mornington Peninsula Chocolates for dessert.
DAY 5: Searoad Ferry To Queenscliff (50km) - Catch the 40 minute scenic Searoad Ferry across to Queenscliff where you can stroll the historic township with its clifftop fort. Explore the Bellarine Taste Trail with stunning bay views as well as wine, cider, seafood & artisan beer before heading back to the city. Or if you’re just not ready for the holiday to end we’d highly recommended continuing on down the Great Ocean Road.
