For children aged 2-4 years they will join the Kitty Cat Club which includes a 1 hour private lesson and the use of skis & boots for this 1 hour duration. Beginner groups are capped at 5 kids per instructor.

GETTING THERE Self-drive just 35 mins from Tekapo Village, an easy wide access road has a gradual gradient to the base of the resort, daily shuttle service is available from the village, the shuttle leaves town at 8am and departs from Roundhill at 4:15pm.
HOT TIP If self-driving, stop along the lakefront on the way down to watch the sunset over the turquoise Lake Tekepo, snow covered Southern Alps and Aoraki Mt Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand. SIMPLE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS How well do I have to ski to go Heli-skiing? Ideally you are a strong intermediate skier/boarder or better, with a sense of adventure. Harris Mountains Heli-Ski has exclusive access to extensive terrain including easy rolling terrain for powder first timers, wide open bowls and challenging chutes with steep valleys for the more experienced. You’ll be part of a group of four led by a guide who is committed to your safety and enjoyment of this alpine environment. How does the Heli-ski day work? After an early morning weather check, we collect you from your accom & take you to the staging area. Start with a safety briefing covering avalanche transceivers, helicopter and mountain safety, before flying off to the first heli-ski run. All groups meet for a alpine buffet lunch with time to relax. The afternoon is back to the ultimate - more heli-ski runs.
Do I need powder skis? No but the new wide body powder skis will assist you to ski even better, we can recommend a variety of hire equipment retailers.
How long are the runs? Run length varies depending on the terrain and snow conditions. Our exclusive terrain offers runs that vary between 2000 and 2500 vertical feet of treeless skiing in sheltered basins, bowls and wide rolling mountain flanks through to steep and gnarly chutes.
What do I need to bring? You will need to bring your skis/board or hire equipment & warm clothing - a windproof jacket and pants, warm gloves, sunglasses or goggles and sunscreen. The day is spectacular, so bring a camera to capture your heli-ski day.

SNOW SEASON Ski conditions are an act of nature and totally beyond our control. Generally the New Zealand ski season operates from mid June to the end of September. Ski Express takes no responsibility for late starts, early finishes to the ski season or snow quality and conditions. All ski products are non transferable and non refundable.
Ski Express strongly recommends that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy at the time of booking. Your Travel Agent will be able to advise and assist you with this. Cancellation fees charged by Ski Express will not be waived under any circumstances, where travel insurance may have covered you.
BAGGAGE All baggage and personal effects are, at all times, at your own risk. Any excess baggage charges are the responsibility of the passenger.

Ski Express and its associated companies and their employees are not liable for: (a) Any event beyond their control, including (but not limited to) war, disturbance, fire, flood, unusually severe weather, act of God, act of government or other authorities, accident or failure of machinery or equipment, or industrial action (whether or not including Ski Express/ANZCRO employees): nor (b) Any act or omission whatsoever (whether within or outside their control) in relation to any booking, contract, travel, accommodation, excursion or other holiday services (including the carriage of baggage) which results in any direct, indirect or consequential loss, damage, death, injury, delay, liability, additional expenses or inconvenience. (c) Ski Express does not own or operate any tour product or service listed in this brochure. Ski Express is a tour wholesaler who arranges the provision of the products & services listed.
