中加合作办学介绍 荷兰学院地处加拿大爱德华王子岛,是加拿大三所获得 ISO9001认证的学院之一。荷兰学院在加拿大及中国有 全日制学生约3,400人,另有成人教育学生约5,800人。 荷兰学院创建于1969年,并以“能力本位教育”为基 本教育理念。学院一直提倡实施以技能为导向的教育方 法,并通过能力表现来评估学生掌握的知识。这种教育 方法在今天的中国具有一定的影响力,因为目前中国的 教育改革正在致力于要求高等院校提高教学质量、效率 和着重技术培训,以支持中国新经济发展。 荷兰学院通过实施加拿大社区学院合作项目在中国已有 超过20年的工作经验,学院一直努力帮助中国合作高校 开展以企业带动能力本位教育的教学。我们在中国赢得 的良好声誉,不是因为我们的规模,而是因为我们采用 的教育方法。 与我们合作的中国院校认识到能力本位教育的人才培养 模式与传统的教育模式有所不同,应该在下一步的教学 过程中重点培养学生的动手能力。荷兰学院与中国院校 的合作办学采用“3+0”的办学模式,学生三年都在中 国学习。强化学生英语应用能力和使用原版教材是合作 办学不可或缺的内容。学生在学习期间要参加课程设置

要求的实习以获得行业经验。在此模式下,学生完成三 年学习后将获得中加两校颁发的双文凭。如果学生有兴 趣,也可以在中国完成一年或两年后来荷兰学院完成剩 下的两年或一年的学习。 截止2015年9月,大约1,200名中国学生分别在成都工 业学院、江苏镇江高等专科学校、海南职业技术学院、 河南许昌学院、河南安阳师范学院、江西理工大学南昌 校区、江西上饶师范学院和贵阳职业技术学院学习荷兰 学院的相应专业课程,专业包括汽车检测与维修技术、 工商管理专业(商务经理方向)、计算机信息系统、计 算机网络技术、学前教育、机电一体化、高尔夫球会管 理、酒店管理和市场营销与广告管理专业等。江西省新 余学院也即将开展中加合作办学项目。 2010年荷兰学院与中国的合作伙伴在加拿大爱德华王 子岛举办了合作办学十周年纪念活动。在过去十多年期 间,中加班毕业生就业率达到百分之百。今年是合作办 学15周年,荷兰学院邀请所有中国合作伙伴再次前来加 拿大爱德华王子岛共同庆祝这个特殊的日子。中加合作 办学项目无疑取得了巨大的成功,值得我们认真总结经 验,我们同时也更期待中加合作办学美好的未来。

Canada-China Educational Joint Venture Overview Located in Prince Edward Island, Holland College is one of only three ISO 9001 certified colleges in Canada. Approximately 3,400 students attend Holland College programs in Prince Edward Island and China, and an additional 5,800 individuals are enrolled in adult education and continuing education programs.
the Chinese students who complete their three-year study in China will obtain dual diplomas from their participating Chinese college and Holland College. Individual Chinese students who are interested in studying overseas have an opportunity to study at Holland College after one year (1+2) or two years (2+1).
Holland College was founded in 1969, with a focus on the philosophy of competency-based education (CBE). To this day, the college continues to emphasize skills-oriented training, and assessment of knowledge through performance. This approach has appeal in China, where reforms to the education system are pressing for colleges to improve the quality and relevance of their programs to support the country’s new economy, with its emphasis on skills training and efficiency.
As of September 2015, there are close to 1,200 students enrolled in the Automotive Technology, Business Administration Business Manager Profile, Computer Information Systems, Computer Networking Technology, Early Childhood Care and Education, Electromechanical Technology, Golf Club Management, International Hospitality Management, and Marketing and Advertising Management programs in Chengdu Technological University, Zhenjiang College, Hainan College of Vocation and Technique, Xuchang University, Anyang Normal University, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology Nanchang Campus, Shangrao Normal University, and Guiyang Vocational and Technical College. New partner, Xinyu University, will commence the EJV program soon.
Holland College has nearly 20 years of experience working in China on a number of institutional development projects such as the Canadian College Partnership Program (CCPP). The college has been committed to helping Chinese colleges develop industry-driven competencybased education. The college has gained a reputation in China not because of its size, but because of its approach. The Chinese partner colleges recognized the need and value of implementing a training model that was different from the traditional teaching model – hands-on training. The Educational Joint Venture between Holland College and the Chinese partner colleges is implementing the “3+0 in-China” delivery model. Under this model,
In 2010, Holland College and its partner colleges in China celebrated the 10th year of the Educational Joint Venture. Over the past 15 years, 100 percent of our EJV students were employed by the time they graduated. This year is the 15th anniversary of this project and Holland College welcomes all of our partner colleges to visit Prince Edward Island to celebrate this special occasion. As we reflect on the advancements that we have made together, we look forward to what the future will bring.

Chinese Partners: Profiles and Programs Holland College signed the first EJV agreement with five Chinese colleges to jointly deliver the Computer Information Systems (CIS) program. Chengdu Technological University (formerly known as Chengdu Electromechanical College) and Zhenjiang College are still active partners. More programs and more partners were signed between 2000 and 2015. Chengdu Technological University (CDTU) is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Founded in 1913, CDTU currently has 10,000 four-year full-time students and more than 700 staff members. The institution currently offers Holland College’s Computer Information Systems and International Hospitality Management programs. Zhenjiang College (ZC) is located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. Founded in 1912, Zhenjiang College currently has 8,000 full-time students and more than 650 staff members. The institution currently offers Holland College’s Computer Information Systems, International Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing and Advertising Management and Accounting Technology programs. Hainan College of Vocation and Technique (HCVT) is located in Haikou, Hainan Province. Founded in 2000, HCVT currently has 11,000 threeyear full-time students and more than 400 staff members. The institution currently offers Holland College’s Golf Club Management, Business Administration and Marketing and Advertising Management programs. Xuchang University is located in Xuchang, Henan Province. Founded in 1942, Xuchang University currently has 24,000 four-year full-time

Anyang Normal University is located in Anyang, Henan Province. Founded in 1908, Anyang Normal University currently has 25,000 fulltime student and 1,300 staff members. Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Nanchang Campus (JUST) is located in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. Founded in 1958, JUST currently has about 5,100 full-time students and 300 staff members. The institution currently offers Holland College’s Electromechanical Technology, International Hospitality Management, Automotive Technology, and Accounting Technology programs. Shangrao Normal University (SNU) is located in Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. Founded in 1958, SNU currently has 16,500 full-time student and 1,000 staff members. Guiyang Vocational and Technical College (GVTC) is located in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. Founded in 2007, GVTC currently has 10,000 full-time students and 540 staff members. The EJV partnership supports Chinese instructors to visit Prince Edward Island for three months to receive training in Holland College’s program delivery and quality management systems. During their training, instructors audit courses related to the programs they teach in China to gain knowledge and skills in course planning, teaching strategies, resources and assessment techniques. Instructors also participate in professional workshops and attend English Second Language training classes delivered by Holland College staff. They get a detailed look at the CBE methodologies in action, methodologies which they will in turn employ in their own classrooms upon their return. Opportunities are also available for cross-cultural instructor to instructor support and relationship building. In addition to their full training schedule, Chinese instructors are invited to immerse themselves in the “Island way of life” by experiencing and enjoying our hospitality. This includes activities such as visiting staff members’ homes for supper, participating in local tours and celebrations, and attending sports and cultural events. Over 100 Chinese instructors have been trained at Holland College since 2001.

As an essential element of the EJV program, each year Holland College instructors travel to EJV partner institutions in China to deliver core courses to the Chinese students. Over the past fifteen years, over 60 Holland College instructors have taught in China, delivering numerous courses covering a wide range of subjects. The EJV courses are delivered in English by the Holland College instructors, which gives the Chinese students the opportunity to improve both their general and industry-specific English skills. Holland College instructors use CBE methodologies in the classroom, familiarizing the students with the hands on, skill-based educational model employed in Canada. Holland College’s commitment to programming and teaching excellence in Canada and China is supported by ISO quality policies, procedures and processes. A Holland College curriculum consultant team visits Chinese partner colleges on an annual basis to conduct program reviews. The program review includes touring campuses and learning environments, observing class delivery, and meeting with students, faculty, and management. The annual reviews and ongoing communications enable Holland College and the Chinese colleges to learn from each other and address areas for program improvement and modification.

EJV Best Practice Forum
荷兰学院十分重视教学质量及以学生为中心教学。由於 不是所有负责任教中加班的中方老师有机会前往荷兰学 院接受教师培训,因此我院定期在中国举办中加合作专 业研讨会。自2004年起,我院先后在四川省、江苏省、 河南省及海南省举办了五次研讨会。研讨会提供负责管 理和教授中加班行政人员及老师互相交流和分享成功的 机会。研讨会的目的是深入探讨如何在中国课堂里应用 能力本位教育(CBE)教学方法,对中加双方老师增强 教学能力起了关键作用。超过300名中方教职工参加 了过去五次举办的研讨会。
Holland College attaches great importance on the quality of programs and prioritizes student centered learning. Due to the fact that not all the Chinese instructors who are responsible for teaching the EJV program have the opportunity to receive training at Holland College, we provide teacher training to Chinese instructors in China on a regular basis. Holland College held five EJV best practice symposiums held in Sichuan Province, Jiangsu Province, Henan Province and Hainan Province since 2004. The symposium creates networking opportunities for the EJV administrators and instructors, giving them the chance to exchange their management experiences and best teaching practices. The purpose of the symposium was to explore the use of methodologies, particularly CBE (Competency Based Education), in the Chinese classroom. It was an extremely rewarding experience for both the Holland College participants and the Chinese partners. Over 300 Chinese staff and faculty had participated in the past five EJV best practice symposiums.

中加合作办学英语演讲比赛
自2009年起荷兰学院设立中加合作办学奖学金, 奖励成绩 优异的中加班学生。2009至2015年期间已经有超过150 名中加班学生获此殊荣。
英语是中加班专业的共同语言,为激发中加班学生学习 英语兴趣、提高英语综合技能、培养调研能力,促进中 加班教师和学生互动交流并分享英语教学和学习心得, 在2010年荷兰学院与各合作院校首次举办中加合作办学 英语演讲比赛,每所院校选派两名中加班学生参赛。
Canada-China Educational Joint Venture Scholarship In 2009, Holland College established the Canada-China Educational Joint Venture Scholarship to award to EJV students with outstanding academic performance who volunteer in their communities. In 2009-2015, over 150 students received this honor.

The EJV English Competition All EJV programs start with an English preparatory year to ready students to study in English. In 2010, Holland College and the Chinese partners held the inaugural EJV English Speaking Competition. The competition encourages EJV students to improve their English; enhances their competency and research skills; creates networking opportunities for Chinese instructors and students; and facilitates the exchange of best practices in English institutions. Each Chinese college selected two EJV students to participate in the EJV English Competition.

I’m Tang Xiaotao. I graduated from the Electromechanical Technology program of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Nanchang Campus. I am now working at ST Microelectronic. It’s a sino-foreign joint venture company. Thanks to Holland College’s program in China, I learned the skills that are required by the electronic industry. If I hadn’t taken the program, maybe I would still be living in a poor village, unable to find a good job instead of in a metropolitan city, Shenzhen, one of the earliest special economic zones in China. I’m so happy with this job in the bustling city. I look forward to developing my career in this field and achieve great success in the future.

My name is QiaoYujing. I participated in the EJV Business Administration 2012 class. I am now working at the Sun Education Corporationin Anyang City. Sun Education Corporation was established in 2002 and has eight branches across China. It has been named Best Private Education Institute for the last three years. The EJV Business Administration program provided me with an opportunity to learn through up-to-date North American teaching methodologies. The program broadened my vision and now I apply the skills that I learned to my job. As I am now working in the education field, my job requires me to be a great team player, mature, deep thinking and diligent. I must also have good communication and problem solving skills. These skills are exactly what I learned in my program. I really appreciated and benefitted a lot from taking the EJV program at Anyang Normal University.
QiaoYujing, 2012 Class Business Administration Program, Anyang Normal University I realized that I had graduated from the EJV CIS program a one year when I was asked to write a testimonial. I have begun my career in a computer game company (Tian Shang You Jia), and I am responsible for PHP programming. Taking the EJV CIS program influenced me in two ways: 1) I got to know a group of nice classmates; and2) I learned a lot of IT skills that have enabled me to have a solid job. I am able to work in Java, PHP, graphics and design. The only downside of my study is that I learned so many basic skills it took me a year to figure out what I wanted to focus on. I had to motivate myself to learn independently. I really appreciated my instructors, who gave me a lot of advice and assistance on the subject related matters. It enabled me to obtain all the skills required as a programmer.
