CONTEMPORARY OVERCOATS Not to be confused with the top coat, which is shorter and lies above the knee; overcoats are generally long and worn well below the knee or to the shin. As the term suggests, an overcoat is the outermost garment, worn over a suit or dress and more often, made from heavy woollen fabrics. A traditional overcoat is worn in the autumn and winter months when the need to be warm is important.

This collection includes a selection of classic and contemporary fabrics ideal for both menswear and womenswear.

Included are a selection of shades in a lambswool Melton quality, perfect for the classic ‘British Warm’ military styled overcoat.

To counterbalance the classic military theme, we have included a more contemporary look which includes wool, mohair and alpaca blended fabrics with surface finishes, providing different textures, looks and handle. These fabrics are perfect for an overcoat that requires more volume. A fuller garment, reflects the fabric’s drape, handle and unquestionable beauty.
