Whipcords A whipcord is a dense fabric in the warp direction, having more threads per inch than the weft. When the weft is inserted, the weave structure forms a steep bold twill line, giving the cloth its character. Whipcords traditionally lend themselves to pursuits associated with the outdoors.
Cavalry Twill A cavalry twill can be identified by a steep doubletwill formation with pronounced weft grooves between each twill line. Fabrics woven from a cavalry twill construction were traditionally worn by the military but today, they are a great choice for outdoor country sports and for casual city attire. Serge A serge has the same number of threads in both the warp and weft directions so when woven, the twill line runs from left to right at a 45-degree angle. Traditionally serge cloths were used by the military because of their ability to withstand harsh wear. Today, a serge fabric is considered to be more versatile, making it the ideal choice for core pieces. CLASSICS
