CLASSIC & CONTEMPORARY OVERCOATS
The traditional overcoat is generally long, more generously cut than its counterparts, and worn well below the knee or to the shin. As the term suggests, the overcoat is the outermost garment designed to wear comfortably over a tailored suit, and is often made from a heavy woollen fabric. Being heavy in weight, the overcoat lends itself to the autumn and winter months when the need to feel warm outdoors is essential.
In contrast the topcoat is lighter in weight, generally more fitting and worn to, or just above the knee. Whilst the peacoat; suitable for more casual occasions, fits the body more snuggly and sits comfortably around the hips.
This versatile collection includes a selection of classic and contemporary fabrics that lend themselves beautifully to these three styles and more, offering a variety of outerwear options for many different occasions.

CLASSIC OUTERWEAR OPTIONS
The Chesterfield
Takes its name from the Earl of Chesterfield and is traditionally constructed in a heavyweight woollen cloth. It displays a black velvet collar and is long in length with very little styling or shape.
A more modern take on the Chesterfield is tailored with waist suppression created by side seams and darts and is much shorter in length. It can be single or double-breasted, although the single is more often preferred, displaying a fly front to conceal the buttons.
The Crombie
Constructed from a heavyweight woollen cloth that is exceptionally thick and dark in colour. It is singlebreasted with a notched collar and slash pockets. This style of overcoat is now one of the most popular city coats.
The Covert
Traditionally a classically brown or fawn country coat made from a densely woven fabric displaying a steep twill line. Because of its style and comfort, it has become widely accepted for city wear. A covert coat generally has notched lapels, is short in length with a centre back vent, has two flapped pockets and is single-breasted with a fly front. The collar can be made from the same fabric as the coat or from a contrasting one to compliment.
We advise that all cloths are cut one way. Due to the natural composition of the fibres used to create the luxury fabrics in this collection, we cannot guarantee shade continuity. Therefore some shades may differ to what is illustrated. For information on our bunch sustainability, please refer to our online report: bit.ly/hs-sustainability
