OCEANIA

Oceania is a collection of lightweight summer jackets inspired by the oceans and ocean beds that lie deep beneath them.

This season we introduce a new range of blended fabrics with 2% Elastane. Elastane offers a multitude of qualities that enhance the fabric’s overall performance, comfort and wearability. Garments retain their shape and their overall appearance is preserved. Unforgiving crumple zones are reduced and sagging elbows become non-existent.

We enhance the collection further with a series of rigid fabrics woven from a blend of luxury natural fibres. Each fabric represents the absolute epitome of luxury and embodies the very essence of bespoke tailoring. Delicate hues of blue, teal, turquoise, warm tans and coral, feature in this comprehensive collection of contemporary checks, windowpanes, semi plains and bold textured stripe designs.

The delicate use of colour, texture and considered design reflect the true glory of this collection, making it one of the most sought-after collections this season.

CAPE HORN LIGHTWEIGHT

Produced from Patagonian merino wool, this collection is a must-have for those who demand quality, performance and comfort from their fabric.

A region of the South American continent, Patagonia is a sparsely populated area unspoilt by humankind. Its earthy and unpolluted environment provides nutritional vegetation and an abundance of fresh water for its native wildlife to thrive. It also provides the best grazing conditions for raising some of the world’s finest merino sheep.

A cleaner environment guarantees a cleaner and brighter fleece that requires less processing, thus safeguarding the quality, strength and performance of the merino wool. High-twist fabrics are perfect for warmer climates as they wick moisture away from the body keeping it cool and dry.

✔ High-twist fabrics are durable, breathable and comfortable to wear.

✔ High-twist fabrics are crease resistant allowing them to travel well; whether in a suitcase or whilst being worn.

✔ High-twist fabrics have remarkable tailoring properties allowing tailors to mould the fabric and tailor with ease.

✔ High-twist fabrics are the perfect choice for travel suit attire.

This comprehensive collection of classic and semi-fancy designs are the perfect addition to any wardrobe, especially for those who frequently travel the globe.

Super 100’s High-Twist Worsted Suiting

SUMMER IN THE CITY

A new range of high-performance, classically styled suiting fabrics woven from Super 120’s wool worsted blended with Teclana®. Teclana® is an exclusive technical fibre developed by Holland & Sherry, combining the natural benefits of wool with the technical advantages of Teclana®. It boasts the following properties:

✔ Ultra-fine Teclana® is finer than most delicate silks.

✔ The soft sheen and lustre of the fibre give the fabric a luxurious handle and look.

✔ Teclana® offers good insulation and allows the body to breathe, making it comfortable to wear.

✔ Teclana® has a natural wicking action that keeps the body cool and dry in warm climates.

✔ Teclana® blended fabrics are not prone to pilling.

✔ Teclana® blended fabrics tailor well and hold their shape.

✔ Teclana® blended fabrics are not prone to creasing.

A wool-blended fabric with Teclana® benefits from all of the above properties, with the added benefit of Super 120’s merino wool. Its natural crimp creates pockets of air, allowing for movement and manipulation when tailoring, and natural stretch for added comfort when being worn.

For this collection we have created an intimate blend of Teclana® with a 17.5 micron wool, spun to the finest count possible, creating a more competitively priced fabric that has the same handle and weight normally associated with fabrics woven from finer micron, more expensive wools.

ROYAL MILE 1976

The “Royal Mile” is located in the heart of Scotland’s historic capital city, Edinburgh and is the name given to our collection of luxury Super 140’s suiting fabrics. It is one of Scotland’s oldest and most famous streets, and is the link between Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The name implies that the distance between the two buildings is one mile, however the reference is to one Scots mile, which equates to 1,976 yards (1,807 m) rather than an imperial English mile which is 1,760 yards (1,609 m).

In line with tradition, the collection contains a range of classic weaves: herringbones, sharkskins and micro patterns, glen plaids, pinstripes; and plains.

Offered in classic suiting colours of greys, blues and browns, this is the perfect all-season suiting for the distinguished individual.

Our classic high-quality collection of Super 140’s merino worsted suiting is well-deserving of its prestigious name “Royal Mile 1976”.

Interesting fact

In one average suit length measuring 3.5 yards (3.2 m) there is approximately 47,474 yards (43,410 m) of yarn; the equivalent of 27 journeys between Edinburgh Castle and The Royal Palace of Holyroodhouse!

GOSTWYCK LIGHTWEIGHT

The quality of Gostwyck merino fibre is the result of over 180 years of expert selection of merino sheep producing finer, softer and whiter wool. Today the producers of the Gostwyck wool produce merino which is finer than most cashmere, and has been scientifically tested as the most comfortable natural fibre.

Animal treatment

With a three-day rotational grazing system in place, animal stress is eliminated and the use of harsh chemicals minimised. Pastures grow naturally to maximise high quality nutrition and sheep remain healthy and well nourished, and remain free from parasitic invasions.

Environmental sustainability

Major changes to grazing practices have seen a steady increase in the sustainability of soil health, pasture and water quality. The environment and ecology greatly benefit from these state-of-the-art grazing systems.

Sustainable merino productions

A balanced ecology and healthy environment have taken many years to accomplish. Careful and patient management has allowed the Gostwyck farm to implement sustainable grazing practices that benefit the environment, improve the eco-system and provide the best possible nutrition for the welfare and health for the Gostwyck sheep.

This collection is fully Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified. Products certified to the Responsible Wool Standard contain wool fibre from farms (independently) certified to animal welfare and land management requirements.

As the industry evolves Holland & Sherry strives to be consistently accurate with our quality control, ensuring our products are genuine and of the most superior quality.

SUMMER ASCOT

Summer Ascot is an all-wool range, comprising contemporary checks and windowpanes, suitable for both business and casual attire.

Benefits of choosing a fabric from Summer Ascot:

✔ All fabrics are woven from a plain weave construction making them the perfect choice for the summer months.

✔ The plain weave construction produces a fabric much lighter in weight than those woven with a conventional twill.

✔ The construction and weight keep the body fresh and cool in warm climates.

✔ For many, at 250gm the fabrics in this collection are the ideal all-year-round choice for most climates.

✔ The wool micron is 20.5μ providing strength and durability.

✔ The yarn used is a 60/2 new metric yarn in both warp and weft directions allowing for a full, well-rounded handle. This bold handling yarn also lends itself to good drape and crease resistance properties.

✔ These qualities allow the fabrics to be tailored with ease, and makes them a pleasure to wear.

CRYSTAL SPRINGS

Crystal Springs luxury jacketing for Spring/Summer 2023 is an updated collection of window-pane and mock glen-check designs in a range of attractive colours, including fashionable, contemporary tones that complement the familiar classics.

Woven from a plain weave or a twill construction in compositions of wool, silk and linen blends, we are certain that this collection of luxury jacketing fabrics will suit all tastes.

Ingeniously, when the blended yarns are dyed, each yarn reacts differently to the colour impressed upon it. The result is a unique palette of harmonious hues that when woven together and expertly tailored, produce a collection of statement pieces for a fresh and striking summer look.

Wool-silk-linen blends produce fabrics with a crisper, more textured handle, and an inherent charm that is synonymous with a relaxed approach to bespoke tailoring.
