While Miami is the U.S.-based business and financial capital of Latin America, and therefore the center of the field for expansion into Cuba, there will continue to be a need for assistance in navigating Washington, D.C., as long as the U.S. government continues to restrict trade with Cuba. Holland & Knight’s Cuba Action Team includes several seasoned international trade regulatory lawyers in our D.C. office. Ron Oleynik and Jon Epstein have strong working relationships with the key regulatory agencies and have been advising clients around the country and globe on how the U.S. government regulates trade, and how best to maneuver the regulations as they stand. Holland & Knight has substantial trade regulatory experience and knowledge.
JON EPSTEIN WASHINGTON, D.C.
Because the opening of Cuba will be an incremental process, companies need to develop a strategic plan as to how and when to enter the Cuban market. Holland & Knight’s deep, experienced bench of talent, along with its Latin American focus, is a great ally on which to rely. Attorney Oleynik is admitted in the District of Columbia only. Attorney Epstein is admitted in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland only.
