Our Christmas and New Year Tours offer excellent value taking into account the additional cost of providing Staff, Hotels and Entertainment during this time of year. Most of the Hotels we use are business Hotels and some key members of staff may be missing to be with their families. Therefore, some part-time staff may be used and their systems will not operate on an individual basis. Hotels arrange their own Christmas and New Year Packages which we contract to take part in. During this period all excursions are subject to safe weather conditions. No refunds will be given if we are unable to operate our excursions. In the event of Christmas Markets not being confirmed, delayed or cancelled, we will still visit the destination (If safe to do so) as advertised on our itinerary. Many Christmas Markets charge high prices to book our Coaches in for setting down and parking. It is essential therefore that strict times are observed. At busy Christmas party times, we may have Dinner arranged in a Banqueting room instead of the main Restaurant. This brochure was compiled in May 2019 and therefore all itineraries are subject to change. These points should be taken into account before booking.

23 DECEMBER

CHRISTMAS EVE

Morning departure to Cornwall and the delightful seaside resort of Looe. Here we arrive at The Portbyhan Hotel with a warm welcome followed by Dinner and Christmas Carols. A Cornish cooked Breakfast and then a short journey to the Fishing Village of Polperro. We return in time for a light lunch and in the afternoon – A festive Quiz. Tonight a Christmas Eve Dinner is followed by Entertainment.

CHRISTMAS DAY

An English Breakfast and time for a stroll through the decorated narrow streets to the sandy beach. A traditional Christmas Lunch is served with a glass of sparkling wine and a visit from Santa himself.

Morning departure to join our ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight and to The Queensmead Hotel. Part of the enjoyment here is the excellent home-made food, take your reserved seat and enjoy Dinner. English Breakfast in the Restaurant and then we depart for an Island excursion taking in the resort of Ryde, the capital - Newport with time for lunch and finally a visit to the lovely village of Godshill. Tonight Christmas Eve dinner is served followed by entertainment.

CHRISTMAS DAY

In the afternoon – Tea, Cakes and Games are available. A Buffet is arranged tonight and Live Entertainment.

After a cooked Breakfast, why not take in a morning Christmas service at the local Church. There will be a Drinks Reception and then a superb traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Relax in the Hotel and enjoy the Festive TV and the Queen's speech this afternoon. Tonight the Queensmead present their Yuletide buffet followed by entertainment.

BOXING DAY

We return to Looe where afternoon Tea will be waiting. Our last evening with a 3 Course Dinner and Entertainment.

27 DECEMBER

After a relaxed Breakfast today we take you to Padstow at Christmas. This lovely Cornish harbour Village is decorated with Christmas Lights and offers charming Pubs, Cafés and stunning views – We include a packed Lunch.

A holiday Breakfast before we include a return journey on the nostalgic Isle of Wight Steam Railway from Havenstreet Station. We travel back to the Queensmead for a light Lunch and then free time in Shanklin, or simply relax and prepare for Dinner. Entertainment is provided once again.

27 DECEMBER

Our final Breakfast as we say farewell to the Queensmead family to join our return ferry service and travel back to the West Midlands.

Lunch time departure to the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa near Blackburn in Lancashire. Here we arrive at this once Manor House where you can unpack in your comfortable bedroom.

Breakfast is served Buffet Style, before our departure to Yorkshire and the Historic Village of Haworth – Home of the Brontë Family. Here we join a Nostalgic Train Ride for the short journey to Keighley. From here, we travel to the Dales town of Skipton – Famous for its Castle and attractive High Street. At the Florida Park you will enjoy Dinner each evening with a Special Gala Dinner on Christmas Eve. There will be a traditional Christmas Day Lunch served with Sparkling Wine and a daily Brunch Buffet – Served from 8am until 12noon!

After Breakfast this morning, we take you to delightful Maastricht – The home of Andre Rieu. The Town is decorated for Christmas and you can explore its Fine Shops, Restaurants, Cafés and normally their Christmas Market. Here the Christmas Market is normally open on Boxing Day so that you can enjoy all the festive attractions and Yuletide chalets. This evening, the Winnock present their Boxing Day Candlelit Dinner with Scottish Ceilidh Music, plus your normal complimentary bar – A grand finale!

Enjoy your final Scottish Breakfast as a piper bids us farewell with a hot toddy, before our journey back to the West Midlands.

Morning departure travelling to Torquay where we arrive at the Headland Hotel. Once you have settled into your room, join your fellow guests for Drinks in the Gallery Lounge where you will meet the Management Team. Your reserved table is waiting in the Restaurant for your Candlelit Dinner followed by Live Entertainment.

A full English Breakfast before our included excursion to the Market Town of Totnes. We return in time for Lunch served at 1pm. We offer a Transfer into Torquay or an afternoon free for a stroll, or to enjoy the hotel facilities, plus a Quiz and afternoon Snacks and Tea. Here you can take in some of the well-known sights such as Windsor Castle and Park, the River Thames and the famous High Street stores.

Morning departure travelling to Cornwall and the lovely resort of Looe. Here we arrive at the friendly Portbyhan Hotel where we stay on our 4 Night New Year Programme, starting with Dinner this evening.

There are plenty of choices for a tasty lunch or snack in the many Restaurants, Cafés and Bars. We return well in time to prepare for tonight’s New Year Celebration. It’s a Black Tie event and we meet for a Champagne and Canapés Reception.

It was here in the Magnificent Cathedral that part of ‘The Philosophers Stone’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ was filmed.

Afternoon departure to Swindon West and our Doubletree Hotel. Settle in before your included Dinner. A fresh English Breakfast buffet before we leave for Southern Wiltshire, making a short stop at the Historic Village of Lacock. We then continue to Longleat where we include admission. Take advantage of all the sights and attractions, the House, Gardens, Cafés and of course our tour through this original Safari Park with fantastic wild animal views. The highlight of the day will be the magnificent Firework Display that takes place at 6:30pm.

Morning departure making our way to the Historic Inland Port City of Gloucester.

We then continue to the World Famous City of Oxford. Oxford has some Incredible University Buildings that can be associated with Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! These include the Great Hall – The inspiration for Hogwarts Dining Room, New College and Christchurch.

We return to Ypres where we include admission to the 'In Flanders Fields Museum' in the town centre. It is an Award Winning Museum that tells the story of the First World War and the terrible loss of life in the surrounding area. At 8pm we witness ‘The Last Post Ceremony’ that takes place every night at the Menin Gate. We then return to Bruges.

Morning departure calling at the Blacksmiths visitor centre, Gretna Green, before continuing to the Loch Lomond area and The Winnock Hotel in the lovely village of Drymen. The Hotel is a former 18th Century Coaching Inn offering traditional Scottish hospitality and freshly prepared local food. Here we stay for four nights with a 3 Course Dinner provided each evening.

TUESDAY

Enjoy a full Scottish Breakfast. Today we include a wonderful excursion travelling through stunning countryside, passing Lochs & Glens to Inverary and then calling at the historic village of Luss on the West Bank of Loch Lomond. We return to the Hotel where we include a delicious Cream Tea. Tonight, Dinner and Entertainment. All Dinners include a complimentary glass of wine and we provide a free bar of house brand drinks each evening from 7:30pm until 10:30pm.

WEDNESDAY

Morning departure to the South Coast to join our short Ferry Crossing to the Isle of Wight. Soon we arrive at the Bembridge Coast Hotel where you can settle in, relax and discover the excellent facilities. Dinner with reserved seating starts your stay in style, followed by Entertainment and a complimentary bar.

TUESDAY - THURSDAY

Enjoy fine food in the Restaurant for both a traditional Breakfast and choice menu Dinner and the special Inclusive Drinks! Cheers! During your stay, take advantage of the full programme of events or just relax in the Hotel.

A cooked Breakfast before we depart to the amazing City of Glasgow. We are normally joined by a local guide for a tour of the historic sights, followed by some free time for shopping and lunch.
