welcome to our May market! It’s been a little while since our pop-up shop in January we’re really looking forward to getting back into market mode with an event full of fresh new designers and cosy autumnal products we’re proud to present. The exhibitor list for this market shows off the incredible diversity and talent tucked away on the island… illustration, leatherwork, ceramics, jewellery and artwork will all be showcased at our May event; we so hope you can join us in supporting the local creative’s who work so hard to produce them. Look forward to seeing you there,

the who, the what & the why... the market is a boutique art + design event, showcasing independent Tasmanian designers, makers and producers, held in the intriguing Masonic Temple, Hobart. Since its inception in 2009, it has become widely known for its exciting line up of exclusively local labels, along with its firm focus on authenticity and craftsmanship. With an impressive collection of exhibitors from a wide range of disciplines, visitors to the market can expect to see established fashion illustrators sitting alongside small scale producers of bespoke ceramics. A very particular approach to stallholder selection ensures that while exhibitors are vastly different in almost every way, they all have a common thread; creative talent, a demonstrated integrity in their business ethos and original thought in their design process. Alongside co-curating the market, Holly & Shannon both have experience in running successful small businesses of their own and bring to the market their skills in graphic design, journalism, advertising, creative writing, psychology and marketing. This helps them to provide exhibitors with a platform, valuable exposure and a reach for their products that extends beyond market day.
