Member of the Month Jennifer Santos is September Member Of The Month for Clark HS Key Club because she strives for greatness. Every event I see her at she works diligently and very precisely; never leaving out a single detail. I admire her work ethic and the service that she does for key club. Not just that but she has a passion for spirit. She has earned the position of Spirit Head and has become such a fantastic leader in the club. I have seen her grow enormously in the course of only a few weeks, and I know she will grow more throughout all the years in key club. -Andrew Cruz

Sandwich Making / R T C Prep First of all, I came a little bit late so I was only able to make two sandwiches. After making sandwiches, we went straight into the RTC prep. It was really great going over all the cheers and working with everyone! It was a hassle getting everything perfected, but we did it. I loved having my friends cheer me on while I was yelling cheers alone to show how it was done. These RTC preps really get me, along with everyone else, pumped for RTC! I’m so excited. -Joshua Cho

Ride for Kids The ride for kids event was an experience I'm glad I didn't miss. During this event, we learned about the affects of Pediatric Brain Tumors on children. Before this, I didn't realize the large imprint this disease leaves behind. Seeing the countless motorcyclists supporting this foundation that raised over thousands of dollars helped me realize that although a dream may be far, it's never impossible to reach. I was extremely happy to pump up the excitement of the motorcyclist and children along with serving them a well, deserved lunch. I look forward to what this foundation can achieve. -Alexis Acob

Veterans Family D
The Veteran's Family Day in the Park was extremely fun. Our club was able to interact and give back to those who have served our country, which is always a truly rewarding experience. We made and handed out cotton candy and popcorn, as well as helped sign in families when they arrived. After the event ended, we cleaned up trash around the park. Hopefully our club will be able to participate in this event again next year! -Elissa Gray 8

Car Wash for Children
This year, our car wash was a huge success! The move to a different location was a good choice since we raised over $500 for the Children's Miracle Network! I am so proud of the amount that we get to donate to such a deserving cause. Jamming out and washing cars is definitely one of my favorite things to do with key club. I hope that our car washes continue to accumulate the success that we did in this one! -Elena Llanes

During RTC, I loved listening to the presentations the LTGs gave because it let me know so much more about key club which is what I wish to strive for. All the LTGs are so amazing and funny. For me, there wasn't a dull moment listening to them. Lunch was of course delicious because the sandwiches were bomb.com, but it was honestly extremely disappointing that there weren't any service projects. Then there was all the spiriting, the cheering, and the spirit battle. #RTC2014; Clark Key Club, I am so proud of you. We cheered our heart outs, we cheered our throats out, and we cheered all the way to the spirit stick. Words cannot explain the feeling I felt when we won the spirit stick. You've made this RTC unforgettable. Thank you all for all the hard work you've put in to make this one of the best RTCs ever. Every single one of you is amazing and I love you all from the bottom of my heart. We deserved this and we worked hard for it so never let anyone tell you otherwise. Chargers, we made it. -Elena Llanes

Out of all the events Key Club holds each year, RTC just has to be one of my favorites. Just seeing hundreds of students gather in one gymnasium to celebrate service and learn more about the wonderful K family makes it all the more special. I got to listen to amazing workshops led by the LTGs of Region 5, as well as cheer my heart out for my club. Our cheers echoed, our stomps shook the ground, and Clark Key Club was able to win the Spirit Stick for Division 28 West! We definitely made Clark history and I am so proud of all of our club. -Issabella Chang

RTC was a phenomenal Key Club event! We cheered, we laughed, we ate, and made history. I am so thankful of everyone pouring and cheering their hearts out. RTC is definitely one of my highlights especially for my final year in High School. In the end, that Spirit Stick WAS ours! -Kevin Rodas 14

This was my first RTC I have attended and I have to say it was an amazing experience. Waking up at 6:30 was not fun, but it was all worth it as it felt like a school day except 100x cooler. Learning about Key Club and what it was about helped me in my first year as the LTGs explained what it truly means to be a part of this club. Also, other opportunities of service after high school were presented allowing me to think of future plans such as taking part in Circle K International. After all the learning, spirit filled the air as many clubs were in a single gym and were being as loud as they can to show their pride for school and Key Club. Excitement was present and provided me with a very happy feeling as I cheered to my highest point. Spirit battles and cheers were consistently being done and made a very memorable experience. At the near end of the event, it was competition time as all the clubs gathered in the quad and wanted to show their spirit. For 28 W, it was a tough battle and the tension had caused everybody to be jittery and restless during the discussions of the LTGs. Though, when the LTGs called out “Ed W. Clark as the winner of 28 W division, our club was jovial about the winning of the spirit stick and continuous excitement went on for the rest of the event. RTC was a very nice, phenomenal experience for my first year in Key Club and I would go again at any chance. Jeffery Segelstrom
