Lily Lisa The Amazing
The Secret To Her LUCK Is Hard Work & A GOOD HEART! By Anthony Ewart 6 • HOLLYWOOD MONTHLY
L
ily Lisa is a Philanthropist and Fashion Icon but we can't stop there! They call her "Lucky Lily" and she proudly wears that title -but, with all due respect, it's not just "Luck," Lisa. The office wall of Lily Lisa is full of commendations. Her valiant, compassionate efforts have earned her multiple honors including a certificate from the Mayor of West Hollywood. Let's add to that the We Care for Humanity’s “Woman of the Year of Asia” Award. And on top of those accomplishments let's also mention Lily Lisa has been named The Charity Awards “Honorary Ambassador,” and the “Ambassador of Hong Kong, China” by The World Networks. If you're not too overwhelmed by reading about the all the wonderful accomplishments of Lily Lisa here's one more: she also received two Certificates from US Con-
gresswoman Judy Chu (Congressional Recognition of Woman of the Year. Clearly the accomplishments of Lily Lisa have to be credited to more than mere luck. This, however, is just observing her philanthropic efforts -let us not forget Lily Lisa is an ARTIST, through and through. She has an unparalleled sense of aesthetics steeped in traditional Chinese beauty cultivated over hundreds of years. At an early age Lily realized her passion for fashion would become her métier. Lily is motivated to share her love of fashion to inspire women to reach their personal fashion goals. Her Lily Lisa Brand includes cosmetics and Skin Care as well as one-of-a-kind gowns and specialty accessories. Initially Lily Lisa was a fashion model
and actress. She moved to Hollywood to work in the entertainment industry, developing her skills to include both producing and directing. Lily Lisa has won numerous awards for her documentary “As Always Stay By Me,“ and, of course, for her charitable work. She is also known as an actress and Red Carpet Host. Lily shines the light as an ambassador with a vision, not only in the Hollywood community but also by touching lives and inspiring others to “always follow your heart and do your best.” These beautiful personality traits and loving care reveal who Lily Lisa really is. Just as in ancient times "All Roads Led To Rome" for Lily Lisa "All Roads Lead Back To HUMANITY and COMPASSION." Over time, Lily Lisa has developed a special relationship with the Hurun Luxury Brand and has twice been
named “Most Elegant Lady” as their Ambassador at the World Polo Championship. She continues to work closely with the Hurun Reports events honoring well-known Chinese entrepreneurs, executives, artists, designers and authoritative media respected in their field. Today, the Lily Lisa Brand has signature pieces worn by notable celebrities. She has developed the finest natural products for her Lily Lisa Skin Care Line and created mineral make-up for the cosmetic line -- all of which can be found in her eponymous Beverly Hills Store "LILY LISA COLLECTION" which had its Beverly Drive grand opening on February 18th, 2020. US Congresswoman Judy Chu sent a personal note of congratulations for the Lily Lisa Collection grand opening.
Lily Lisa, has many interests, but she is often seen feeding and talking to the homeless in Los Angeles and anywhere in the world that she travels. In Lily's own words as to why Charities are important: “I truly believe that successful people have a duty to give something back to society. Working on philanthropic projects has been so rewarding to me. A single act of kindness has a rippling effect.” Mademoiselle Lily Lisa has gained a respectful position within the Hollywood glitterati promoting Asian contributions to filmmaking. She believes it is a win-win for the cooperation of Asian-American partnerships. You can add "Social Activist" to the long list of things important to Lily Lisa. She is so passionate about giving back to her community to combatting the disparate treatment they may receive. HOLLYWOOD MONTHLY • 7
Inspired by Lily Lisa’s passion for fashion and beauty, her clothing, cosmetic and skin care brand is intertwined with the glamour of romance of the gowns in the Lily Lisa Collection. Combining the elegance and the extraordinary beauty of the evening gowns makes perfect sense for special events, parties, ballroom and Tango dancing.
ed fashion for women to feel beautiful and confident in the clothes they wear. Once again, the glamour gowns are custom made and also available to rent. There are many unique and one of a kind items available to pique your interest at the Lily Lisa Collection.
As Lily notes "Today’s woman is conscientious about her health and appearance. With that in mind I've made 'all-natural products' which is the perfect choice for sensitive skin. Lily Lisa's Cosmetic line, made with pure moisturizers and minerals, is the ideal companion product to achieve that flawless look. The Lily Lisa Collection boutique offers handpicked and curat-
Despite her many accomplishments Lily Lisa is a very humble person. An average day for her starts in the morning with a gym workout and spiritual time. A devout Buddhist, Lily prays daily and often visits a local temple. As I said at the beginning of this article, Lily Lisa is known throughout Hollywood and the Beverly Hills community by the nickname “Lucky Lily,” but as you now have read, "Luck" for Lily Lisa is a simple formula of Hard Work, a Good Heart -- and an AMAZING EYE for Fashion!

FASHION is PASSION Natalia Spivak
I seemed to have been born with a love for fashion. My mom and two of her sisters had an amazing taste and designed stunning stylish dresses for themselves using a sewing machine at home. Vogue, Burda was my favorite magazines since childhood. Using kids sewing machine I even created my own designs for Barbies. I think fashion is a big addiction. My passion took me forward and I selected media career as a fashion journalist. I leaded topics about fashion and regularly attended Fashion Shows and glamorous Red Carpets. At this luxury events life introduced me to many celebrities, actors, film directors, singers. This area became my comfort zone and it was fun and easy to do interviews with celebrities for magazines. One day I received a call from one of the top newspaper with offer to become a special correspondent for them in energy and politics topics. Since that time I have done interviews with Ministers, Prime Ministers, Ambassadors, Presidents,

politicians from different countries, top business leaders like Sir Richard Branson, Anthony Scaramucci, Dr. Edward Bosarge. These articles were many time the most viewed front page publications. Now I cover different topics worldwide: economics, energy and politics. And especially for Hollywood Weekly Magazine back to my favorite passion what is fashion. I agree with Miuccia Prada:”What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language.” Stay tuned for new styles and fashion I'm going to introduce you to rubric Fashion is Passion: the best designers from fashion weeks in New York, London, Paris, Milan, and exclusive fashion from Dubai and Hong Kong Fashion weeks with one million dollar gowns. It is going to be hot.

Jen & Brad’s Honeymoon Mansion T
hough not much has been said lately about the possibility of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt getting back together again now that they’re both single, the drop-dead-gorgeous home they bought soon after they were married in 2000 for $13.5 million, and owned together until one year after their 2005 divorce, has just sold. The 11,173-square-foot home, originally built in 1934 for twotime Oscar-winning actor Fredric March as one of the first movie star mansions in Beverly Hills, came on the market last year listed at $56 million. The price was lowered over time but didn’t sell and was taken off the market when it reached $44.5 million in March. It finally sold for $32.5 million in an off-market deal, more than double what Aniston and Pitt originally paid for it.
12 • HOLLYWOOD MONTHLY
Jen and Brad’s love mansion is nestled into a bit over an acre on a quiet cul-de-sac with gated entrances on two streets, five bedrooms and thirteen baths between the main house and a one-bedroom guest house. Formal rooms are large with the dining room capable of seating 20 guests and the bar room with its original fireplace, eat-in gourmet kitchen and gym. The lower-level living room and bar-screening room open to the swimming pool terrace. Grounds are tropical and thick with mature greenery. Much of what exists inside and outside the house today was thanks to Jen and Brad. Soon after they bought the home in 2001, the super couple began a three-year renovation replacing the kitchen floor with heated marble, designing and installing a pub with floors sourced from a 200-year-old French château and adding a private screening room. They also added a tennis court and pavilion with a guest house on the upper level. In January of 2005, their separation was announced and the home sold in 2006 for $26 million to hedge fund executive Jonathan Brooks, who completed the renovation and added some features of his own. Having owned the home for 14 years and not counting the cost of his own changes, his profit on this sale was approximately $6 million. Susan Smith of Hilton & Hyland was the listing agent and representing the buyer were Justin Huchel and Drew Fenton who are also with Hilton & Hyland.

Azura Skye Swerving into a powerfully emotional role By Alex A. Kecskes
Azura Skye as Holly in The Swerve Known for her pivotal roles in the horror-mystery One Missed Call, the comedy-drama 28 Days, and the crime-drama Bandits, Azura Skye is an accomplished actress with an impressive repertoire of work in film and TV. A Los Angeles native, Skye began her career in the theatre as a child and segued into film and television in her teens. She has since performed in a wide variety of films including Red Dragon, Heaven’s Fall, and Wristcutters: A Love Story. In 2006, Skye appeared as Skyler in the comedy series The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman. Her work in television includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer, House M.D., The Mentalist, and Girls. 20 • HOLLYWOOD MONTHLY
In 2015, Skye appeared in the indie Take Me To The River, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Most recently, Skye landed recurring roles as Helen McGantry in the long-running TV fantasy-drama series Charmed, and as Darla in the mystery-drama series Riverdale. Fans will remember her as Sandy Engel-Karinsky in the comedy series Working the Engels and as Fiona in the horror-drama series American Horror Story. In the chillingly taught drama, The Swerve, Skye is Holly, a teacher and emotionally bruised mother of two on the precipice of mental illness.
Thank you for taking the time for this interview. The Swerve is an emotionally charged film about a damaged woman under siege. What attracted you to the role of Holly? Azura Skye: It’s just what you were saying. The role of Holly is an actor’s dream. You wait a lifetime hoping you’ll get a role that’s as challenging and emotional and complex as this one. When given the opportunity, I don’t know how you say no to a film like this. I’ve been doing this for quite a while and Holly is definitely the best role I’ve had in my life so far. I saw it as a real gift. Did you audition for the role? If so, what was that like? Skye: I did. Initially, the filmmakers expressed some interest in me. They reached out and sent me the script. I liked the script very much and I loved the character. Then we chatted on the phone and that seemed to go well. After not hearing from them for about a month, I was told that they really liked me and that they were still thinking about it. At that point, I sent them an audition tape in the hopes of persuading them. So that, I think, pushed things over the edge. What did you draw from to so convincingly portray a woman in the midst of emotional collapse? Skye: Thankfully, I didn’t have to draw from real-life experience. I’m not the traumatized soul you saw in Holly (laughs). To be honest, I don’t really know what I drew from. For me, a big part of portraying Holly was opening myself up to something larger than myself. Almost getting out of the way for something else to come through. There’s no way to prepare for a character like Holly. There’s only so much you can do. Much of it simply involves showing up for the day and making yourself available to her. There were several especially powerful scenes in this film. Which was your favorite? Skye: As an actor, the really emotional ones are the most fun. For the last scene in the grocery store, I woke up excited to go to work that day. There’s also a rather pivotal and heart-wrenching scene with the boys. It may sound a little weird but for an actor, that’s the fun stuff. You rarely get to do that. As actors, it’s what we dream about, scenes that present real opportunities. While we’re just playing, at the end of the day, those scenes were really traumatic and tough for me to watch. Was there an actor or film that drove you to pursue an acting career? Skye: There were lots of things that drew me into acting. As a child, I grew up without a television and I didn’t watch a lot of movies. The only time I’d watch any TV shows or movies is when I went to my grandmother’s house. I’d watch old Rodgers & Hammerstein Musicals and old Bewitched episodes. Elizabeth Montgomery was the big thing back then. I also watched Shirley Jones Musicals. I remember thinking that Shirley Jones was so beautiful and brilliant in Oklahoma.
Azura Skye What have you learned about this business that surprised you? Skye: That’s a good question. I suppose, that it’s not one continuous trajectory. It’s not like your career starts at some point and just keeps getting better and better. Like any career, there are ups and downs, valleys and summits. And that’s all part of the journey. I’m in it for the long haul. You have to be to endure those paces. I would imagine you get a ton of scripts. What do you look for in a script and role? Skye: It needs to be interesting and compelling with good writing. But it can be about any character or any scenario. Had you not gone into acting, what career would you have pursued? Skye: Perhaps some sort of linguistics. I really enjoy language, dialect. I do write, so I would have done that. I was a dancer for a long time, so before I wanted to act, I wanted to be a ballerina. I don’t know, sometimes I think I could have been a dermatologist. What were you like in high school? The girl most likely to….? Skye: Leave (laughs). I left high school early when I started working at fifteen. And after I started acting, that’s all I wanted to do. So I became more autodidactic and self-taught. I was determined to educate myself. When I was in high school, I was gone a lot—doing plays, films, and TV. So I kind of disappeared from school.
Bryce Pinkhamn as Rob and Azura Skye as Holly
How did you balance school and work? Skye: I only had a couple of years of crossover. But it was hard and very challenging. I went to a very rigorous school, so it was like having two full-time jobs. HOLLYWOOD MONTHLY • 21
Brazilian Cinena
& OUR 10 MOST IMPORTANT FILMS
BY FABIO GLINGANI
B
razilian cinema is more than software for mobile phones, home theaters, and half-empty movie palaces. Brazilian cinema is the art, the history and the culture of an entire country. Brazilian Cinema reflects the diversity of Brazil itself. It dramatizes, displays, and recreates the historical moments in the life of a vast, magnificent and important nation on a rapidly spinning sphere, the one we call … the third planet from the sun. Our Brazil is a nation of continental dimensions and presents itself in many languages, in 10-Thousand diverse cultures, 500-Thousand sweeping landscapes, and 100-Million Lifestyles, all of which are constantly recreated with digital integrity, video creativity, and heart-felt film at 24 frames per second. Brazilian Cinema is the visual encyclopedia of who we have been, who we are now, and what we dream of becoming one day. It shows us our dreams, our reflections, and it constantly reminds us of our past, our struggles, and all of our hopes. Brazilian Cinema is our link to the future, and our lifeline to the past. It is the record and the reminder of a nation’s soul. Today, we can look at Brazilian Films that are 100 years old, and somehow it explains … who they were yesterday. And we are today. 100 years from now, people will look at our Brazilian Cinema, and they will learn far more about who we were, and about what we felt…than they ever knew. And from those same images they will understand far more about our lives, than anything they could learn from any book they will ever read. Art is often defined by the tools an artist works with, or the elements he or she uses. Is it paint, is it clay? Is it charcoal or pencil? Is it oil or water based paint? Is the style modern, surreal…impressionistic, traditional, abstract, cubist or Pop Art?

Rodrigo Santoro (Heleno) Cinema also has a similar plurality. It has a thousand different styles to evoke 10-Thousand different moods. Especially Brazilian Cinema. The styles and tools of our artists are as endless as our Brazilian Culture. The list that I have drawn for you; barely scratches the surface of the depth of our incredible film history and vibrant Brazilian Culture. Rather than trying to present the hundreds of films that represent the depth of our remarkable cinema, I will focus on 10 different perspectives from our vast film history, as we travel down the cinematic tapestry of Brazil. 1. The Pagador de Promessas (1962), written and directed by Anselmo Duarte, is based on the play by playwright Dias Gomes. This film was the winner of the Palme d’Or for best film at the Cannes festival and nominated as best foreign film at the 1963 Oscars. 2. Pixote - The Law of the Weakest (1980), directed by Hector Babenco; produced by José Pinto and Paulo Francini), is inspired by the book “Infância dos Mortos,” by José Louzeiro, brought the Italian neo-realistic language to Brazilian cinema, presenting
exquisite works of acting such as Marília Pêra, who can be compared to an actress of the quality and versatility of Maryl Streep. It tells the cruel story of childhoods stolen by crime in one of the largest economic capitals on the planet, the city of São Paulo. It was Nominated for the Golden Globe Award as the best foreign film. The film was acclaimed by international critics. 3. Gabriela (1983), a film directed by Bruno Barreto, produced by Harold Nebenzal and Ibrahim Moussae is based on the novel by one of the greatest Brazilian writers, Jorge Amado. That motion picture brought to the screen a landscape quite different from any other Brazilian film. Located in Bahia in the 1920s, it presents the splendid natural beauty of this region of the country and the actress, Sônia Braga, who projected herself into the world after incorporating the bold “Gabriela” on the big screen. Sônia settled in the United States and became Robert Redford’s wife after being directed by him in The “Milagro Beanfield War”. That film marked a painful transition for Brazil which faced more than a decade of virtually no productions after the government incentives for cinema ceased.
The great resurrection of Brazilian cinema, was the return of government aid laws for productions, took place in high style, with the film “ 4. That stunning film sealed the end of the black era of cinema in Brazil and it showed the world that Brazilian films had high production camera movement, editing and truly poetic script styles. That film, was one of the most important of all times. It was praised by critics, and it changed the Brazilian paradigm. It was nominated for four Oscars including, best director, best

The incredible poetry of Central do Brazil conquered the world. That film was nominated for an Oscar for best foreign film and Fernanda Montenegro was nominated for the award for best actress (Oscar) and best dramatic actress (Golden Globe). adapted script, best editing and best cinematography. Another milestone of “Cidade de Deus” was its pre-production process which ran over more than 6 months of intense cast preparation ended up training more than 200 actors in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro and served as an impetus for that theater and acting schools that were established in the communities of Rio de Janeiro. All of this remarkable effort gave a surprising realism to all the characters.
5. O Auto da Compadecida (2000), in the comedy genre, directed and produced by Guel Arraes, brought to the screen the allegorical language of the most famous book by the writer, playwright and novelist, Ariano Suassuna was translated into more than 5 languagesworldwide. That Brazilian film was the highest grossing film of the year … and it proved how much Brazilians truly love their comedies. From then on, Brazil, again had many productions of extreme quality. 6. Cidade de Deus (2002), inspired by the book of the same name by Paulo Lins, directed by Fernando Meirelles, co-directed by Kátia Lund and produced by Andrea
7. Vestido de Noiva (2005). That stylized work was based on the talents of Nelson Rodrigues, one of the greatest connoisseurs of human passion in the world, with his comic touch that is often compared to the style of Woody Allen. It was directed by the son of the writer, Joffre Rodrigues and produced by Frederico Lapenda. The film shows the beauty and charm of the city of Rio de Janeiro at the beginning of the 20th century, which attracted the attention of tourists from all over the world. It is considered the best adaptation, for the cinema, of theater plays by Nelson Rodrigues, and brought again the impressive performance of Marília Pêra.

8. Tropa de Elite (2007) arrived, showing the activity of the special forces battalion in Rio de Janeiro, charged with brutal undertaking of stopping drug trafficking. Directed by José Padilha and produced by Marcos Prado, the film was favored by the public and obtained box office records. The protagonist, Wagner Moura, became globally recognized and competed for the award for best drama actor in the Netflix series “Narcos”, and was part of the cast of major productions, such as “Elysium”, directed by Neill Blomkamp. 9. Sequestro (2010), directed by Jorge W. Atalla and produced by Frederico Lapenda and Christian Ghudegast, achieved quite a difficult task that is worthy of the viewing of film enthusiast. It infiltrated, in an unprecedented way, the activities of the Police’s Antis sequestration Department civil society of São Paulo (DAS), showing how the division’s precise and highly trained work was able to dismantle the “kidnapping” industry that was born from the metropolis’ drug trafficking. That intense documentary won the Best Documentary Award at the Beverly Hills Film Festival and was on the short list of Oscar nominations. 10. Minha Mãe é Uma Peça 3 (2019) reinforces the concept that Brazilians truly love their special brand of humor and comedy. Paulo Gustavo, creator of the script and lead actor, based on his play “Homonima” which achieved huge public and critical success. Paulo Gustavo became one of the most praised comic actors and broke the biggest box office records in Brazil. The first film, directed by André Pellens and produced by Camila Medina and Iafa Britz, gave rise to three sequels, with the incredible record mark being surpassed in each one. Minha Mãe é Uma Parte 3 is among the highest grossing films ever recorded in Brazil. There are many more films and talented film makers that should have been included on this list. Frederico Lapenda (Sequestro) and Bruno Barrento (Gabriela) to give the reader a tour through my own personal cinematic eye. And through my years of cinematic experience. My sole intention is to show you the great and versatile creative quality that exists in Brazilian Cinema. Our unique language of film has already projected several names to the entire world, like Alice Braga (actress), Rodrigo Santoro (actor) Frederico Lapenda (producer), Fernando Meirelles (director), Carlos Saldanha(director) and many others. Brazilian cinema promises to project itself even more under the command of Mario Frias, who took over the Special Secretary of Culture of the Federal government of Jair Bolsonaro. Mario comes from the entertainment industry as an actor, presenter and singer, he has a broad view of the medium and strong ties to the best international productions, especially from the renowned Hollywood community. “It is my true belief that this is the best time for you and the world to understand and truly value the extraordinary quality and diversity of Brazilian Cinema.” Mario Frias. It is very likely that many of these and our newest productions …. will be far more present in the largest film industry in the entire world: that of the USA.

Joseph Maldonado otherwise known around the world as “Joe Exotic” is America’s choice as an Independent Candidate for the 2016 Election of President of the United States. Live Life
ecently, I’ve been thinking a lot about my future and my goals like many have during this pandemic. Most of us can’t wait to get out there and start living again after Covid19 stops wreaking havoc on people’s lives. This entire situation has made us realize that we need to live every second to the most. But for some, it will take a little more than a pandemic to live like they want to. Under the influence of the people around us, teens get peer pressured into liking or disliking something, to creating or breaking relationships with others. Just the way we live can be completely turned around by someone who should not or does not have a valid opinion.
Based on social norms and the standards held in our society, we tend to do things that make us miserable. For example, in my community, students take extremely hard courses and come out of high school with a 4.5 GPA and anxiety. Meeting the goals of everyone around is not worth mental illnesses and late nights of work with no sleep. As I said in one of my previous articles, the hardest thing we need to achieve is acceptance. Not acceptance by others, but acceptance by ourselves, including our goals and whatever future we want and have planned. After all, we are our hardest critiques. 30 • HOLLYWOOD MONTHLY
A number of years ago, my music teacher and I were talking about life in general. He talked about the number of jobs and adventures he had and how he was completely stress-free about all of it. Then, a couple of weeks ago, my friend said something that really stuck with me. She said “live life”. I don’t know why, but this phrase gave me a completely new perspective about everything around us. Many teens burden themselves with past memories or future worries, unable to relieve these stresses. Whether it’s being nervous about an upcoming test or having an argument with a friend, we really are experts in bringing ourselves down. Instead of that, we should be enjoying our lives and forget about the things that are not important. A technique to completely de-stress is to start every day with a deep breath and a clean slate. I do this to not think about the issues holding me back from having a good day and being motivated to complete all the tasks I have planned. Every single day is an opportunity to do things we love. I look at every day as if it’s a new chapter so that I can live it to the best, filling my hours with experiences that I enjoy and moments that make me for-
get about the burdens I carry. If there is an instance where something does go wrong, I stop and ask myself the question “Will this be important to me in five years?” Bringing myself to think about the effects of the unwanted situation allows me to keep my priorities in check and move on. We are still in our youth, after all. We can do whatever we want with our time. There is no point in spending our hours doing something that does not make us happy. We just need to live our life to the fullest. Most of us are only starting our journey. Instead of worrying about our daily struggles, we should be excited about what our future has to offer. Remember our fears prevent us from growing. Working on what we want to, being who we want to be, and living life how we want should be our goal. I am writing this article in the hope to inspire you to look at the world differently as I do. To help you love life, be happy and “live life”.

STANZAS 1 THROUGH 24 PART ONE: Lawrence Finds His Rusalka (Stanzas 1 through 8)
STANZA SEVEN
STANZA ONE
She spoke in a whisper: "Why do you want to die?" Lawrence stared in her dark eyes and started to cry. "Don't ask me questions let me tell this world goodbye." The Rusalka thought 'Is this really my first guy?"
He was a physicist like his hero "Feynman." And like Tesla found himself alone in the end. Sitting on a bench feeding bread to Jenny Wren. Daydreaming of "Rusalka" killing him again.
STANZA EIGHT STANZA TWO In front of a lake he watched the orange Sun set. He'd come for three months hadn't seen Rusalka yet. But tonight a distant shadow caused him to sweat. Did she crawl out from the lake his beautiful threat?
The one perk for Rusalkas is killing a man. Rusalkas are all doomed spirits that's their lifespan. Suicide from love is how their nightmare began. Killing someone 'already hurt' was not her plan. PART TWO: Leticia the Rusalka (Stanzas 9 through 16)
STANZA THREE
STANZA NINE
Lawrence gripped the bench the air chilled him to the bone. A woman came with black hair born to be windblown! Her skin a 'Grey' he doubted "E. L. James" had known. Her eyes Black Diamonds from some Museum on loan!
Leticia Gutierrez was a gorgeous girl. Intoxicating black hair eyes like a black pearl. Leticia was a Salsa Queen to see her twirl! And then a man spun her life on a hell-bound whirl...
STANZA FOUR
STANZA TEN
Her full length coat of feathers was raven or crow. 'I'm not "Charlie Parker" either way it could go.' Black ankle-strap heels and grey toes with a white glow. Her eyes a 'Solar Eclipse' shot from a crossbow!
The first man to break a woman's heart hurts so much. You've crushed the goodness she thought this world had to touch. Women are born believing in goodness and such. Men take that away and place their life in a clutch.
STANZA FIVE
STANZA ELEVEN
"How...," Lawrence began, "How will we...you...it happen?" She smiled so pretty Lawrence felt himself 'pulled in.' His body was 'yanked up' and walked like misshapen! "This is it," Lawrence closed his eyes with a faint grin.
Leticia knew her love would never stop cheating. 'A new boyfriend NO I don't care how entreating.' 'My body will be seen no more this was fleeting.' Then she killed herself after a prayer meeting.
STANZA SIX
STANZA TWELVE
Lawrence stopped walking, frozen, inches from her face. ...Was he dead, Lawrence opened his eyes just in case. Pretty black eyes, pretty smile, 'grey skin's' out of place. Her thick black hair still blowing with slow-motion grace.
As a Rusalka Lawrence should be her first kill. But seeing him cry made Leticia lose her will. Soon she'd have no choice but Leticia had "Soul" still. Helping him might be the last good thing to fulfill.

In darkness Leticia whispered, "Look at my feet." Lawrence peeked at her grey toes glowing like white heat. "It's all that's left of my Soul soon I'll be deplete." "Let's talk about women who die and men who cheat."
"My name is Leticia, what do you call yourself?" "...I guess Self-Deprecation's what I call myself." Leticia laughed, "With that confidence who needs wealth?" "Come back," Leticia said, "Friendship will help your health."
STANZA FOURTEEN
PART THREE: Lawrence and Leticia the Rusalka (Stanzas 17 through 24)
They moved from under the trees and felt the Moonlight. Lawrence walked on his own and just stared at her sight. Leticia's black feathers glorious in the night! Her skin was grey but her pretty smile had teeth white.
STANZA SEVENTEEN
STANZA FIFTEEN Leticia spoke her eyes on the Moon on the lake. "When you die there are many facts that you intake." "I turned my back on the world because of heartbreak." "I betrayed the Moon now I'm forbidden daybreak."

Lawrence wobbled from the lake his body shaking. His legs were jelly the Earth seemed to be quaking. The chilled air proved it was no dream this was waking. His Rusalka didn't kill she was breathtaking. STANZA EIGHTEEN The traffic light colors were so bright that they hurt. Lawrence's senses were alive fully alert. He saw the true world now before he'd been inert. He met a Rusalka...she let him leave unhurt.

STANZA NINETEEN
STANZA TWENTY-TWO
Of course the most bizarre event came at the end. Meeting a Rusalka he would not recommend. But if you do meet her be nice and don't offend. She might not kill you but tell you she'll be your friend.
Her tears came harder now but she had a child's smile. "Can I be a girl again and 'wish' for a while." "Pretend I'm not in trouble or guilty at trial." "I wish...wish I can reach you on my pillow pile..."
STANZA TWENTY
STANZA TWENTY-THREE
A group of pigeons saw Leticia and scattered. "You used to love me," she said, "I was so flattered." "Now you fly from me as if on it life mattered." "You're right to fear me, my friends, my Soul is shattered."
Showered, calm and in bed Lawrence watched the Moonlight. Leticia said they could meet on another night. 'But what if she's "changed" and her feet don't "glow" as bright?' Lawrence laughed 'Then she'll do what I came for tonight.'
STANZA TWENTY-ONE
STANZA TWENTY-FOUR
Leticia sat on a bench, alone, doomed to hell. She looked at the Moon and her eyes began to swell. "You're the one true light I see now, Mademoiselle." Tears came..."I forgot you and was trapped in a cell."
"The Rusalka..." A man invaded Leticia's space, "Girl, what's this?" Leticia said, "If you're married you'll be remiss." The man said, "What my wife don't know my wife won't miss." Leticia whispered in shadows, "Sit then...let's kiss." AE 9.9.2020 HOLLYWOOD MONTHLY • 35
