“I focus on insurance and investment services in order to help my clients protect their wealth and build wealth,” Taylor told Hollywood Weekly Magazine. “I sell financial products through my companies. I have launched five entrepreneurial enterprises in addition to Taylor Insurance and Financial Services.” At age 22 and just out of college, Taylor launched his illustrious career trajectory. He spent two years at New York Life, making approximately $55,000 and $58,000. In his third year, he nearly tripled his income. He attributes that soaring success to his pivoting from focusing primarily on selling products, to honing in on how to im-
prove his market and on approaching problem-solving one step at a time. In Taylor’s view, the key to financial success is to focus on daily goals and cultivate relationships that will be valuable throughout one’s entire career and lifetime. Over the next several years, Taylor broke records at New York Life, reaching the ranking of #1 Broker in Los Angeles (2006-2013). In addition, he was ranked amongst the top 50 agents out of approximately 13,000 in the company. He was recognized as the top producing African American agent at New York Life Insurance at that time.
