Within the hospital, she works as a physician associate, specializing in emergency medicine. Outside this fast-paced environment, she steps into the spotlight as a model and pageant contestant. Inspired by her love of building confidence and appreciating self-expression, she has sinced started her own pageant for other young women to follow in her footsteps. She makes doing it all look so easy!

From just an investor to Co-Executive Producer, Dr. Emily Letran has put so much time and money into the movie, A Fragile Flower. What happened next, you might ask? The movie has won an award in the World Film Festival in Cannes! To honor this incredible achievement, she has highlighted some of the women she wants to recognize for their unique accomplishments.

X-MEN '97

RELIVE THE CLASSIC MUTANT LEGENDS by journeying with this ragtag group of superhumans, done in the classic style of animation reminiscent of the 90's TV show. With classic characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast and many others, audiences who are new and familiar with the old-school series are feeling the nostalgia. Through this series, we are shown the classic appearances and the classic feelings of what the series from the 90's in question brought to audiences in a fresh new light.

This animated television series created for the Disney+ streaming services by Beau DeMayo, this interpretation based on the Marvel Comics truly has been considered a revival. With audiences who have seen the original series that had aired from 1992 to 1997, see this as a mere continuation and even just a simple homage from the series of their childhood.

However, the amount of love that has been provided to fans, young and old, isn't simply just seen from the visuals. With "X-Men '97", the series welcomes back the majority of the cast from the original series, and has left fans truly ecstatic to hear the voices from their childhood return. We get to hear Cal Dodd reprise his role as James "Logan" Howlett, or as fans primarily know the man as: Wolverine. We also see Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, and even Christopher Britton as the Victorian era doctor, Mister Sinister.

While some of the original cast couldn't return to their roles, we even have the talented voices of this generation to give their heart in the roles in question. There is Ray Chase who is voicing Cyclops, originally voiced by Norm Spencer. There is Ross Marquand as

Cedric Smith's Professor Charles Xavier and even Matthew Waterson voicing David Hemblen's Magneto, who had passed away before this series came to be. While some of the original cast may not be around in this series, "X-Men '97" manages to capture the magic and the epic performances that promises to help classic fans remember them well.

Whether you are a fan of "X-Men" when it was in the golden years of the 90's, or even a fan of the current generation in the 2000's, this series is for you. Even if there was some chance you never saw the original series, this series may encourage you to at least see what fans are talking about. Even with the amount of effort that DeMayo put into this series, in recreating the classic feel it delivers, will be enough to show what made it special. This series will make any fan nostalgic for the past, without question.

GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE

THERE'S SOMETHING STRANGE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD as New York City once again finds itself captured in the midst of a paranomral spectacle. However, this time, this city is found in a blistering cold that is practically similar to the ice age. Now, the Ghostbusters return to put a stop to the chilling threat that leaves them with their greatest challenge yet.

Taking place after the events of the 2021 revival film "Ghostbusters: Afterlife", we are greeted by the the new cast of characters who captivated the fans of this current and past generations. We are even welcomed by the classic heads of the company, played by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson,with actors such as Paul Rudd and Finn Wolfhard returning for the resurgence of the classic company of spectral hunters, this bonechilling tale has fans captured.

What started off as a soft continuation with the original story in "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" has spun into a resurgence in the fandom for ghostly fever. Fans who either grew up with or recently discovered the majesty of the 1989 cult classic have been feeling the hype behind this new release. This sequel to what may become this generation's "Ghostbusters", there is a definite resurgence of the fanbase.

Considering the impact that the original "Ghostbusters" had on the entertainment industry back in the late-80's and early90's, this film and the one pertaining it gave a similar rise of popularity. From the glorious minds of both the late Harold Ramis and the late Ivan Reitman directing the original, followed by the brilliant mind of his son, Jason Reitman, we can see the true love and passion poured into this series of films. Through the literal

legacy carried into the legacy of this ghost hunting company in the films, fans have found a strong desire to see just how far this new line of films and media will go from this point.

While some people will see this as a mere fanservice piece, "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" is more than that. This sequel is a continuation on the legacy that shines through this current generation, going into the point of how the path that has been paved by "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" will lead into more than just a few new films. This film will shine a light onto the majesty that "Ghostbusters" brings to the table, and while not exactly the same as it felt back in the golden years of entertainment, this helps rekindle the flame it lit in the hearts of millions. So, strap on your proton pack, because in this snowy tale, you'll need it.

GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE

THE TITANS ARE BACK AND STRONGER THAN EVER in this new story that shines a light on the two greatest movie legends of our time, with King Kong, the literal king of his own domain and Godzilla, a literal god who many know not just by name, but by the sound of his majestic cry. Through this new film, we are greeted with another dynamic battle between titans, but this time, it will be much more different than the last clash.

In this film, we are welcomed to the world and the foundation that has been brought upon the true lords that roam the Earth. With mountainous beasts that make the human race look shrimpy and completely vulerable, the wrath of these titans have remained dormant since the previous film released in 2021. However, with a new threat on the rise in the mystical Hollow Earth, Kong's new

domain, both titans who previously fought against each other with fury now must work together to quell the threat that will pose a threat to humanity.

What truly makes this film stand out isn't necessarily just the action that we have probably seen in every monster movie in the past, but rather, the characters themselves. While the human characters have their own quirks and personalities that make us fall in love with them, the titans themselves show a sense of character that we may never have considered from the start. Seeing their perspective, we see the drive, the will to fight, the emotion behind their actions, and best of all, the rage to pursue their goal in defeating the enemy in their sight.

What fans have deemed to be a newfound "monsterverse", through the creation of a world where humans aren't

the strongest animals to walk the Earth, we feel that this could be the blueprint for something really special. As things have really began to pick up from the previous clash in "Godzilla vs. Kong", fans have been both curious and hyped about where things will go from here. While nothing has been confirmed nor denyed by the director of both films, Adam Wingard, we can see that fans are rather intrigued by what else could be done with this concept.

While we can't say for certain that there's much else that can be shined on the world, for now, fans are in love with the companionship that was never envisioned until now. With where things are at so far, fans are starting to feel the draw with this concept that Wingard has brought to the table, and given the future possibilities, we look forward to seeing what comes next.

RENEGADE NELL

THIS ISN'T YOUR AVERAGE DISNEY TALE, as this story in 18th-century England has its own magic and flair. While many think of Pirates and the Carribean when it comes to the robbery scene in the olden times, this unrelated series gives a differing perspective and light to another kind of thievery that moves away from the seas. With another tale showing a slight trace of that traditional Disney magic, "Renegade Nell" has a good feel for viewers to root for the underdog in this gripping tale.

In this enchanting story that breaks from the traditional mold that Disney has followed in the past, Louisa Harland plays the role of Nell Jackson, a widowed daughter of a tavern owner who finds herself endowed with supernatural strength. While most heroes and heroines depicted in the time and place of this

story would be like your traditional sort, this tale depicts a type of hero that you'd probably see in the realms of superhero comics. This Disney tale shows that concept in the realm of an Old-English land, with a Victorian feel.

In this harrowing plot of survival and perseverance, Nell must work together with a group of her own in order to overthrow England's queen. As for how she will manage to do so, fans have found the epic journey of wonder and majesty to be a very gripping experience. The story itself blurs a fine line between the family-friendly and edgy qualities, which will leave an intriguing first impression to viewers everywhere.

While this story is indeed a work of fiction in its own way, "Renegade Nell" does take place during a time when women really did turn to roadside

robbery. With a realistic aspect paired with a not-so-realistic power such as what Nell Jackson harnesses, Disney has given viewers a look at a grim world, now with a powerful magic to combat it.

We are happy to learn that director Sally Wainwright has confirmed that Season 2's writing process has gone underway. While we don't exactly know where things will go upon this last season's conclusion, all we know for certain is that there will be a considerable jump in time for this new season's plot. Whatever will come from this new season, when it is fully announced to the world, fans are already eager to see just what will come next with Nell Jackson's story. While Disney has had a lot of work under its belt in the previous year, this series may stand out above most of them, given the reception it has garnered so far.

GOLDEN TEACHERS: The Change from ANGELENO RECORDS is Blowin’ in the Wind

Music is different now. The most dramatic shift has been in hiphop. The Sugar Hill Gang started it all with their party hit “Rappers Delight.” Blondie had the world dancing to her eccentric hip-hop narrative “Rapture,” but the The Furious Five released their somber, realistic portrayal of life in their hip-hop classic “The Message” and the genre switched gears. This song set the stage for rappers interested in songs about racism, drugs and social injustice. These artists were ultimately led back to the real foundations of hip-hop: the spoken poet Gil Scott Heron and the powerful writers of “The Last Poets.” In the beginning, these rappers learned, rhyme was about social change. This revelation led to the birth of culturally conscious rap groups, the most prominent being Public Enemy. The late 80s and early 90s saw this new racial and social awareness boom in hip-hop music, and then came the in-fighting, the diss tracks and the deaths.

Hip-hop is the only musical genre, with the possible exception of reggae, that has experienced such a mass level of fatalities and carnage among its artists. Whether it’s drug related or outright murder, the body count is tragically high. The rap scene is unrecognizable now.

The only message delivered through mumble rap and derivative, cloned beats is materialism, narcissism and classism.

Angeleno Records is a conscientious hip-hop company stepping into a world at war around us, literally and figuratively. Hollywood has finally cannibalized itself and forced actors to strike, and with the scandalous amount of unpaid music royalties to artists in the recording industry musicians and singers may do the same. In all this chaos the youth of America are essentially standing on a conveyor belt, as in Pink Floyd’s “The Wall,” slowly being dropped off into a meat grinder. Three boys who jumped off that conveyor belt at the last moment, dropping a shoe or two into the meat grinder, are Riggy Marz, El Diablo Beats and Sunny Darko, the founders of Angeleno Records. The name of their recording company is an homage to the city these men love, the City of Angels, where Riggy Marz and El Diablo Beats were born.

“In the end, the disease of addiction stripped almost everything from me. I almost quit music and the though of suicide seemed like a good idea. That’s when I started Angeleno Records, when I sobered up. I started writing a gratitude list with music and sobriety at the top, realizing I’m grateful for the good and bad because it makes me a better storyteller. As an Artist and Healer, what effect would I really have on people if I haven’t suffered through similar circumstances myself and survived? My nightmarish past has become my message and my most powerful tool in life.”

This is not a company with one mission, Angeleno Records has many missions, because these are Artists bringing back a care and concern for social injustice, or the harm we do to ourselves with drugs

Bob Dylan was a contemporary of The Last Poets, and he was an advocate for standing up to oppression when he played folk music acoustically. That all changed when he switched to electric guitar, but

a young Riggy Marz fell in love with that early Dylan. Songs like “Blowin’ in The Wind,” “The Times Are A Changin’,” and “A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall.” Dylan’s lyrics inspired Riggy to write his own poetry. Hip-hop has always been an attractive force and soon Riggy’s poetry became rap verses. He developed his own rap style based on a deep love of words, but was lured by an equally powerful force: drugs.

Sunny Darko was living an almost identical life in Sacramento California. Like Riggy, Darko was passionate about poetry and hip-hop, and in his youthful exuberance to party he discovered a sleeping disease inside of himself: addiction.

“I’ve survived drug addiction, betrayals of my closest friends, the loss of my father, as well as losing everything in a structure fire a year later. If there’s one thing I’ve learned you don’t know how strong you are until you know how strong you are. At the end of the day I just want to be a light for those still in the dark and to remind people to keep evolving, the possibilities are infinite.”

El Diablo Beats also grew up in Sacramento, and is considered by all a musical genius. He plays an assortment of instruments, including guitar, bass and most importantly for rappers, drums. El Diablo Beats completed the nucleus of Angeleno Records in the early days, creating a compelling trifecta of two rappers and a musical prodigy for their beats. One huge aspect that sets El Diablo Beats apart from many other beat makers is his vast knowledge of music. Rap, Rock, Blues, Folk, Heavy Metal, Punk, Country -- to El Diablo Beats, they’re all just different flavors he uses to create his incredible beats.

Lyricist extraordinaire Blaze Aliaz moved from Miami to Sacramento and a trifecta of emcees was born when he met Riggy and Sunny Darko. It was clear Blaze was destined to be a rapper and he was recruited into Angeleno Records. At the innocent age of eight-years old Blaze’s Mother decided to buy music albums for him from a catalogue to keep his mind active. Unbeknownst to her the albums she chose were rap classics from the second Golden Age of rap, the 90’s. Like Riggy Marz and Sunny Darko, Blaze grew up identifying himself as a poet with high standards. A hiphop connoisseur with a love for rhymes and phat beats, ready to make his literary mark in the pantheon of hip-hop music.

“If my verse doesn’t give me chills I won’t release it. It took my lifetime to get your attention. There is no time or words to waste.”

Deadbeat Donnie is originally from Akron, Ohio, and out of all the members of Angeleno Records seem s the most grateful to be able to give back to hip-hop all that he has received. I spoke earlier of the tragedy in hip-hop, but Deadbeat Donnie sees the good. He’s a beat maker, like El Diablo Beats, and like El Diablo Beats he’s historian of rap music. He recognizes that the world of hip-hop has given hope to kids as a means of selfexpression and self-identification. Rap is a genre that has produced legitimate artists, past and present. Deadbeat Donnie

joins Blaze in yearning to evolve the pantheon of hip-hop.

“I would just like to give back the culture that made me. Now that I’ve found like-minded people with the same work ethic I believe together we really have something to offer.”

Angeleno Records is about shifting consciousness to reveal we are living in a dystopian society now.

Lyricist, Poet and Emcee, Sunny Darko, was heavily influenced by the majestic songwriting of Jim Morrison, legendary frontman for “The Doors.” Like Morrison, Sunny Darko has strong visions of a different world than we live in now. A world of harmony, love and respect. His medium of dissemination to transport to his ideal society is hip-hop music.

Riggy Marz is the little boy who fell in love with the powerful words and strong Melodie’s of Bob Dylan, and grew into a Titan, with the battle scars to prove it. The depths of the underworld Riggy Marz escaped would shock Dante Alighieri, the great poet of the “Divine Comedy,” or “ Dante’s Inferno.” The early life of Riggy Marz is a Quentin Tarantino movie far above any NC-17 rating by the motion picture association. Yet, from the wasteland of crime and drug addiction Riggy Marz survived. There had to be a reason.

Quentin Tarantino famously said he knew his life was protected while he was writing “Pulp Fiction” because he believed his film “had to be made.” He felt it was destiny, and he was right. “Pulp Fiction” did take the pantheon of film in a completely new direction. This rationale is the only logical reason Riggy Marz survived his vicious years of drug addiction. Angeleno Records was destined to come into existence.

Riggy Marz, Sunny Darko, El Diablo Beats, Blaze Aliaz and Deadbeat Donnie were fated to band together like brothers in war. As a team, a “Circle of Bosses,” as they refer to themselves, their Angeleno Records is a tornado blowing a steady, consistent stream of phat beats and messages of independent thought and self-empowerment in the wind. Within the heart of the emergency room, there's a figure who stands out, not just for her medical expertise, but for her unwavering dedication to making a difference.

Dr. Bhavi Shah, a homeopathic doctor from India and a certified Physician Associate specializing in emergency, is a force to be reckoned with. She navigates the chaotic landscape of the ER with grace and determination, driven by a profound desire to impact lives positively.

"I chose a career in emergency medicine, because I wanted to be there for people during their most critical moments," shares Dr. Shah. "The fast-paced environment of the ER appealed to my love for challenges and my desire to perform under pressure. Each day brings new challenges, expanding my knowledge and skills while allowing me to make a direct, immediate impact on patient outcomes."

With each case that comes through the doors of the ER, Dr. Shah's dedication shines through. She recalls poignant moments that have left a lasting impact on her, from saving a young athlete in critical condition after a sudden cardiac arrest to providing comfort to a frightened child battling severe asthma.

"Working in emergency medicine is more than just a job; it's a calling," reflects Dr. Shah. "The sense of accomplishment in stabilizing a patient or providing comfort to those in need is unparalleled. And the camaraderie among ER staff, forged in the high-stakes atmosphere of emergency care, is like no other."

Despite the demands of her career, Dr. Shah's passions extend beyond the confines of the hospital walls. A trailblazer in the worlds of beauty and fashion, she has carved out a niche for herself on the runways of New York and LA Fashion Weeks, walking for renowned designers and even launching her own clothing line, Charvii Collection.

"Participating in pageants and fashion shows has been a transformative journey for me," says Dr. Shah. "It's not just about the glamor; it's about self-expression, confidence, and empowerment. These experiences have shaped me into a more confident, socially responsible individual."

Dr. Shah's commitment to empowerment extends beyond the runway. She organizes a local pageant in Phoenix, AZ, providing a platform for individuals

to showcase their talents and celebrate diversity. Her efforts have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Empowered Women Award and the Women Icon of the Year.

"Organizing the local pageant is about more than just beauty; it's about fostering a sense of community and empowering individuals to realize their dreams," explains Dr. Shah. "I believe in using my platform and influence to promote diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment both

within my professional field and in the broader community."

Balancing a career in medicine with her passions in beauty and fashion is no small feat, but Dr. Shah approaches it with strategic time management and a commitment to self-care. Whether she's walking the runway or saving lives in the ER, her unwavering dedication and boundless passion continue to inspire those around her, proving that with determination and compassion, anything is possible.

INTERVIEW

You mentioned that you're a Physician Associate working in the ER. What inspired you to pursue a career in emergency medicine, and what do you find most fulfilling about working in this fast-paced environment?

Dr. Shah: Choosing a career in emergency medicine was driven by my innate desire to make a meaningful impact in people's lives during their most critical moments. The fast-paced, ever-changing environment of the ER appealed to my love for challenges and my desire to perform difficult tasks under pressure. In the ER each day is different, which keeps my work interesting as

well as expands my knowledge and skills. What I find most fulfilling about working in emergency medicine is the immediate impact we can have on patient outcomes. There's a unique sense of accomplishment and purpose in stabilizing a patient in critical condition or in providing comfort to those in need. Moreover, the teamwork and camaraderie among ER staff, forged in the high-stakes atmosphere of emergency care, is unparalleled. We rely on each other's expertise and support to provide the best care possible, which creates a strong professional bond and a supportive working environment. Additionally, emergency

medicine offers a unique opportunity for autonomy and rapid decision-making, which I find professionally rewarding. It's a field where you can truly see the results of your decisions and actions play out in real-time, offering an immediate sense of contribution and satisfaction. Ultimately, it's the blend of intellectual challenge, teamwork, and the profound ability to affect change in critical situations that makes emergency medicine not just a career, but a calling for me.

Can you share some memorable experiences or cases from your time working in the ER that have left a lasting impact on you?

Dr. Shah: In the ER, you witness a full spectrum of experience, from tragedy to triumph. There are quite a few moments stand out for their profound impact on me, both professionally and personally. One such case was a young athlete who arrived in critical condition after a sudden cardiac attack. This was a stark reminder that medical emergencies can strike the seemingly healthiest individuals without warning. Despite the young athlete's prime physical condition, they were susceptible to a life-threatening event. The urgency with which we had to make critical decisions regarding the course of treatment was a high-pressure situation that tested our skills and resolve. Another memorable experience involved a case of a little girl who came in with severe asthma exacerbated by a respiratory infection. The fear in her eyes was palpable, and it reminded me of the immense responsibility we hold in our hands. Her gratitude, and that of her parents, after we managed to stabilize her, was incredibly humbling. Each of these experiences, among many others, has left a lasting impact on me. It has taught me that the ER is more than just a workplace; it's a place where life's most critical moments unfold, and having the opportunity to make a positive difference in those moments is both a privilege and a profound responsibility.

How do you handle the challenges and stresses that come with working in emergency medicine, and what strategies do you employ to maintain your well-being and resilience?

Dr. Shah: Working in emergency medicine certainly comes with its unique set of stresses and challenges, from the high-stakes

decisions to the emotional toll of dealing with critical situations. Over the years, I've devised several strategies to manage these pressures and maintain my well-being. First and foremost, I prioritize self-care. This means ensuring I get enough rest, engage in regular physical activity, and maintain a healthy diet. Exercise, in particular, is my favorite stressbuster. Also, mindfulness and meditation have become part of my daily routine. They help me stay fit and sharp during the chaos of the ER. Even a few minutes of mindfulness practice during a shift can make a significant difference in managing stress levels. Another key strategy is making time for hobbies and interests outside of medicine that helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance. Specifically, I am very passionate about fashion and beauty. I have participated in several pageants over the years and have won multiple titles including Mrs. India USA at Miss Asia USA pageant by Virgelia Production, Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. Ambassador by Million Dollar Diamond Pageant, Phoenix, AZ, and MyDream Super Model 2021, Next Top Model and Mrs. Asia 2021 by MyDreamTV USA. I regularly walk the ramp at New York and LA Fashion Week for many top international designers. Last year I also launched my own clothing line called Charvii Collection at the New York Fashion week. In addition, I also organize a local pageantry in Phoenix, AZ with the goal to provide the community an opportunity to showcase their talents and realize their dreams. I have also been rewarded with multiple awards including Empowered Women award by Empowered Magazine, Women Icon of the Year 2023 by MyDreamTV, Admirable Achiever by King’s Book of World Records and Honors award by Exclusive World Records. These engagements have given me recognition beyond my professional identity and empowered me in more ways than one.

As someone who has participated in and won multiple pageants, what drew you to the world of pageantry, and how has that experience influenced other aspects of your life and career?

Dr. Shah: My journey into the world of pageantry began not so much as a pursuit of accolades, but as a quest for personal growth and a platform to make a difference. Initially, I was drawn to pageantry for its emphasis on poise, self-confidence, and

the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who were equally passionate about health and beauty. It presented a unique challenge: to not only present myself at my best but also to articulate my views on global issues, personal advocacies, and how I planned to effect change. Participating in pageants has profoundly influenced various aspects of my life. It has honed my public speaking skills giving me the ability to voice my opinion and advocacies. It has boosted my confidence and self-image. Lastly, it has opened-up numerous opportunities to meet mentors, peers, and professionals from diverse fields, leading to friendships and opportunities that have been instrumental in my personal growth. Overall, to me the world of pageantry has been more than just a series of competitions; it's been a transformative journey that has equipped me with invaluable life skills and experiences. It has shaped me into a more confident, articulate, and socially responsible individual, profoundly impacting my personal and professional development.

You've also walked for many designers at New York and LA fashion weeks. Could you share some highlights from those experiences and how they've shaped your perspective on fashion and style?

Dr. Shah: Walking for esteemed designers at New York and LA Fashion Weeks has been among the most exhilarating and enlightening experiences of my career. Each

show, with its unique vision and aesthetic, has not only been a privilege to be a part of but has also significantly broadened my perspective on fashion and style. One of the standout highlights was my first walk at New York Fashion Week. The sheer scale of the event, the buzz of anticipation backstage, and the moment of stepping onto the runway amidst a sea of lights and eyes fixed on you was nothing short of magical. It was a reminder of the power of fashion as a form of expression and art. Also, participating in shows that featured incredibly diverse models in terms of body type, age, and background was profoundly impactful. Collaborating with world-renowned designers and being part of bringing their visions to life on the runway has also been a tremendous learning experience. It has taught me the inner workings of fashion world. This insight has deepened my appreciation for the fashion and beauty industry. Lastly, meeting fellow models and other team members have been incredibly rewarding. I have made friends and mentors that I will cherish for life.

Launching a clothing line at New York Fashion Week is a significant achievement. What inspired you to venture into fashion design, and can you tell us about the concept and vision behind your clothing line?

Dr. Shah: The journey into fashion world was fueled by a lifelong passion for self-expression through clothing and an eagerness

to challenge and redefine fashion norms. What inspired me to venture into fashion design was the desire to create a line that resonates with individuals seeking not just style, but a means to express their identities, values, and aspirations. The concept behind my clothing line is Classic Roots with Modern Vogue‚ a blend of timeless elegance with the touch of modern fashion trends. Our vision is to offer fashion that transcends generations, focusing on fashion that is classic and versatile, while ensuring that the designs are in line with the modern trends. The launch at New York Fashion Week was not just a showcase of our collection but a statement of our values. It was an opportunity to introduce a vision of fashion that appeals to people of all ages. We want to inspire a movement towards fashion that is traditional yet modern. Our vision for the future is to continue pushing the boundaries of redefining traditional fashion in the modern era. We aim to foster a community around our brand that values creativity and to contribute to a positive and empowering fashion industry.

Organizing a local pageant shows your commitment to empowering others and celebrating diversity. What motivated you to start this initiative, and what impact do you hope it has on your community?

Dr. Shah: The motivation behind organizing a local pageant stemmed from a desire to create a platform that celebrates diversity, fosters community spirit, and empowers individuals of all backgrounds to showcase their talents, confidence, and visions for making a positive impact in the world. Having experienced firsthand the transformative power of participating in pageants, I wanted to extend that opportunity to others in my community. This initiative is about more than beauty or competition; it's about creating a supportive environment where participants can grow, express themselves freely, and be celebrated for their unique qualities and aspirations. One of the key impacts I hope to achieve is to inspire confidence and a sense of achievement among the participants. The aim is to provide them with a platform where they can develop and present their talents, boost their self-confidence and fostering a sense of accomplishment. Furthermore, I envision this pageant as a unifying event that brings the community together, promoting understanding, respect, and appreciation for

diversity. It's an opportunity for community members to engage with and support one another, building stronger, more cohesive bonds. I hope that this pageant can create a ripple effect of positivity, empowerment, and change that extends far beyond the event itself.

Balancing a career in medicine with your interests in beauty and fashion can be demanding. How do you manage your time effectively to pursue your passions outside of work?

Dr. Shah: Balancing a demanding career in medicine with interests in beauty and fashion requires strategic time management and prioritization. I start by setting clear goals for both my professional responsibilities and personal passions, ensuring that I have specific objectives to work towards in each area. I maintain a structured schedule, using tools like digital calendars and to-do lists to allocate time slots for work, personal projects, and rest, ensuring that each aspect of my life receives dedicated attention. Efficiency during work hours is key; I focus on being as productive as possible, which often involves streamlining tasks, delegating when appropriate, and minimizing distractions. This approach allows me to free up more

time for my interests outside of medicine. I practice self-care and mindfulness to manage stress and maintain high energy levels. Being physically and mentally fit enhances my ability to juggle different responsibilities effectively. Finally, I’m flexible and re-assess my priorities regularly. Life is unpredictable, especially in a medical career, so being able to adjust plans and accept that not everything can be perfectly balanced at all times is crucial. By staying organized, efficient, and flexible, I manage to pursue my passions outside of work while fulfilling my commitments in the medical field.

Can you share any upcoming projects or collaborations in the worlds of medicine, beauty, or fashion that you're excited about?

Dr. Shah: I'm thrilled about several upcoming projects. One of the most exciting endeavors is walking for an international designer at Cannes Fashion Week in Cannes, France. This event is a prestigious platform that showcases global fashion trends, and participating in it is both an honor and a fantastic opportunity showcase myself on an international stage. I'll also be part of a bridal fashion show for a local designer, a project that allows me to connect

with the local fashion scene and highlight the creativity and talent within my community. Throughout the summer, I'm scheduled for multiple photoshoots. These sessions are not just about fashion and beauty; they're opportunities to explore different narratives and themes, further expanding my portfolio and experiences in the modeling industry. Finally, I'm dedicating a significant amount of time and effort to plan and prepare for my pageant in the fall. This event is particularly close to my heart, as it embodies empowerment, diversity, and community engagement. It's my chance to mentor and inspire participants from my community.

What advice would you give to individuals looking to pursue multiple interests and passions simultaneously, based on your own experiences navigating different fields?

Dr. Shah: Pursuing multiple interests and passions simultaneously is both rewarding and challenging. Based on my experiences, the first piece of advice would be to recognize the value of time management. It's crucial to prioritize your tasks and understand that not everything can be achieved at once; focus on what's most important at the moment. Another key aspect is to set realistic goals. Break down your ambitions into achievable objectives, allowing for a

sense of accomplishment as you progress in each area. This approach helps in maintaining motivation and managing expectations. Self-care should not be overlooked.

Pursuing multiple paths can be taxing, and neglecting your well-being can have a negative impact. Ensure you allocate time for rest and activities that recharge your mind and body. Lastly, be patient and kind to yourself. Progress in multiple areas takes time, and there will be setbacks. Celebrate your successes, no matter how small, and learn from the failures without being too hard on yourself.

Beyond professional achievements, what personal values or principles do you prioritize in your life and career?

Dr. Shah: In both my life and career, integrity stands at the forefront. This means being honest and transparent in my actions and decisions, ensuring consistency between my values and my behavior. Compassion is another core value; understanding and empathizing with others enhances both personal relationships and professional interactions. I prioritize lifelong learning, embracing every opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills, recognizing that growth is a continuous journey. I believe in the power of teamwork and collaboration, valuing diverse perspectives and the collective strength of working towards common goals. Work-life balance is essential, as it allows me to recharge and maintain my well-being, ensuring I can give my best in all aspects of life. Lastly, I strive for impact, aiming to make a positive difference in the lives of others through my actions and to leave a legacy that transcends professional achievements.

How do you use your platform and influence to promote diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment, both within your professional field and in the broader community?

Dr. Shah: I believe my platform and influence puts me in unique position to promote diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment in my community. I actively advocate for policies and practices that support diversity and inclusion. I constantly seek opportunities to participating in events or initiatives aimed at increasing representation and ensuring equitable opportunities for all. For example, I lead a group of girls, who like me enjoy modeling and fashion, to perform themed fashion walks that highlight cultural

diversity at local community events. I also mentor and support individuals from diverse cultural groups, offering guidance, resources, and opportunities to help them pursue their dreams. Furthermore, I collaborate with organizations and initiatives that work towards community empowerment, using my platform to amplify their impact.

Lastly, on a lighter note, outside of your busy schedule, what are some activities or hobbies that you enjoy indulging in to unwind and recharge?

Dr. Shah: In the hustle and bustle of professional commitments, I find it essential to carve out time for activities that bring joy and relaxation. Three of my favorite ways to unwind and recharge include travel, spending quality time with family, and cooking. I love exploring new places as it opens the world in unique ways, allowing me to enjoy different cultures, landscapes, and experiences. Whether it's a weekend getaway or an international adventure, travel is an opportunity to step away from the daily routine, learn something new, and

return recharged. Family time is another thing that's very important for me. I have a caring and supportive husband and an adorable 7-year-old son. That's why I make it a priority to engage in activities that bring us together, whether it's playingboard games, going on hikes, or simply enjoying a movie night at home. I love taking my son to his swim lessons, taekwondo class and basketball games. I also

love to volunteer at my son’s school and act as a treasurer for the parent’s club. These engagements help me connect to my family and refocus on what truly matters. Lastly, cooking is both a hobby and a stressbuster. It offers both a creative outlet and a way to unwind. I love experimenting with new recipes and try new cuisines. I am a health freak and love to create or modify recipes that are healthy.

Actress, writer, producer, and director, Kim Quinn has appeared as Ruth in the Oscar Nominated film, Hidden Figures; as Nurse Ana in the Golden Globe and Critics Choice nominated film, Saint Vincent; and as Jewels in the Western comedy El Camino Christmas. In television, she starred as Gretchen in the cult classic, Terriers; and as Holly in the thriller Gypsy. Currently producing The Goat for Netflix, she was cast as Regina in the Humanitas Award Winning film, The Starling also on Netflix, which she also produced. Quinn produces all her films through her production company Goldenlight Films alongside her husband, writer/director Ted Melfi.

In the upcoming film American Dreamer, Quinn is Maggie, the complicated and concerned daughter of Astrid, played by Shirley MacLaine. When a stranger, played by Peter Dinklage, moves into her mother's spare room, suspicions arise.

Based on a true story from Chicago Public Radio’s The American Life, American Dreamer follows Phil Loder (Dinklage), a twice-divorced, frustrated, underpaid professor of economics, whose grand dream of home ownership is tragically out of reach. When an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes his way, Phil strikes a deal with Astrid Finnelli (MacLaine), a lonely, childless, near-death widow who offers her sprawling estate for pennies on the dollar. But Phil quickly learns the deal is too good to be true. American Dreamer debuts in theaters this Spring nationwide.

INTERVIEW

Thank you for taking the time for this interview. What drew you to this film and the role of Maggie?

Kim Quinn: I was honored to get my name in the hat. Maggie is so wild and unpredictable. I loved that about her. Every daughter needs to protect her mother when Phil comes snooping around. She gets a little suspicious. It was a role that was filled with many emotions and Maggie wasn’t shy to show them all.

Did you audition for the role? If so, what was that like?

Quinn: I did behind the scenes. I didn’t have a specific audition. It was more of a meeting than an audition.

How did you prepare for the role? Did you know someone who has a cantankerous but kind, loving mother?

Quinn: I think everyone has a mother that has things that they can pull from.

You must have a favorite scene. Why do you like it?

Quinn: It was the car scene where I was crying. It was the most fun because Peter made me laugh the whole time. I'd been really lovingly annoyed with him. I would try to cry and whenever I looked at him, he would crack a smile. He would rib me and that was fun. Peter is so charismatic and giving. He's so compassionate and such a pure actor. He cares about every detail. That was the great thing about this movie— you're working with a legend. Before a scene, he's in character and working out the things he needs to do. There was such a respect that went along with all the actors. And it was comforting to know that your fellow actors are all on the same page.

What did you find most challenging about this film and playing Maggie?

Quinn: I don’t know, I have to say, I just loved every minute of it. If there was a challenge it was a fun challenge.

The large house featured in the film was quite interesting. Where was it? Quinn: That was in Victoria, Canada. It was during Covid, so no one was around. We were on this island and it was just us. We just had a great time because you got to be on set with this little film family at a time when no one was seeing anyone.

You’ve worked every side of this business in film and TV. What have you learned about show business that really surprised you?

Quinn: I wish I could say I learned this and put it in cement but it takes so many years to learn little pieces at a time. And after you learn all these little pieces, there’s freedom on the other side. It’s where you can enjoy the process instead of not being able to breathe and grueling through it. Being on both sides of the camera is invaluable because you get to watch the scenes come to life. You get to watch the story being told. It’s all about storytelling and servicing the story.

What do you like better the writing or directing?

Quinn: I love to direct. I haven't directed in a long time but I'm working on a film right now—The Goat for Netflix— which I'm excited about. It stars Melissa McCarthy and Kevin Hart. We're also working on Ranger’s Apprentice for Skydance (based on the novel by John Flanagan). I love producing because I get to watch the film and story come to life before my eyes. And acting, the same. And when you’re writing, you get to disappear into the minds of the characters. So they all service one another.

American Dreamer is at times funny, sad, and uplifting. What do you see as the core message of this film?

Quinn: I think it’s the dream in general. It’s something that many people still think exists. I think American Dreamer shows that with tenacity, not giving up, fighting for what you want in life, and going through

all the ups and downs with it; if you hold on to hope long enough, it will show up for you. It might not be on your timing but on God's timing.

What advice do you have for young talent struggling to make it in this business—particularly acting and writing?

Quinn: Just dive into any aspect of the craft because there are many different sides to it. And don't put yourself in one area because you're going to learn to be a better actor if you get behind the camera. And if you're behind the camera, you'll learn how to be a better writer. They all service each other and you really cannot lose.

What were you like in high school?

The girl most likely to…?

Quinn: Oh Lord, I was the laughing girl. I got kicked out of classes because I laughed. I wasn’t the class clown but I did beat my own drum. I wasn’t in drama. I didn’t start acting until I was in my 20s. I was a dance teacher after I left high school. I had a lot of different jobs growing up. At nine years old, I was a paper girl. We were poor and I was taught that if you wanted anything you had to buy it yourself. So I grew up with an appreciation for hard work. My mother made me weed this long wall every summer. And now, guess what, I love weeding.

INSIDE THE ATTRACTIVE AND COLORFUL HOME OF ZSA ZSA GABOR IN PALM SPRINGS

In Palm Springs, one of the most colorful homes in the area that once belonged to Magda Gabor and then her sister, Zsa Zsa has recently been sold. The property was listed by the Brady Sandahl Real Estate Group at a whopping $3.8 million before it was reduced to $2.6 million. The final sale price has not yet been disclosed, but the suspense of who is the lucky new owner of this estate is exciting.

What makes this house truly stand out isn't just the pretty pink exterior, but rather, the history behind the construction and legacy it leaves behind. Built for Magda Gabor in 1964 by her fourth husband, Arthur "Tony" Gallucci, this lovely estate has been maintained for many years, preserving that wonderfully one-of-a-kind Gabor glamour present in every room. The house even includes many original furnishings that truly stand out beautifully in every way.

However, this house did not become Zsa Zsa's beloved home until the timely passing of her elder sister, Madga, back

in 1997. It wasn't until twenty years later in 2023 when the house was finally put on the market, but since then, the beautiful interior and exterior of this house has been preserved and maintained. As it has sat on the hill of a very upscale Palm Springs neighborhood of Little Tuscany, this pink house has also been known to have a 360-degree mountain and city view all around the property.

This house being pink is not the only thing that makes this property stand out by a mile, as there are other aspects that make this estate so pleasing to the eye. With artificial grass and a stone patio, the exterior is both easy to maintain and eco-friendly for potential buyers. Both add a charm alongside the palm trees and pleasant view of the mountainside. The location itself has many benefits, granting potential residents with quick and easy access to the popular North Lykken hiking trail and is just down the street from mid-century modern landmark: The Edris House. Zsa Zsa Gabor has often been considered to be the "original celebrity", having frequent television appearances and been known for her lavish lifestyle. Not to mention the amount of traveling she had done around the world, coupled with the high-powered men she had dated, along with the many high-end soirees that she herself had hosted. Her life certainly managed to draw in attention by her fans and friends alike, along with her two sisters, Magda and Eva, who shared her love of being in film.

Dr. Alvin Berger, a retired dentist and accomplished author, has travelled a fascinating journey that led him to become a prolific wiriter, sculptor and painter. His writing explores themes ranging from romance to political intrigue. Dr. Berger’s life story is as captivating as the characters he creates, filled with love, loss, and the pursuit of creativity. Dr. Berger’s path to becoming an author was unconventional, to say the least. Retiring from his career as a dentist in 2000, Dr. Berger found himself embarking on a new chapter of his life following the loss of his wife in 2010. It was during this period of profound change that he found solace in writing, spurred on by the encouragement of his beloved Vera, his partner of 11 years.

Their love story, born out of tragedy and forged through shared experiences, became the inspiration behind Dr. Berger’s debut novel, “Adama: A Mind of Her Own.” Venturing into the realm of fiction for the first time, Dr. Berger’s initial struggles with writer’s block were overcome by a newfound passion for storytelling. Dr. Berger’s writing process is as unique as his life story. Drawing on his background as a musician and dentist, he approaches storytelling with a sense of immersion, allowing the characters and plot to unfold organically. His novels, which include “We Love You, Madam President” and “Tentacles of Corruption,” tackle a diverse range of themes, from romance to political corruption, with each narrative infused with his own experiences and observations.

Navigating the world of publishing hasn’t been without its challenges for Dr. Berger. From self-publishing to finding the right publisher, he has encountered his fair share of setbacks and scams. This is my first piece that I did in bonded bronze. My son, Gary, and I went to New York to a sculpting studio and they cast it for me. It was first done and Roma Plastilina and then cast. It’s hard to relate the emotions that I felt when I first saw it.

I set up my covered bridge table in the garage as soon as Vera left to get her nails done. It is the only time I have to do these paintings. We have no room in the house so I’m relegated to the garage. I so enjoy doing them. This one is called, “Starburst”.

a week. He was in Connecticut, I was in Florida and he loved my books and I sent him copies of the books and he said to me you ought to write a detective story. I’m thinking, oh, I know about a detective story. So I sat down thinking about how I should open the beginning chapter. Charles Barlow the detective, and Denise Florio comes in and she says I think my husband is cheating on me. And from there on out a story was made from there.

Going into your book Adama, Dr. Matt Cranston is a member of a top secret government agency. How did you develop this character and what challenges did you face in portraying his role?

Alvin: I was trying to figure out a character, so I used one that I knew best and that was being a dentist. As I was walking in New York City, it just hit me. To make this story more realistic he has to be a member of some top secret government organization which is very much common in many, many movies and stories. But I had to figure out the name of a prime consideration and that was really sitting there saying what does this guy do? How are you connected to the government? I used personal experience when I went through it myself; when I was in the service in 1954, I was in basic training and they wanted me to become part of the CIA and they did a search. When they did a search I was not allowed to become a member.

If the entire world was tuned in to our conversation right now, what is a message you would have for them?

Alvin: My message is never, ever give up, always honor your commitments and to always do the right thing. Your handshake is your bond. I also like to listen to everybody, different schools of thought. People must be open-minded and listen to all sides of the argument before they make a decision.

We are very excited for your upcoming film “Naked Truth.” Could you discuss more about it?

Mansoor: Yes, so, for starters, we have decided to change the name of the movie to “Path of Liberation.” The name was decided by the director due to there being other projects that share similar names with our film. It was best to take a step back and approach this at a new angle.

What significance does this film hold?

Mansoor: The movie is based on the true life story of my father; he was against Islamic extremism and unfortutely died in jail. It's the story of a Muslim, Pakistani man, a political, human right activist. I would like to highlight as well, I'm a Muslim-American and I'm partnered with an Israeli Jewish director. We are coming together in this project to bring awareness about religious equality and humanity which reflects heavily in the story. The Pakistani Muslim man is intertwined with an American-Jewish journalist and the movie shows how they work together to help the people of Pakistan and bring this message of human rights and equality.

Can we expect any other projects coming from you in the near future?

Mansoor: I am currently in the final stages of a book that I am writing which covers the movie in greater detail. In a movie we only have two hours to tell a story that truthfully needs a surplus of hours to completely tell. The book will cover the whole lifetime story, like every, pretty much every event of his life is covered in the book. I wanted to have all the sacrifices and everything he did explained and described in detail. It is currently in the editing process and my plan is to release it within a couple months.

ACADEMY APPOINTS BRIDGETTE WILDER TO THE NEWLY CREATED ROLE OF CHIEF PEOPLE AND CULTURE OFFICER

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has named Bridgette Wilder as its first Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO), Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy Museum Director and President Jacqueline Stewart announced today. Wilder will report directly to Kramer and Stewart.

In this newly created position that combines the Academy and Academy Museum’s human resources teams, Wilder will be responsible for building a people-centric culture at the Academy. With a strong focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, Wilder will oversee talent management, organizational development and training, employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR systems and practices, and employee resource affinity groups.

“We are thrilled to elevate Bridgette to this new and needed position at the Academy. She is strategic, compassionate and an incredible community and team builder. She is the perfect fit to lead our People and Culture team as we form a holistic leadership department—a department that is so vital to our day-to-day operations and mission. Wilder earned her BA in Human Resources from Birmingham-Southern College and a BS in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University. She holds an MBA from Averett University, is a graduate of the Furman University/Riley Institute Diversity Leadership Academy, and is a recipient of the Coretta Scott King Humanitarian Award.
