Q&A WITH
Dr. Sona Patel is known as DOC420, and she is the Founder and CEO of CBD GLOW. She gained popularity as the second doctor in history to provide medical marijuana recommendations, starting in 2005. Dr. Patel has over ten years of experience in the cannabis industry and is by many considered to be a true pioneer in the world of CBD I started CBD GLOWTM to continue to bring people the miraculous benefits of the cannabis plant.
What is CBD? The cannabis plant boasts a variety of compounds - also known as cannabinoids which contain medicinal benefits, Dr. Patel explains. Among these cannabinoids is cannabidiol, or CBD. CBD is not addictive, and it will not make you feel "high" because there are no psychoactive elements in it. CBD is rich in fatty acids like Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 and in antioxidants like Vitamin A, C and E. CBD is also high in amino acids which are the building blocks of protein that build up collagen and elastin. Do you believe the hype about CBD is true? Absolutely! It’s the next level of powerful superfoods, the game changer, says Dr. Patel.
• IMPROVES TEXTURE - CBD improves skin texture, dryness, dullness, and uneven tone. • REVITALIZE and RESTORE - CBD is antioxidant-rich which revitalizes and restores the skin. • ANTI-AGING - CBD can reduce visible signs of aging because it is rich in skinrejuvenating antioxidants vitamins A, C and E that neutralizes damage.
supple) absorb cannabinoids via hair follicles. This effect means that CBD can help moderate oil production, increasing or decreasing it as needed - useful for a wide variety of skin ailments, especially acne. CBD receptors in the skin can also treat acne by suppressing sebocytes’ proliferation. Plus, its anti-inflammatory properties effectively treat the already visible acne.
What skin conditions does CBD treat? The doctor goes into detail about how CBD aids in a variety of skin conditions. INFLAMMATION. BD calms and soothes painful, irritated, and inflamed skin.
ROSACEA. CBD's anti-inflammatory and healing properties aid skin with rosacea. CBD has been shown to offer a range of medical benefits and to tackle the underlying causes of rosacea, which is a chronic inflammatory skin condition. CBD can dampen certain elements that trigger the condition.
How does CBD help the skin? Dr. Patel explains that CBD provides the following benefits to skin:
CBD calms and soothes painful, irritated, and inflamed skin. Clinical studies have also confirmed that CBD has antiinflammatory effects. This is because CBD reduces the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, inhibits T cell proliferation, induces T cell apoptosis, and reduces migration and adhesion of immune cells.
• HYDRATION - CBD has the perfect proportion of fatty acids to provide optimal moisture to the skin. • LUMINOUS GLOW - CBD provides deep moisture for visibly glowing and radiant skin.
ACNE AND ACNE SCARS. CBD regulates oil production and therefore helps with acne. Sebocytes (the cells which make up the sebaceous gland, responsible for secreting the oil/sebum that keeps skin smooth and

ECZEMA. The most convincing results from studies are the benefits of cannabinoids on inflammation and itching, specifically in patients with eczema, says Dr. Patel. Research indicates that CBD that can help reduce inflammation, redness, and itching on the skin from eczema. CBD activates CB2 receptors on the peripheral sensory nerve fibers, which inhibits itching signals and soothes itchy skin.

PSORIASIS. CBD reduces skin flaking, redness, and dryness in skin, conditions associated with psoriasis. Psoriasis is a condition that causes the epidermis to grow much more quickly than normal epidermis; the result is overly flaky skin. Research shows that CBD activates certain cannabinoid receptors in the body which may help to slow down the rapid skin growth and help in slowing down the excess flaking of the skin. DERMATITIS. CBD may help relieve the inflammation that characterizes dermatitis, which in turn can alleviate symptoms such as itching, redness, and dryness. How CBD affects your hair? Helps your hair growth. It helps the hair grow. CBD contains Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 which accelerate the hair-growth cycle to transition to the anagen phase, thus stimulating hair growth. Research studies have shown that CB1 and CB2 receptors regulate hair life cycles and thus influence hair growth. The doctor continues by explaining that using CBD for hair loss is effective because it reduces inflammation, which can promote a healthier environment for hair to grow on the scalp. CBD is making waves in the beauty industry for its amazing benefits to the skin, and this includes your scalp. It’s regenerative for the skin, so it helps maintain optimal scalp health. Only a healthy scalp can lead to healthy hair! CBD contains lots of essential vitamins and minerals to nourish the scalp: calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin E. CBD helps stimulate and enhance the growth of hair through increased blood circulation. When used directly on the hair follicles it delivers nutrients right to the source. Finally, CBD is an “adaptogen”. That means it regulates scalp sebum production (i.e., balances your oil levels), bringing a healthy scalp to all hair types. Makes the hair stronger. It actually makes your hair stronger, says Dr. Patel. CBD strengthens hair-roots by providing the necessary nutrients for strong and healthy hair growth. CBD results in stronger hair for the following reasons:
• CBD acts upon the scalp to cleanse deposits of chemicals that may block the hair from growing. The antioxidants in CBD help protect hair from environmental damage and repair breakage. • CBD even protects the hair from suffering water loss by keeping it well hydrated and nourished, even in harsh weather conditions. • CBD contains all 21 known amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. Because of that, it helps to build up collagen and elastin, which are essential to hair strength. By helping hair to build protein, CBD prevents breakage and even makes locks look thicker and fuller. • Since every single strand of hair is made of protein, CBD is incredibly effective in combating brittle and fragile hair. Using CBD can help to strengthen your hair and heal damaged hair cuticles. Studies show that one of the amino acids in CBD, tyrosine, helps to maintain hair color. CBD nourishes your hair. Research shows that when used on your hair, the fatty acids in CBD hydrate the hair, lock in moisture, prevent moisture loss, and seal the hair cuticle thus providing optimal nourishment for lustrous locks. No split ends. Research has shown that CBD may actually reverse hair cuticle damage and other effects of environmental stress on the follicle. CBD GLOWTM is designed to work on all hair types. It covers all that your hair care needs and can be used in conjunction with your preferred styling products. Are there any side effects to CBD? CBD is generally safe for anyone to use. There is very minimal risk, says Dr. Patel. If anyone has an allergy to CBD, they may have a reaction, otherwise it is considered safe. Is it legal? Shipping CBD in the United States is a little more straightforward in the last few years than it was in the past, says Dr. Patel. Because of the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, it is now legal to ship CBD products in the mail throughout the United States. However, in order for a product to be legal per the 2018 Farm Bill, there are certain specifications that must be met. First, the CBD product must contain less than 0.3% of THC. Also, the CBD must be derived from hemp opposed to cannabis, Dr. Patel explains.
To ensure that the product you’re shipping meets federal guidelines, you’ll want to review the certificate of analysis (COA). This is a document provided by a third-party lab that examines the makeup of a CBD product, including the percentage of CBD, THC, and other compounds. When it comes to Shipping CBD Internationally, there are a lot more rules and regulations to follow. There are more than 190 countries, and unsurprisingly, many of them have different legalities when it comes to CBD products. Generally, CBD products in countries outside of the U.S. must contain less than 0.2% THC content. This is 0.1% less than what is legal in the U.S. However, the 0.2% THC content rule doesn’t apply to all countries. For example, countries such as Russia, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates ban CBD products entirely. Other places, such as Australia, require that CBD products only be prescribed by a doctor. Therefore, international shipping varies by country. Why should customers buy from you versus other CBD product companies? All CBD GLOWTM products are created with phytocannabinoid rich hemp combined with the purest quality ingredients using state-of-the-art technologies to deliver the safest, most consistent, potent, and effective CBD products available on the market today. Every product is formulated with the highest and purest concentration of CBD which has been refined multiple times and third-party tested to deliver maximum therapeutic benefits. Dr. Patel continues. All CBD GLOWTM products are formulated and developed in the USA in world-class facilities that are GMP certified, and ISO certified. The hemp-derived ingredients used in all my products are organically grown at a 300+ acre farm in the USA and thus ensure Premium Grade, Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Industrial Hemp Registered, Farm Bill Compliant, Pesticides Free, No Metals, No Harsh Chemicals and THC Free. Where can people purchase your CBD GLOW products? You can purchase CBD GLOWTM products at www.cbdglow.com. Selling CBD GLOWTM products through Sephora and Ulta is next, the doctor says and wraps up the interview.

When we at Georgia Swings began building porch and patio swings 9 years ago, we had no idea that the demand for our products would be so great. When customers began to come from neighboring states to purchase Georgia Swings and Bed Swings, we knew we had succeeded in creating a product that was by far superior to other porch and patio swing-products being sold. Porch, patio and bed swings are no longer considered a luxury to be enjoyed by a few; they can be a Zen way of relaxation for anyone with a living space, or with the ability to imagine and create an elegant and peaceful place to read, meditate or just relax in luxury.

Many dogs. Humorous and caninecentric, Dawg Towne is like Peyton Place re-written by Dorothy Parker and your friendly neighborhood veterinarian. And yes, this is a work of fiction.

Q&A WITH RON KARR Q:What is the Definition of Velocity? A:Everyone thinks Velocity is all about speed. It is not! If that is all you think it is you probably are in danger of experiencing burnout. The Physics Definition of Velocity is Speed + Direction. Direction is the goal we want to achieve. Direction is critical as it drives our decision-making process and ensures we do not waste time on tasks that are not germane to the cause.
Q:What advice can you give someone struggling to get into the “right mindset” as described in The Velocity Mindset®? A:Figure out what you want to achieve. Then work your way backwards and identify three things that need to happen to get there. Identify the right actions and timelines. Hold yourself accountable and pivot when necessary. We tend to energize ourselves around initiatives that we are passionate about. Find your passion because nothing will stop you then. Q:What was your favorite part of the writing process while working on The Velocity Mindset®? A:When the Pandemic lockdown started,
I decided not to go after the virtual keynotes as all meetings were shut down. While requests still came in, I decided to write The Velocity Mindset® and post daily videos to my tribe. The best part about this was it kept me sane and on task about what truly is important in life-achieving the important things we want out of life. Q:What is your next big project you’re working on? A:Spreading The Velocity Mindset® through Velocity Mindset Ninjas. These are individuals who are influential in their organizations or markets, align with The Velocity Mindset® and have a passion for driving The Velocity Mindset® throughout the entire organization. At one point, I was struggling to find happiness both at work and in my relationships. I just knew there must be a better way to live life and to relate to the world and other people. I did a lot of research and investigation into a variety of ideologies, thought processes and teachings and applied what I learned. The 9 tools are the distillation of my personal path to success and it was important for me to share them with women of the world.

Q: What was your writing process like while working on your book? A: Well, this book has been in the idea stage for quite some time. I began getting requests to write the book from women who had taken the workshop and I thought it was a great idea. I think traditionally people write a book and then turn it into a course, but The Quinn Essentials came into being as a live course and so my challenge was to translate this dynamic, energetic and often life changing workshop into an equally empowering solo journey for the reader. Honestly, yes, it seemed like a daunting task and I didn’t do it overnight. I really practiced patience, not wanting to rush the process when it didn’t feel right. I practiced my own tools, connected with the right people, listened and although it took a number of years, it really feels like it happened in its own perfect timing.
Q: Why is empowering women important to you? A: When the Dahli Lama said, “The world will be changed by the western woman.” That was a turning point for me. When he said that, it struck something in me, I realized that I could make a difference, that all women can make a difference and create a better world. It will take all of us, because there are so many areas in the world that need our help. So for me helping women step back into their power and accomplish their dreams became part of my mission.

PaleyFest LA sign with all the Television Shows included in the fest.
aleyFest LA 2022 had an incredible lineup which included TV shows like, This is Us, Superman & Lois, Better Call Saul, Black-ish, Ghosts, Neighborhood, and many more. PaleyFest LA features well known TV shows, Q & A’s, and premieres. I was very fortunate to attend since this is the first time PaleyFest LA returns after 3 years. I attended the Q & A for the TV shows called, “Ghosts,” and, “Neighborhood.” PaleyFest LA took place at the beautiful Dolby Theater. The theater has a wonder staircase entrance. At the bottom floor they held the red carpet for the press, cast and crew. As you enter the theater you walk on that beautiful staircase, and immediately once inside you see a booth where you can join the Paley Center Community. As you make your way down the hallway, there are black and white photos of some previous celebrities who won at the Oscars. Once inside, we were seated and greeted by the host, we were in for a surprise. We got to watch a sneak peak of next weeks episode, and for those who have never watched Ghosts, it was perfect!

If you haven’t seen ‘Ghosts,’ you will really love next week’s episode. Ghosts is about a quirky couple who inherited an old run down home, but
they decided to turn it into a Bed & Breakfast. However, they were in for a surprise since they weren’t home alone. As it turns out, the old country home was full of residents who are dead. The dynamic between Samantha (Rose Mclver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) works well in this scenario. He is a bit clueless as to what is happening since he can’t see the ghosts. However, Samantha can hear and see the ghosts, so she is more aware of everything. Jay is a supportive character towards his wife, so he tries his best to help her out, but he is terrible at it which is funny to watch him fail. Ultimately, Samantha seems like the more levelheaded one who some may say she is demanding or maybe more reasonable than the rest. What makes the show even more intriguing is that each ghost comes from a different time in history, and they are unique with their look, personalities etc. During the Q & A, Rebecca Wysocki who plays Hetty on Ghosts, stated that she studied history and actually paid attention this time around to help her understand how women were living during the 1800’s. The other ghost that stood out to me was Sasappis played by Roman Zaragoza, and he represents a Native American from the Lenape Tribe. During the Q &A he stated
The cast of the Ghost who attended were as followed: Rose Mclver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Danielle Pinnock, Richie Moriaty, Brandon Scott Jones, Rebecca Wisocky, Roman Zaragoza, Shelia Carrasco, and Devan Long.

he was a Native American from Akimel O’otham tribe of Mexican Descent and from his mother’s side he is Japanese and Taiwanese. He represents a group of minorities that have been neglected within the entertainment industry, so to see someone who is Mexican Native American, such as myself was nice to see and I hope we can continue to give more opportunities to minorities as such. Soon after the Q & A of Ghosts we were able to jump right into watch the TV show called, “Neighborhood,” which is a show about Dave who moves into his new home that just so happens to be a predominantly black neighborhood. His neighbor Calvin Butler (Cedric the Entertainer) is a bit weary about his new neighbor Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield) who is white and worried he may change the culture. This cast is multi-talented,

we saw Tichina Arnold’s amazing performance singing and dancing in the previewed episode, she plays Tina Butler. What a performance, Tina Butler is a bit controlling and when her husband tries to be a voice of reason, he is a bit standoffish due to her demeanor. Also, she had a knife in her hand, which did not help the situation, and this is the beauty of this show. Cedric and the writers were able to make light of some serious situations, yet this was obviously no threat, but you don’t want to upset someone while they are chopping veggies. There are some serious controversial topics the show touches on in other episodes, but the writers and cast portrayed these matters in a lighthearted comedic way. During the Q & A it was apparent that everyone supports each other, a lot of people from above the line such as producers, directors, other crew

members etc. were all in the audience supporting the cast! Not only that, but the cast knew their names and they started to acknowledge them within the audience while cheering them on. The feeling of being surrounded by family was there at this Q & A. Afterwards, I was able to meet with some of the crew members. Furthermore, I was very fortunate to meet Victor Gonzalez, a Mexican American who directed 20 episodes of ‘The Neighborhood.’ I was thrilled to see everyone supporting each other, what a beautiful way to end the night. Additionally, we had an opportunity to ask questions during the Q & A session of, “Ghosts,” and “The Neighborhood.” Ultimately, both television shows were comedic, informative, entertaining and had some diversity.

Chu's adaptation of the hit musical Wicked and the adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical In The Heights for Warner Brothers. The film's cinematography received widespread critical acclaim. Her newest project is tick, tick...BOOM! Directed by Miranda and produced by Ron Howard, the Jonathan Larson musical tells the story of an aspiring composer who struggles to pursue his dreams in New York City in 1990.
By Alex A. Kecskes
Q: Thank you for taking the time for this interview. What drew you to tic, tic, Boom!? A: I got the script on my last day working on The Heights. Reading the script, I said, these could be scenes out of my childhood. I grew up in New York in the 80s. My father was a playwright and my mother was a dancer. Our house was filled with my father’s artist friends. We had all these creative people over all the time. There was just so much joy, love, and art around. When I read the script, I realized Jonathan was just like my father. I’d watched my dad’s heartbreak over and over as he tried to make it as a playwright in New York. When I got to the last page of the script, I said, I have to shoot this movie. So I interviewed with Lin (director Lin-Manuel Miranda) and brought in my lookbook to show that I had lots of ideas to bring to the table. The first page of my lookbook was just pictures of my childhood. It took Lin a minute to realize these were my childhood pictures and not just references I’d pulled off the Internet. He said it doesn’t get more personal than that. We started talking about New York in 1990, where color, light, and emotions were all heightened. We were both ten years old that year and we wanted the movie to have the 90s New York feel from a childlike perspective. In Jonathan's mind, the line between dreams and reality is sometimes blurred. Q: What was the biggest challenge you faced in shooting tick, tick, Boom?
Q&A
A: The pandemic. We prepped the movie for fourteen weeks, shot for two weeks, and were shut down for six months. When we came back, we were one of the first movies to do so. The movie was ripped out from under us. All our lives changed when it shut down. The challenge after being told to come back was how to make a movie during a pandemic. So we all had to learn together. We had the most amazing group of people. We did another two months of prep and 42 days of shooting. Since theater season was closed, we were able to perform in the theater where Jonathan performed. It became a remarkably intimate and moving experience. Q: You had to shoot in the confines of a bookstore with narrow aisles? Challenges? A: That was tricky. It was a real bookstore in New York. All our locations were really small. We wanted to be true to what New York was in 1990. We had to figure out how to move our camera through that space. We even shot a dance number in that space. The swimming pool was also quite small. You also had to shoot inside a small house and a New York apartment. Again, challenges in setup and lighting? A: I loved that apartment. It reminded me of when I was a kid. We wanted Andrew (Garfield) to have as much freedom as possible so he wasn’t confined to a certain part of the apartment. I HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY• 25
also wanted to have the right sun path and the light bouncing off the buildings across the street. It was both intimate and claustrophobic. When you go into numbers like No-More and Sunday and Swimming, there’s a breadth, a grandness, a space. Andrew is so stuck in that apartment, so you feel the walls sort of caving in on him. Q: And there was the diner scene, which looked busy and cramped. How did you manage that? A: We wanted it to feel chaotic. And because of Covid, we couldn’t pack the diner and have several cameras running. We only had a certain amount of ventilation and space. We packed the frames then shot them in different sections. It was very time-consuming. But it felt like a Sunday morning. Then when the wall comes down, we had the brightest scene in the entire movie. Q: How do you compose a scene to draw out the most emotion the script calls for? A: What’s interesting about working with Lin is that he brought in this idea of workshopping. It’s very specific to theater and to our film set period. He didn’t need all the ideas right away. It was a discovery process. Usually, it’s the storyboard artist and director who sit down, draw out a scene, and create a shot list from that. But Lin had a group of people—including the production designer, the AD, and the writer—working together. The six of us
would sit for three or four hours a day and work out a scene. I never had a writer so readily available. He’d be there with us and rewrite stuff on the spot. And the production designer would have models of the set and show us things that Lin could create, giving us ideas for shots. It was a very organic process of discovery without anything being forced on us. We also had a very long prep period, given the size of this movie. I would take the storyboards and cut them to the pre-recorded music and animatics. And again, we would discover more things about what was working and what wasn’t. Q: When you typically shoot a film, do you sometimes go off script and let your gut take over? A: That was part of the process. We’d see things in the script and realize what was or wasn’t working. One of the things we discovered during prep was the swimming pool had what looked like paper lines at the bottom. The tile in the pool was this beautiful patina New York tile that you only find in old city buildings. We found this perfectly positioned 30 at the bottom of the pool and Lin said, what if Jonathan touches the number 30—an age he is so scared of turning. So that’s how the music appeared in swimming. It represented a single moment of genius for Jonathan. Q: How do you use camera movement to draw out the most emotion from a scene? A: It’s very intuitive. I’d watch dance

rehearsals and part of it is the storyboard process. We had Andrew with us from the very beginning. I would sit in on the rehearsals and just watch as Andrew turned into Jonathan. I think being a good director is getting everyone on board to capture a vision. Lin did that with everyone. He really inspired everyone to understand the movie we were making. So that emotion came from watching eight years of videotape of the real Jonathan Larson. And watching other workshops of the 80s and 90s. We fully immersed ourselves in that world. I also always ask a director for the intention in a scene. I grew up as a child actor, so I liked the idea of giving the camera a direction the same way you'd give an actor. This is why I always ask for one emotion per scene. In asking that, I'm able to tell the story emotionally and use the camera accordingly. Q: I particularly enjoyed the dancers in white on stage. How did you first approach that and did you end up shooting it that way or make changes? A: I loved that scene. It was designed as a single shot. In editing, they cut back to Jonathan’s monologue in the New York theater workshop. We worked with the choreographer to develop that whole sequence and give a subtle lighting queue on Jonathan. It pinpoints the fact that we are in his world, in his story, and everything will be told from Jonathan’s point of view. Q: Any words of wisdom for young cinematographers trying to break into the business? A: I wish that film schools would tell people they need to be in this business at least a decade before they make any money. It takes a long, long time to break into this business. One of my professors once said Hollywood is like a brick wall. Your job is to get to the other side and you do it by throwing bricks against the wall. One day, you'll see just a tiny hole in the wall and that's when you'll want to give up. That’s when you need to push harder because you’re closer than you think. I think this is true for any career in the arts. If you’re not completely in love with this job, find something else. Movie making is hard but it’s also the best thing in the world.

Inspired by his love of rock ‘n roll, Audigier’s career began in his native France and skyrocketed in the U.S. after he licensed the designs of San Francisco tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy in the early 2000s. At the height of his success, he attracted A-list celebrities to skyrocket the popularity of the Ed Hardy and Von Dutch fashion lines that he helmed. Audigier achieved global fame for the rhinestone-studded and graffiti-inspired artwork that decorated hats, T-shirts, jackets, shoes and a vast array of other licensed products. Abell Auction Co. will make history with a rare offering of art, fashion, books, celebrity memorabilia, customized motorcycles and high-end goods from the designer’s private collection. Many sale items from Audigier’s sprawling Los Angeles-area estate are showcased in the 2018 documentary entitled “Christian Audigier the Vif,” which journeys through Audigier’s life after being diagnosed with an aggressive type of blood cancer. PRESIDENT BIDEN'S LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Carmelita
PITTMAN
Celebrated her birthday with God given gifts and blessings
I
t so happens that March 8 is International Women's Day. It is also my birthday and I am celebrating all throughout March. In fact every day that I open my eyes and can see my husband of 46 years, Jerry Pittman , next to my side is cause for celebration. He ventured with me to the exclusive Morgan Run Club & Resort in Rancho Santa Fe not far from San Diego. It is a paradise for golf aficionados with grounds covering several acres. In fact the event for International Women's Day organized by Sharon Doyle was held on those very lush green grounds in a monumental tent complete with chandeliers. This event was attended by nearly 200 ladies, including at least 30 female Marines, and at least two ladies who served in the armed forces during World War 2. That was the time I was still a twinkle in my mother and father's eye but made my entrance soon into the real world. This birthday was beyond my expectations. I had been invited to sing with members of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra directed by John Nettles. I also had the pleasure of meeting an amazing opera singer, Hiroko Yoshinaga as well as Tanae, a young talented singer from Canada, also the lovely Gennine Jackson Trencie who delivered a Whitney Houston number. Before this luncheon event I was interviewed on the red carpet by T.V. host Rosalyn Kahn and whisked off into a room for an interview with podcast radio host Margo Lovett. During the course of the event I noticed Helice Bridges, a feisty octogenarian with white hair dressed in blue who danced exuberantly

and made a presentation of blue ribbons to promote unity through the power of love. Many ladies were honored with beautiful blown glass trophies. I was also surprised with one. Later in the evening my husband and I after resting in our suite at the resort attended the GSFE (Global Society of Female Entrepreneurs) dinner event. This organization was founded by Robbie Motter and enhances and empowers the lives of women. It has 25 chapters throughout the States, Canada and recently opened another in London. I learned that I was the only singer and only honoree. My friends of many years Giovanni Vignati of Italy and his lovely wife Rickey who I had not seen in several years were able to attend. Also Denise Lyles Cook aka the Oracle was in attendance and they were as surprised as I when I was presented President Biden's Lifetime Achievement Award, which included a letter from him and a medallion from the Whitehouse. I wish to acknowledge Joao aka "Rockstar" who engineered my musical performance. I also wish to recognize Michelle Mras, the keynote speaker.
I have reason to celebrate. And may God give me the gift of breath to continue singing for more years to come. It is my pleasure to sing at the Hollywood Weekly Grammy Viewing gala in Santa Monica April 3, 2022. I am accompanied by wonderful musicians , Charlie Harrison on keyboard, Jimmie James on percussion, Budi Winarto on flute and sax, Jerrell Ballard on drums, Paul Maseli on guitar. This is all such a blessing. I live to sing , and sing to live and spread joy with my music.
