In recent years, with the technology progress and rapid development of OLED lighting/display, organic photovoltaic and flexible printed circuit board industry. The upstream industry is also active. At present, the global transparent polyimide film technology is monopolized by the United States, Japan and South Korea; the main producers are MGC, I.S.T Corporation, NeXolve, DuPont, CEN Electronic Material and Hipolyking. Japan is now the world's leading producer and consumer of transparent polyimide films, accounting for 95% of the world's output. MGC is Japan's leading producer and the first commercial producer of transparent polyimide film, which accounts for 93% of the world's transparent polyimide film market. SKC and KOLON are also actively developing transparent polyimide film. SKC plans to mass production in the second quarter of 2017, KOLON plans to begin mass production in the first quarter of 2018. When SKC and Kolon's CPI project is mass produced, South Korea will also become the main producer. Toyobo claims that it has commercialized a transparent PI film, but no mass production related news.
