FROM THE COLLEGE

Online Lessons It has been great to see so many students attending our online lessons which have been taking place since Easter. The teachers really enjoy having an opportunity to properly interact with their classes! As we said in our communication at the beginning of term, these lessons are not compulsory for students (we know how challenging many people’s home schedules and circumstances are) but we would really like to encourage all students to attend- even if you are comfortable with the work you’ve completed each week, it’s a great opportunity to keep in touch with staff and with your classmates. There’s no pressure to have your camera on either it’s absolutely fine for students to keep cameras turned off if they wish to. Many parents and carers have been in touch asking if there’s a way for us to let them know if their sons or daughters have been attending these lessons. In response to this, we have established a new way of reporting this using our existing technology. From Monday, if your son or daughter is absent from an online lesson, you will receive a notification in the Behaviour Point section of Edulink stating that they were absent from this lesson. It is important to note that the tariff on this has been set to “0 Points” and it is in no way intended as a punishment - the notification is simply for your information. All of these notifications will be deleted from the record once the school is fully reopen.

Rainbow Gate Thank you to all those who have already contributed rainbows to display on the College gate. Local residents are invited to attach their own using the cable ties and plastic wallets in the plastic box behind the College sign outside the gate. If you live further afield, please do send in photographs via email and we’ll get them displayed.
