FROM THE MUSIC ROOMS

Music Department News

Private instrumental and singing lessons start on Monday and students must check the Music department noticeboard to find out their day / room and time. Please note - Mrs Sinclair’s flute students must attend in the Conference Room - top of Winton, above Mr Alford’s office. Mrs Sinclair is teaching her lessons remotely from home but a laptop is set up in the Conference Room ready for you to log on to Meets with her.

Healthy and Safety for Private Music Lessons

A number of measures are necessary to enable all private music lessons to take place in individual rooms and we would be very grateful if parents could please take a moment to explain these to their child for the safety of all. A perspex screen has been placed in each teaching room to provide some protection. All students must bring a mouth mask to their music lesson which they will be keeping on if they are a strings, guitars, drums, piano or singing student. Teachers

will not be able to teach your child if they do not have a mask and the

cost of this lesson will not be refunded. Wind and brass players will need to remove them to be able to play but should wear them during periods of not playing. Students must sanitise their hands at the start and end of each lesson. Piano students will have the piano sanitised for them between students and all other instrumentalists must not share instruments. Windows will stay open throughout as will any external doors, so students should wrap up warm if they feel the cold! Students attending remote lessons with Mrs Sinclair in the Conference Room must still sanitise their hands. Teachers will demonstrate from a distance of 1-2 metres for non wind instruments and 2-5 metres for wind based instruments.

Thank you for your support with this.
