Norden Farm Exhibition

We at Holyport Art Department have been involved in the most recent exhibition at Norden Farm - it was an exhibition to celebrate young art talent in the local community. We entered ten students’ work, a panel of judges including TV personality Timmy Mallet, a local Councillor Samantha Raynor, and Brian Ford - chair of the Maidenhead Painting Club, all voted for their favourite piece. I am proud to announce that one of our students was the selected winner - huge congratulations to Millie Preston with her gorgeous piece titled Beauty of the Mind. The panel of judges went on to mention their top ten pieces of work - we were very proud - seven out of their top ten were students from Holyport College. A big well done to all of those students involved:

“Last Thursday afternoon, around 20 people from years 8-10 were invited to complete a workshop by the World Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker. It consisted of us listening to some of his poems with some background context on how they were created to us creating our own poems. It was a great opportunity and we ended up reading some of our poems to the audience." Monique Vasileva

Later that evening students attended Harry Baker's performance at Norden Farm.

"Overall, the experience of the poetry slam at Norden Farm was exciting and enjoyable. Harry Baker is an inspiring entertainer with a witty sense of humour that doesn’t fail to make you laugh." Josephine Mollart
