Dis-Appearances - A SCI-Arc Vertical Studio Lead by Marcelo Spina + This is a proposal for Chef Ferran Adria’s El Bulli Creativity Campus; Located in Cala Montjoi, Spain. + This project is a vessel for exploring ideas of speculative realism, monolithicity & muteness as architecture. + A cluster of buildings on mountain side embrace their disposition as such. Clusters broken from one origin question what role can style or aesthetics play when addressing site plan organization. + All design, drawings, physical models & ďŹ nal presentation materials were completed with Colin Jacobs.
Dogs to Masses - A SCI-Arc Vertical Studio by Hernan Diaz Alonso & Ivan Bernal + This is proposal for a Doghouse, Guesthouse & Mainhouse. + Addressing the literal in architecture as a massing approach [literal dog scan as a starting point] the project embraced the preset associations of the Pitbull Terrier mass and posture; skins, surfaces, and couture shingles were added to accentuate the mass to a level of exuberance which created a mis-reading of mass, scale, proportion, & silhouette to the extent which caused disassociation between skin, furr, and mass. In turn a re-association was triggered between Doghouse, Guesthouse, & Mainhouse. + Produced all presentation and project materials.
