FABRICS FOR UPHOLSTERY

As fabrics for upholstery are usually used for high-traffic areas such as armchairs, sofas, cushions and poufs, they need to be highly durable. When choosing your fabric, consider who will be using it and where it will be placed. If the fabric is going to be exposed to a lot of sunlight, choose one that will not fade easily. If there are children or pets in the home, a stain-resistant material might be a better option. Here are some ideas…

Ethnicraft’s Connected Dots from their Refined Layers collection is created in a Belgian family-owned weaving mill. All of their cushions and throws are manufactured from Jacquard fabrics woven mainly from cotton, linen and wool and these beautiful designs are perfect to mixand-match. The Moderna fabric collection from Mark Alexander combines linearity with texture and colour, and is a nod to multi-cultural, mid-century Brazilian modernism.
