UNRAVELLING THE BEAUTY OF RUGS
Rugs are seen by many as an essential decorative element in interior design, adding warmth, texture and character to any space. Whether you are looking to create a cosy ambience or make a bold statement, these rug inspirations will help you elevate your space to new heights. Bringing the beauty of nature indoors is a prominent trend in home design. Think earthy tones, botanical motifs and organic patterns. Rugs featuring leafy prints, floral designs or even abstract representations of natural landscapes can infuse a space with a sense of tranquillity, harmony and connection to the outdoors. Geometric patterns continue to be a popular choice when it comes to rug design, offering a contemporary and structured aesthetic. From bold stripes and chevron designs to intricate hexagons and diamonds, geometric rugs can add visual interest and an avant-garde touch to any space. Opt for contrasting colours or a monochromatic scheme to create a striking focal point. For those seeking a bold and contemporary statement, abstract rug designs are a go-to. These rugs showcase artistic patterns, asymmetrical shapes and vivid colours, allowing you to introduce a unique and vibrant element to your space. Abstract rugs can be the focal point in a minimalist interior or provide a bold contrast in a more traditional setting.
Texture is a key element in rug design, creating depth and tactile appeal.
Chunky knit rugs, shaggy flokatis and braided jute rugs are some stand-out examples that introduce texture into a space. Layering rugs is another trend that allows you to play with different textures and patterns, adding dimension and visual interest to your floors. Vintage and antique rugs have made a strong comeback in recent years, adding a touch of history and character to modern interiors – blending the old and the new.
Right Reversible by Gan is made using a new and complex hand-looming technique, which is what makes this collection so special. It uses threads of different thicknesses and materials, weaving both wool and linen at the same time on both sides. The side with wool offers high-quality texture and warmth, while the side blending linens gives a lighter feel, ideal in warmer temperatures, making Reversible a highly versatile and innovative floor solution. Right Designed by Piero Lissoni for Antrax IT, the Waffle radiator is an exceptional project that combines technology, energy saving and sustainability with attentive aesthetic research. The heating body is made of 100 per cent recyclable cast aluminum comprising a selection of embossed powder coatings that have been conceived to evoke, including by touch, the historical imagery of cast iron radiators. These are also reinterpreted by Waffle in the surface manufacturing process, which is characterised by a three-dimensional geometric texture. Its material imprint, highlighted by superior heat output and advanced technical performance, is further enhanced by the inclusion of a handle or robe hook, in walnut and natural ash, to ensure the radiator is completely functional in the bathroom. The Waffle module, with water supply only, can be replicated in up to five elements, developed horizontally or vertically (www.antrax.it)
