Curtains can transform a room, aesthetically adding drama or subtle warmth. Choosing the right curtains for a room requires some careful thought. If a room lacks light or has small windows, sheers could be a good option, whereas blackout curtains would be appropriate for a bedroom when you want to block out light in the early morning. Linens have become increasingly popular as they drape well and add a natural organic feel to the room. They are especially ideal for Mediterranean homes because the material allows air to flow through while blocking out dust particles and providing privacy. If the room is restricted in space, go for curtains that do not have bold motifs. A plain curtain hung high can make the room feel larger than it really is.
