Walls: bold impact

Spring Puddles was a collaboration between designers Draga & Aurel and Wall&Decò. The concept behind the design was that resin is as unpredictable as spring rain, leaving its mark in puddles of a thousand shades that reflect all the beauty of nature (www.wallanddeco.com).

WINNING WALLS

The world of wallpapers has had a bumpy ride. For a period, wallpapers were seen by some as old-fashioned and were often left out of interior design schemes. However, over recent years they have made a comeback in a big way, single-handedly transforming the aesthetics of the rooms they adorn. Wallpapers can add warmth, ambience and depth to a space, and if you choose to go for a bold statement design they provide a huge visual impact. A textural wallcovering can change the whole look and feel of the room, making it feel cosier. Don’t be nervous about using wallpaper in darker tones: a wall in dark, sultry shades can be very alluring and evoke a relaxed mood, as well as accentuating whatever you have placed in front of it. Statement walls work best in large spaces, giving the room a focal point, so get creative and express yourself. If wallcoverings are not your bag, then perhaps tiles are an option. Whether you want to create a look that is rustic, luxurious or contemporary minimalist, the tile sector is vast so it is wise to do your research.
