Welcome to the 7th annual African Education Week This year’s conference theme on positive leadership to improve the standard of education is timely and relevant. We have recognised the growing complexity and challenges of leading and managing educational organisations in the midst of relentless change and innovation. It has been argued that one way to learn is to receive advice from successful leaders based on their experiences and wisdom and this year we are proud to introduce you to over 80 leaders from varying backgrounds within the education sector who will discuss the challenges they have faced and the actions they have taken to make their institutions more effective. For me personally, my favourite part of the event is the interaction and audience participation where you can share your experiences and seek advice from our experts and your fellow peers. Join us at the Learning Expo where you can have your questions answered at the ‘App Lab’, which will be manned by educational technology experts who can give you practical, live demonstrations. Attend the ‘TeachMeet’ sessions which will take discussions out of the conference and onto the Learning Expo floor allowing teachers to share good practice and practical innovations that they have delivered on in the last year. And don’t miss the free ‘Learning Expo Seminars’ and the ‘Speed Networking’ where you can expand your network and win amazing spot prizes. The aim of this workshop is to share with participants various ways in which educators can effectively use a Wordpress blog.
