Students ages 15-21 can work directly with homebuilding industry professionals to gain exposure to the trades during the Herdina Construction Trades Camp weekdays, June 5-16, at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead.

A certified instructor supervises all handson activities with industry volunteers and students will learn about several trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing and siding.

Herdina students will also be eligible for post-secondary scholarships to be used in a trades-related field at Minnesota State Community and Technical College or North Dakota State College of Science.

Scholarships Available For High School Students Pursuing Trades Careers

Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation’s scholarship application for high school students is now available at hbcfm. com on the Scholarships page.

Deadline to apply is March 31. Scholarship amounts will be awarded at a $500 minimum. Applicants must plan to enroll in residential construction trades or a related field (plumbing, electrical, building construction technology, construction management, hearting/air conditioning, etc.) at Minnesota State Community and Technical CollegeMoorhead or North Dakota State College of Science-Wahpeton.
