Pass West Fargo Public Schools’ Bond Referendum

Did You Know?

• Fargo residents are eligible to vote in this election if they live in the West Fargo school district! • The $106.9 million bond referendum package includes a new high school and new middle school, art and gifted/talented classrooms, security upgrades, an addition/renovation at Harwood Elementary School, an addition at Horace Elementary School, and turf at all three high schools. • The culmination of these projects will address challenges the district faces including increasing enrollment as well as providing equal opportunity measures and student and staff safety.

U.S. Must Resume Negotiations With Canada On Lumber Trade Deal

From the National Association of Home Builders: The United States and Canada are long-standing trade partners in softwood lumber, which is used to build the American Dream. Yet despite U.S. reliance on Canada to fully satisfy our lumber demand, there is currently no trade agreement in place and, since late last year, there are tariffs averaging just over 20 percent on imports of Canadian softwood lumber. The disruption in trade has driven lumber prices to never before seen levels. Since the beginning of last year, rising lumber prices have added nearly $9,000 to the price of a typical new home and more than $3,000 to the value of a typical multifamily unit.
