Our Story We are Bedding House, a Dutch family business specialized in designing and distributing bed and bath linen. We offer trendy brands in bed and bath textiles, based on knowledge, passion and craftmanship. Our aim is to create the perfect sleeping experience. By following the latest trends in colour and design that respond to the consumer’s desire, to upgrade their bedroom or bathroom and give it a modern look.

Dear business partner We are very proud to present our new autumn/winter ’22 collection. Bedding House contributes to the perfect night’s sleep by continuously innovating, responding to the latest trends in interior design and sharing our knowledge. In addition, we apply very high quality criteria to all of our products. Fitted sheets, duvet covers, decorative cushions and bath textiles are made of high quality cotton, making these products last even longer. Because we are always searching for new opportunities to innovate and to use our knowledge and creativity, we have a lot of new additions we would like to share with you.

Six new Beddinghouse stories That respond to the latest trends in colour and interior. Did you know colour can dramatically affect your moods, feelings and emotions? Colours consist of vibrations, energy. This has an effect on our lives, our bodies and our peace of mind. Read more about colour from page 120.

This season, you see many natural materials and colours in the interior, combined with landscapes and weaving structures. The trend colour gold combined with brass, ochre, terra, earth and brown shades brings a lot of warmth into your interior. The powerful, outspoken colour blue remains popular. Combine this colour with warm terra, classic checks, small motifs and botanical prints to be on-trend. Mauve, previously elected as the colour of the year, is back in full strength this season. Combine with dark green and small prints for a layered effect. Seeking for a positive sparkle? Choose colour! Combine bright colours for an optical mix. The colour green has been an integral part of the interior for years. This season, we see even more (olive) green in the interior, in the form of painted walls, plants, bed textiles and accessories. Olive green combines perfectly with greys, greens and naturals. The colour green also remains popular in the context of sustainability. 5

Innovation: first circular duvet cover

Looking for a duvet cover that’s more environmental friendly? Then choose duvet cover Arvin. 30% of the duvet cover consists of recycled post-consumer waste. To manufacture this duvet cover, textiles are collected and sorted. New yarns are made through a mechanical recycling process. To preserve high quality standards, the recycled cotton is combined with 70% cotton. Thick yarns have been used for this duvet cover that have been gently brushed, making the cover very soft, thick and warm to the touch. Beddinghouse duvet covers made of bamboo/satin New in the Beddinghouse collection is dessin Pantalla, available in the colours natural, blue and green, made from 50% bamboo and 50% cotton satin. The dessin consists of a beautiful colour gradient in both the background and in the small flowers that make the design. The bamboo/ satin mix ensures a silky soft and smooth fabric. 6

KAAT Amsterdam cushions made of post-consumer waste Mix and match our stories with the decorative cushions of KAAT Amsterdam to complete the look. New in our KAAT Amsterdam collection is decorative cushion Reload Aubergine and Renew Grey, made of 100% post-consumer waste. By making use of thicker yarns, it is possible to make decorative cushions 100% circular, without having to compromise on quality. 7

Autumn/winter collection ‘22 New colours in the Beddinghouse Care collection We have extended our essential collection with new fashionable colours. Organic Basic is also available in trend colours Navy and Mauve. Reuse is also available in the colour White from now on. We have also improved our FSC-packaging by adding a PET window, so you can see the fabric, without having to open the box first. Beddinghouse x Van Gogh Museum: new bedspreads Newly added to our autumn/winter ’22 Beddinghouse x Van Gogh Museum collection is the dessin Blossom in the colour Dark Red, made of 100% cotton satin. This design is now available in the following colours: White, Ochre, Green and Dark Red. We have also introduced two beautiful new bedspreads in the collection: Peonies Green and Blossoming Sand. Made of 100% polyester velvet with a digital print inspired by the paintings on the frontside. In addition there are three new decorative cushions. New in our Beddinghouse x Van Gogh Museum kitchen collection are the potholder and ovenmit available in the designs Tournesol Yellow and Blossom Blue. 8

At Home by Bedding House relief printed velvets We have extended our embossed velvet collection with the duvet covers Plants Green and Forgotten Aubergine. Both duvet covers are made of beautiful velvet with a relief print. The design of duvet cover Plants Green consist of a relief print of leafs. The design of duvet cover Forgotten consist of a floral relief print. The aubergine colour fits perfectly with the current trends. The combination of velvet and print gives your bedroom a luxury look and fits perfectly with the current trends. Beddinghouse Dutch Design The collection for autumn/ winter ’22 consists of colourful digital prints, on GOTS qualified organic cotton. For each duvet cover there is a matching fitted sheet of high quality with innovative top label available. An online campaign will be launched to increase brand awareness. Communication Bedding House is focusing increasingly on sustainability. We will print less communication material and provide more digital tools to reduce our environmental footprint. • We have reduced the number of collection books that will be printed. All our collection books are now available on issuu.com. See for yourselves at: www.issuu.com/beddinghouse. You can download or share these publications as well. • Most materials that are left over from a process can be useful for something. Sustainability Already years ago, Bedding House initiated a policy to contribute to a better and more sustainable future. We choose to focus on Product, People and Packaging. Product Bedding House strives to achieve sustainability in the entire production line and the aim is to include the entire process - from the plant to the product - in this goal. Our objective is to use more sustainable fabrics in the future, which do have a smaller footprint. Steps already taken: - Bedding House has been a proud partner of Better Cotton since 2016. Better Cotton’s mision is to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment. All cotton used by Bedding House for our brands is 100% Better Cotton. We have received new regulations from Better Cotton. Use the content we provide, including the Better Cotton statement about the mass balance system. - In our sustainable line Beddinghouse Care we provide qualities including bamboo, lyocell, organic cotton, more sustainable alternatives than regular cotton. What’s more, and equally important, is that these new materials provide the perfect sleeping experience. - The Care line is completed with Organic Basics, made of organic cotton and designs made of recycled cotton carrying the GOTS quality label. - Our brand Beddinghouse Dutch Design carries the GOTS quality mark as well. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognised as the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain. All products comply with the Oeko-Tex label. 14

- We have introduced decorative cushions for KAAT Amsterdam made of 100% recycled postconsumer waste. In addition we have also introduced dessin Arvin in our Beddinghouse collection made of 30% postconsumer waste, combined with cotton to preserve quality standards. - Left over fabrics are used to make nice bags and also to produce facemasks. People We support projects at home and abroad that are primarily concerned with the well-being of people. Bedding House’s products are made in Pakistan, India, Turkey and China and we select our manufacturers in these countries with great care to ensure that good working conditions are in place. We also visit our manufacturers regularly to ensure that products are made to our specifications. Bedding House is supporting Mercy Ships since 2019. Mercy Ships is an international organization providing free medical care in developing countries on board of the largest non-governmental hospital ships of the world. Our sponsorship consists of providing bed textiles for the hundreds of hospital beds on the ship. Packaging Bedding House is highly aware of the adverse effects of plastic on our planet. In order to reduce the usage of PVC, it is our objective to package all our products 100% PVC free. Rethinking the way we design our packaging is one step further down the road to a cleaner environment and a sustainable future. We have already successfully developed sustainable packaging for several of our brands, and are committed to ensure this for all of them in the near future. What colour can do

Did you know colour can dramatically affect moods, feelings and emotions? So don’t underestimate the influence of the colours you use in your bedroom. Beddinghouse has created six different stories all in line with the latest trends and with different colour scheme’s to meet the consumer’s desire. Let’s dive into emotions and feelings some colours can evoke. Ochre The colour ochre has the property of bringing joy and happiness. It’s a timeless warm colour that can be used in many ways in your interior. The colour is synonymous with sunshine, thereby spreading the effect of light and happiness. Ochre is also associated with intellect and prosperity, due to its close associations with the colour gold. It automatically uplifts people’s spirits making the room feel bright and sunny, everything you need to start your day cheerfull and energized. Mauve Mauve is the perfect trend colour for those that love purple, but want a colour that’s more subtle and neutral. Mauve embodies many of the aspects and traits of purple, however it’s more diluted, less strong and less prominent. Mauve is the hue of decadence, youth, and femininity. We want to minimise the impact of our products on the environment and therefore strive to use sustainable materials. Our main source of raw material is cotton. The cultivation and processing of cotton has a major impact on the environment, which is why our focus is on finding sustainable alternatives. The bed linen from the Beddinghouse Care collection is made from materials that disperse moisture well, have antibacterial properties and are generally easier to recycle. The amount of water used in the production of these materials is considerably less than that used in the production of more traditional materials, also fewer chemicals such as pesticides, bleach and cheap and dangerous additives such as microplastics are used. In order to further increase sustainability, PVC is no longer used in the Beddinghouse Care collection packaging. The packaging is made out of cardboard that has the FSC label, this means that the raw material for the cardboard comes from responsibly managed forests.

Lyocell Lyocell is made from the cellulose fibres from beech trees. These trees can be grown using waste water and fewer harmful solvents. The cultivation process is very environmentally because the tree needs less water, pesticides and fertilizer to grown. In addition to this, lyocell has antibacterial qualities, an excellent moisture absorbing capacity and offers optimal ventilation.

Bamboo Bamboo fibres have a natural, rapid growth and is known to improve soil fertility, reduce soil erosion and absorb CO2. Bamboo is antibacterial and therefore does not require the use of pesticides during cultivation. This unique collaboration between Beddinghouse and van Gogh Museum is a source of endless inspiration for our Beddinghouse design team and has resulted in a very special collection of bedroom, bath and kitchen textiles.. This season our design team created one new duvet cover, two bedspreads and three new cushions to add to the successful bedroom collection. The new designs are, of course, based on Van Gogh’s famous paintings, each telling a story of dreams, passion and beauty. The painting was a gift for his brother marking the birth of his son and consequently, Van Gogh’s godson. Vincent chose the branches of the almond tree as a symbol of new life for the almond is one of the earliest trees to blossom, heralding spring in February. This duvet cover features Almond Blossom branches against a dark red background with canvas print.

Landscape at Twilight Van Gogh made this evening landscape in the fields near Auvers, with a view of the local castle. He rendered the tangled black branches of the pear trees with a flurry of black brushstrokes. This reinforces the contrast between the dark trees and the luminous yellow sky. The painting seems somewhat like a panorama because of its wide format. It is one meter wide and 50 centimeters high. Starting in June 1890, Van Gogh made a total of thirteen works with these dimensions. All but one are landscapes. He cut the canvases himself from a large roll.

Field with Poppies In May 1888 Van Gogh stayed in Arles, in the South of France. Upon his arrival from Paris that February, he had been inspired by the region’s broad landscapes. Van Gogh used bright, unmixed colours. This work illustrates what he had learned in Paris. There he had encountered a variety of new art movements, including Impressionism and Pointillism. As soon as he arrived in the southern city of Arles, he began painting his surroundings. He tried to use everything he had learned to find a style of his own.

Van Gogh painted this still life in the psychiatric hospital in Saint-Rémy. For him, the painting was mainly a study in colour. He set out to achieve a powerful colour contrast. By placing the purple flowers against a yellow background, he made the decorative forms stand out even more strongly. The Irises were originally purple. But as the red pigment has faded, they have turned blue. Van Gogh made two paintings of this bouquet.

Almond Blossom In January 1890 Theo wrote to Vincent that his wife Johanna had given birth to a son. The baby was to be named Vincent Willem, after his godfather. As a gift for the new arrival Vincent painted a picture of one of his favourite subjects, large branches of blossom against a blue sky. He thought that the work could be hung above the marital bed. Vincent chose the branches of the almond tree as a symbol of new life for the almond is one of the earliest trees to blossom, heralding spring in February. The artist drew his inspiration for the welldefined contouring and positioning of the tree in the picture plane from Japanese prints.

Small Bottle with Peonies and Blue Delphiniums Van Gogh painted this flower still life on a simple piece of card,using rapid, loose brushstrokes. It is one of many studies in which he experimented with the effects of different colours on each other. His brother Theo wrote to their mother: 'He is mainly painting flowers, with the aim of making future pictures brighter in colour'. Theo wrote that acquaintances were giving Van Gogh a bunch of flowers every week. This was one of the first bunches he painted; many more were to follow.

Boulevard de Clichy Boulevard de Clichy is one of the major streets in the Paris district of Montmartre, where many artists lived. Van Gogh painted the junction that he often crossed. Rue Lepic, where he lived with his brother Theo, began on the right, just beyond the edge of the picture. In Paris, Van Gogh was exposed to the latest art movements of his day, Impressionism and Pointillism. This gradually led him to use lighter colours. He also experimented with a variety of painting techniques. His style of brushwork, with many dashes of paint side by side, shows the influence of these art movements. In the same paintings, he also tried out diluted oil paint.

Along with the tree trunk on the right, it brings depth to the scene.

Wild Roses Towards the end of his stay in the psychiatric facility in Saint-Rémyde-Provence, Van Gogh regains a serenity and joy of life that he had almost forgotten. He writes to his mother and tells her that watching the budding flowers is good for his health. Apart from his famous Irises (1889), he paints white roses. The subject, the technique, close-up, black outlines, and lack of background refer to the Japanese print art. A few years before, Van Gogh discovered several Japanese woodblock printing artists in Paris, who practiced this refined and elegant art. He is very impressed with their work and often uses their techniques.

Van Gogh had always used generous amounts of paint. But after discovering the flower still lifes of Adolphe Monticelli (18241886) in June 1886, he went one step further. That French artist painted colourful bouquets with thick paint and emphatic brushstrokes. Van Gogh compared them to liquid clay. In still lifes such as Vase with Chinese Asters and Gladioli, you can see how thickly he began applying the paint to the canvas in his own flowers. The vase shown here has been preserved and is now in the Van Gogh Museum collection. It is smaller in reality than in the painting.

A symphony in blue and yellow was how Van Gogh thought the interior of the yellow house should appear when Gauguin arrived. He wanted to impress his friend with a series of decorative still lifes of sunflowers. These still lifes were to grace the walls of Gauguin’s bedroom and be framed with ‘thin slats of wood, painted in red lead’. Van Gogh started the series with great ardour. He had to work quickly as the flowers quickly wilted in a vase: ‘I am painting with the enthusiasm of a resident of Marseilles eating bouillabaisse [Provençal fish soup], which shall not surprise you, when it involves painting large sunflowers’. Gauguin considered the paintings highly successful and declared that sunflowers should be Van Gogh’s trademark. In 1889 Van Gogh tackled the motif once more, in this canvas now in the Van Gogh Museum.

We design two collections each year for our own brands such as Beddinghouse, Kardol, At Home by Bedding House and KAAT Amsterdam, but also for renowned (international brands) such as Pip Studio, Auping, Oilily, Rivièra Maison, Marjolein Bastin and vtwonen. Sustainable packaging We are highly aware of the adverse effects of plastic on our planet. In order to reduce the usage of PVC, we use sustainable packaging for the collection of At Home by Bedding House. The duvet covers are packaged in a fabric bag. This fabric bag is made of the same fabric as the duvet cover. Not only a unique way to see and feel the fabric, but the bag can also be reused as a fashion item.

The smallest overlooked details are mainly the lead for Marjolein‘s work: a lonely ladybug, a happy butterfly, small flowers in the field, all moments in nature which are captured in the work of Marjolein. Marjolein‘s passion for nature has started at a young age. A strong desire to share this passion with others resulted in drawings which are appreciated by millions of people. All the designs show her love for nature and emphasize that happiness can be found close to home.
