The Pair That’s Always There By Kimberly Gomes or Jim and Jimmy Nappo reliability and availability are the cornerstones of life. Whether it’s being there for clients or making time for family, the father-son team knows the value of honest, healthy relationships. “The most satisfying comment we get is that we’re always available. People who have had prior real estate experience sometimes complain that they can’t reach their agent. They don’t always know what’s going on. We’re constantly focused on responding to every phone call, text, or email promptly and I think people value that,” Jim says. Based on Jim’s 25 years of real estate expertise, the team comes with the kind of wisdom that only derives from experience. The 40-year mid-peninsula resident entered the industry in 1989 after 30 years in computer system sales. His tenure in the real estate community has given him first-hand experience of multiple markets. Since his second year in the business Jim has been a consistent top producer, ranking in the Presidents Club year after year. Much like his father, Jimmy had a natural knack for sales. After earning his marketing degree Jimmy consistently landed in the top 1%, while selling for local distribution and high tech companies. Since joining forces 12 years ago the father and son have become a reputable team, representing a wide range of clientele in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and its surrounding areas. “We both have been salespeople our whole lives...I think the wisdom, the experience, dad’s civil engineering background, and my marketing education offer a nice blend,” says Jimmy. Yet, their background is just the foundation of their ongoing success. The pair has a range of advertising strategies in place, helping sellers reach a diverse pool of buyers from Silicon Valley to Russia, China,

and India. Both are also firm believers in representing their clients without any aid from assistants, ensuring both sellers and prospective buyers receive clear, quality responses whenever needed. “We focus our attention on being available. When we have new listings one of us is always at the Realtor open house, while other agents have their assistants there. We realize the negotiation actually begins at that first meeting and we’re there to do that,” says Jim. The team also excels in project management. With years of experience both Jim and Jimmy know how critical proper presentation is. “Some properties have a major project management issue that needs to be handled and that’s where we thrive. We don’t necessarily recommend that people remodel, but we’ll get a house looking from ‘you don’t want to go into to it’ to ‘maybe I don’t want to sell my house.’ It looks that good afterwards. That’s our sweet spot,” says Jimmy. When they’re not prepping properties and negotiating sales the two spend plenty of quality time with their families. Jim and his wife Barbara have been married for over 50 years. They are the proud parents of Chris, Angela, Melissa, and Jimmy, and also have 11 grandchildren all of whom live in the Bay Area. Jimmy has been married to his wife Jenny for 13 years and has two girls, Courtenay and Taylor, both of whom attend Huff Elementary School in Mountain View. While the pair loves to travel and expose their families to new places, they vow to never vacation simultaneously, ensuring both their loved ones and clients have their full attention when it matters most. Known to the community for his generous heart and steadfast integrity Steve Bellumori, will truly be missed. The Coldwell Banker Realtor passed away of a heart attack on August 14th at 65-years-old. The loving father and husband is survived by his wife, Darline, who he met during the Peace Corps in Africa, and his two sons. Described as an authentic, caring, smart, and funny gentleman it comes as no surprise Steve’s passing comes at a great loss to the Menlo Park community. “I worked for Steve for over 25 years, and he was not only a great boss but he became a dear friend. He was a generous man with a big heart, a great sense of humor and an ever present smile. It was a pleasure just being with him,” says Carol Bunker of Coldwell Banker. “Steve was a person of integrity and someone you could always trust to do the right thing.” For over 35 years the esteemed broker has guided local residents through real estate matters with honesty and precision. Admired by his peers, Steve was seen as both a friend and mentor to many of his colleagues. “Steve was an agent’s agent. When I would go on vacation I would give our agents the number to another manager, but everyone always called Steve. They had that much trust in him,” says Wendy McPherson, Broker Manager of the Coldwell Banker Menlo Park and Woodside/Portola Valley


offices. “Steve was not only wildly financial successful, but he was very friendly and open hearted too. You just completely trusted him.” The Menlo Park broker also played an integral role in creating PRDS forms, and served as leading member PRDS Standard Forms Committee for twenty-two years. “Steve was ardent in advocating and working to ensure that PRDS continue to provide the very best tools available for agents on the Peninsula and South Bay. The continued importance of PRDS owes much to his passion,” says said SILVAR Executive Officer, Paul Cardus. Beyond his remarkable contributions to the real estate community Steve was also appreciated for his cheerful attitude, a trait that made him a pleasure to be around. “You never heard anything negative out of his mouth. He always looked on best side of things. He didn’t want to be around negative people, and he never carried a grudge. It sounds too good be true, but he really was the last person that should’ve left this earth,” says McPherson. A notably gracious man, Steve was a founding member of the Menlo Atherton High School’s Foundation for the Future, an organization that supports economically challenged students in the community. In keeping with his values, The M-A Partnership for Success connects at-risk students with comprehensive services on and off campus. As a tribute to Steve, Coldwell Banker will host a “Bells Ring For Bellumori” holiday event

on Tuesday, Dec. 2nd from 5-8 p.m. at LB Steak in Menlo Park. All donations will go towards the Steve Bellumori Memorial Fund in support of the Partnership for Success. The fund has already received $34,000 to date, illustrating the profound impact Steve has had on the community. “It wasn’t long after I met Steve that I learned what an incredible unconditional humanitarian, associate and friend he was. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew him. We are blessed that Steve left his amazing footprints for us to follow,” says Coldwell Banker Realtor, Lehua Greenman.
