CAREGiver of the Year
We are delighted to announce that we have nominated Julia Kirkman as Home Instead Senior Care York & Ryedale’s 2018 CAREGiver of the Year. Despite only joining us in October last year, Julia made an instant impression on us and all her clients. She epitomises what we look for in a CAREGiver, getting on quietly in the role but never failing to go that extra mile for those she cares for. Well done Julia!
Afternoon tea at the Bothy On the afternoon of Wednesday 12th September, we will be hosting an English Afternoon Tea for Clients, at Dean’s Garden Centre’s Bothy. There are only limited spaces available so please let us know if you can think of a client you’d like to bring along. We are looking for CAREGivers that could help in the collecting, bringing and hosting of a table at the Bothy for the afternoon. Give Daphne a call on 01904 690884 if you’d be interested.

CAREGivers graduate Massive congratulations to CAREGivers Sophie and Cat who both graduated this month. Sophie received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Cat a 2:1 in Criminology. Well done ladies, what a talented bunch of CAREGivers we have!

Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s Home Instead York & Ryedale have entered a team to take part in the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk, taking place at the York Knavesmire on 1st September 2018. The aim of the walk is to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society, so that they can continue to do research into dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society research programme aims to improve care for people with dementia today and finding a cure for tomorrow. It’s our aim to be the care provider of choice in York and Ryedale, whether it is for people working in care or for those receiving care. That’s why we bought the holiday home at Amble Links for the people who do an amazing job supporting Home Instead Senior Care clients. As well as the incredible beaches and castles of Northumberland on the doorstep, there’s a pool and gym together with a pub and restaurant on site – everything you need for a relaxing break. There’s no rental cost to use the holiday home – this is one of the benefits of being part of the Home Instead team. We just ask for a small contribution of £70 towards gas, electricity and running costs each time you stay.
