‘Elizabeth Is Missing’ by Emma Healey is a wonderful mystery novel based around a murder that took place decades ago. The only person on the case is Maud who has dementia and is rather forgetful but is also determined to solve what happened to Elizabeth. As well as a compelling story with clever and interesting clues it also gives an unforgettable insight into dementia and its impact on both the person and the people around them. It’s a wonderful read and a book you just can’t put down.
