n August 2003 the U.S. Postal Inspection Service requested NCMEC's assistance in identifying victims in images of child pornography. Exploited Child Unit (ECU) analysts recognized the victims from images they had seen in the past, but were able to find a significant amount of investigative clues in these particular photographs. When a county sheriff's vehicle in the photograph was determined to be from Pinellas County, Florida, ECU analysts immediately contacted the sheriff's office and an investigation began. Another photograph of the same victims sent to NCMEC's CyberTipline showed the children on a Yamaha Wave Runner, on which the state registration number was clearly visible.
