In West Hawai‘i, the $9 million first phase of the Kailua District Park revitalization will include building a park road, landscaping, parking,

and a cultural resource area. Since our administration took office in 2008, we’ve invested over $1 million in playgrounds to keep our youngest residents active and healthy. Our plan for 2014 and beyond includes $2 million in new playground development at sites islandwide. We will also invest over $8 million in maintenance, accessibility and safety improvements to parks facilities islandwide. Each one of these investments will benefit our children, our families, and our community, and each one is an investment worth making.
