The North Central Missouri College Foundation is once again offering scholarships to area high school students currently enrolled in an NCMC Dual Credit Course. The Jack N. Young, Mildred M. Young, Noble J. Young, and Myra A. Young Dual Credit Scholarship is awarded to dual credit students that fall within the NCMC 17 county service area. This one-time $324 scholarship can assist dual credit students with their tuition.

Applications are due by 4:00 pm on February 3 and should include a 300-word essay where students are asked to describe how NCMC’s dual credit courses will help assist them with their future plans and how the scholarship will benefit them financially. “The NCMC Foundation is honored to once again offer this scholarship to our area dual credit students,” commented NCMC Foundation Executive Director Alicia Endicott.

“The Young family knew the importance of an education, and their generosity to the Foundation has created several scholarship programs to benefit all NCMC students. Being able to earn college credit while still in high school prepares students for the next step in their educational journey and lessens their financial burden after high school graduation.”

NCMC Dual Credit Students can access the schol- arship application through myCOMPASS on the NCMC website, www.ncmissouri.edu. The Trenton Kiwanis Club will host its 5th Annual Trivia Night on Saturday, March 11. The event will be held at the Black Silo Winery and is a fundraiser for the local club. The contest will get underway at 6:30pm, with doors opening at 5:30pm. Concessions will be available.

There will be four rounds of trivia with fifteen questions in each round. Teams will also have a chance to earn points by participating in the Team Spirit contest; whereby teams are encouraged to decorate their table and dress according to their selected team name. Additional points will be awarded to the top three teams who best depict their chosen theme. Teams who register by February 10 will be able to select a category of play for the trivia contest.

Each team will consist of 6-8 adults (18 and over).

Entry fee for a team is $120. Teams may register online by going to https://tinyurl.com/TrentonKiwaniTriviaNight or they can find a link to the registration site on the Trenton Kiwanis Club Facebook page. Once registered, teams will be invoiced and can pay online with debit or credit card. Teams needing to register with a paper copy or who need to pay with cash or check can see Kara at Dave’s Body Shop in Trenton. Team space is limited, so be sure to register early. Early registrants will be given preferential seating. Due to space limitations, admittance will be limited to team members only.
