DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATER TO RETURN TO ORANGE COUNTY, CA Local Drive-In Movie to Showcase Classic Cinema, Vintage Cars, Live Music, Food Trucks and More at Oak Canyon Ranch

On Saturday, September 15th, 2012, Dead Ringers Ride & Drive-In will debut at Oak Canyon Ranch in Orange County, CA. Locals in cars and motorcycles will drive up to watch ‘80s cult flick “The Lost Boys” on a four story drive-in movie screen. Dinner and movie snacks will be provided by food trucks and concession stands on site, and live music will be performed by local indie rock band The Union Line. Other event festivities include carnival rides, vendor booths, and a raffle to win an ‘81 Honda CB650 motorcycle. Six hours of entertainment will be available to Orange Countians at a recessionfriendly $10 per personal ticket. In an era of virtual social ties, Dead Ringers Ride & Drive-In seeks to bring back the popular social network of the 1950s: the drive-in movie. The key to making the event different from failed drive-ins of the past is creating an event larger than just a movie. Dead Ringers founders Amy Hood, Jennifer Hood and Lindsey Bro intend to do this by adding other entertainment to the night that appeals beyond the film to a varied audience. The drive-in is expecting to draw 2,000 people, from tweens to active adults, who will come to see the classic car and bike show, take photos in the retro styled photo booth, ride the lake paddle boats, listen to the local bands lineups, and then wind down for a film. The event will take place at Oak Canyon Ranch, a large property on the outskirts of Tustin and Irvine. Set apart just enough to feel beyond the Orange Curtain, and close enough to most of South and Central County to be closer than Disneyland, Dead Ringers will be an escape that’s just a few miles away. Overnight camping is also offered just up the road from the ranch for a real night away from the hustle and bustle of urban OC. Tickets are currently being pre-sold at www.indiegogo.com/ deadringers. For more information visit www.deadringersdrivein.com. About Dead Ringers Ride-In & Drive In: Dead Ringers Ride & Drive In was started in early 2012 by three twins, a pair and a spare, living and working in Orange County: Jennifer Hood, Amy Hood and Lindsey Bro. The drive-in will be a limited engagement season offering 4 shows through the end of the year. Drive-in events will start at 5:30pm on a weekend night, with live bands starting at 7:00pm and the film starting at 8:15pm. Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are available. Dead Ringers is pairing with schools and charities to donate portions of ticket sales to worthy local causes. ### For more information or to schedule an interview with the Dead Ringers founders, contact Ella Newman at press@deadringersdrivein.com or 310-200-3658.

GIVING BACK

to orange county schools Who: San clemente High school AVID Program

hat AVID is: A college and life skills preparatory program designed to ready students for W their future educational and career paths. • AVID impacts 105 schools, 17 districts and has 12,000 students in Orange County. • Offered as an elective class, students must apply to be a part of the AVID program. With a focus on instruction, tutorial, efficiency, motivation, and planning techniques, students receive the academic survival skills necessary to achieving larger life goals. AVID students are taught the importance of planning, self-discipline, personal ownership and responsibility from as early as middle school. What dead ringers wants to do:

• Provide crucial funding for the SCHS AVID program. • Offer a college or secondary education scholarship to eligible SCHS AVID students. • Provide real work experience and volunteer opportunities for SCHS AVID students.

How:

• At the door, movie-goers note they are here on behalf of AVID and $1 of their ticket will go to the night’s AVID Fund. • 30% of raised proceeds from the night go to the Dead Ringers Ride & Drive-In Scholarship Fund for an eligible SCHS AVID student pursuing secondary or trade school education. • 70% of proceeds goes to program funding for the SCHS AVID program. • At the discretion of the AVID Coordinator, a check will either be written at the end of each Dead Ringers event, or at the culmination of the drive-in season.

Our Impact:

• Dead Ringers will aid in providing crucial funding for OC AVID students in 2012. • Dead Ringers will give students volunteer opportunities at the Dead Ringers Ride and Drive-In to increase their community service hours. • Dead Ringers will provide real work experience and internship opportunities for students to learn about large scale event production, planning, and marketing.
