Winter and Spring 2021
Greetings! We hope 2021 is off to a great start for you and your patrons! Here at hoopla, we’re looking forward with great optimism to all the possibilities the new year has to offer. We’re excited to share that our hoopla Flex beta program is underway, giving libraries the option to transfer and grow their legacy one-user one-copy digital collections into the hoopla experience—all without platform fees. Contact your sales rep to learn more. February will mark the quarterly return of our Bonus Borrows program that offers many great titles at no cost to libraries and no borrow cost for patrons. And February also brings the return of our popular Graphic Novel Book Club. See page 11 for more information on Bonus Borrows and the Graphic Novel Book Club. The beginning of a new year also brings with it the chance to slow down, to reflect and learn. Our observances encourage that sentiment—February is Black History Month, which offers us the opportunity to look back and hear stories that haven’t always been told. In this way we grow together into a stronger future. This is also a wonderful time to dive into the work of incredible Canadian authors and artists, which we highlight on pages 6-7. Let us say once again how inspired we have been and continue to be by the way our partner libraries have continued to serve their communities in the wake of COVID-19. All of us here at hoopla are proud to be a part of your efforts, and we look forward to working with you throughout 2021 and beyond to support your library’s important work as an integral part of your patrons’ lives.
