2015 Annual Report Presenting Every Youth Complete in Christ
Road Map to Hope For Youth Mission We build and maintain long-term Christian mentoring relationships with urban youth to challenge and enable them to reach their full potential spiritually, academically, and socially.
Vision “Presenting every youth complete in Christ.” Colossians 1:28
Youth Our target youth are at-risk, urban youth in grades 6th-12th from the greater Houston area. A unique focus of HFY is that we seek out transient youth, including those from the Star of Hope homeless ministries, and proactively maintain relationships with them regardless of where they may move throughout Houston. We seek to be a point of consistency within their lives, which typically lack stability.
“
Hope For Youth has literally saved my life. I was at a point in my life where I wanted to commit suicide, I didn’t want to be alive anymore. But I built friendships through Hope For Youth to the point where they started introducing me more and more to God and to church and what God really did for me. It changed my life.

1 Hope For Youth | 2015 Annual Report
Dear Friends,
It is truly exciting to move into FY2016 with such amazing opportunities opening for this Ministry to serve our urban at-risk youth. As Chair of the Board of Directors, I encourage you to review our successes in this report, as well as on our newly-designed website. Our Volunteers are the heart of HFY, and the Board has followed through on our commitment to provide excellent training for these valued supporters. Each month our drivers, food servers, and prepared group leaders make Friday Night Live a time of real growth and fun as youth come to know Christ more fully in fellowship. Our Mentorship program is tailored to current youth needs for solid faith-based role models who show caring through long-term relationships. The new curriculum for College and Career Prep brings guidance for our youth who want to break the cycle of economic adversity and develop the skills to follow their dreams under the Grace of our Lord. Our Service projects focus our youth on their true ability to give back and see themselves as capable contributors to their society. Each year many youth come to know Christ or rededicate their lives at our always successful Jesus N The ‘Hood event. Life-changing camp experiences give at-risk youth the courage and skills to stand up for right choices among their peers.
As we approach our quarter century mark as a vibrant youth ministry, I want to thank you for your prayers, your financial support, and your time and talent contributions that have made so much possible for our students by this Ministry. I pray the Lord richly bless each of you in the coming year as we continue to stay true to our Vision Statement based on Colossians 1:28 “Presenting every youth complete in Christ” Shalom, Diane Davis, Chair

Ely’s Story “About two years ago me and my mom came into a really bad situation and ended up in a homeless shelter. It was overwhelming. God spoke to me saying ‘I’m here, just call on my name, I’ll get you out of this.’ Before that I was really angry needing to forgive me mom, my family and the people who’ve hurt me the most in my life. It’s amazing to show my friends that I’m living my life for Christ now. Hopefully I encourage others to do the same. God is the definition of love, if he could do that for everyone, give up his life…that’s legitimate love.”
