HOPE DIES LAST

C E L E B R AT I N G B UDAP EST

BU DA PEST When we moved to Budapest we had a heart to go ‘upstream’ to engage the issues connected with human trafficking. We’ve spent the last 5 years focused intently on impacting the human component of this injustice not the trafficking element. All of our work is done with that in mind as we engage with people eye to eye either on the street or in safe homes. For us, our success is measured not just through numbers but through the much more intangible qualities of personal restoration, freedom and renewed hope. Ultimately, these qualities aren’t revealed on spreadsheets but over years. Be encouraged as you read through these figures that the numbers aren’t what matters most but they represent what does - human life touched and changed by truth and hope.

EDUCAT I O N & TRAINING It’s critical that as we work to counteract human trafficking we remain sharp and connected. As we’ve grown in knowledge and experience we’ve passed that on through a variety of avenues. Our heart is to continue to be an inclusive and intentional organization committed to working with people from all spheres of society.

ART/M ED I A Creativity is our cornerstone and we believe it is a necessary ingredient to push back against injustice. We enjoy opening avenues for creative professionals to give their skill and time to serve effectively alongside us. Additionally, we use our art to illustrate the humanity behind the statistics and to promote empathy in our community for victims of trafficking. We provide like-minded organizations throughout Europe with the services they need to promote or present themselves or a facet of their work. from LO CA L A R T

ST R E ET P R O ST I T U TION MI N I ST RY Every night in some streets surrounding Budapest, women work to sell sex to men driving by. Many of these women are abused and exploited by their pimps and don’t see a way out. We visit them often offering friendship, prayer and help. Practically we clean the streets which protects them from unnecessary fines, in addition to giving them useful gifts which promote dignity and safety.

SERVING THE SAFEHOUSE Our organization was founded on the idea of serving others and we’ve been faithful to weave this mission into every aspect of our work. When we moved to Budapest we looked for local needs that we could meet and existing projects we could partner with. We’re thankful for all we’ve learned through the years we’ve partnered with this Hungarian-led safe house and transition home.

THE BOOK OF LOVE

FROM

“ On Wednesday nights we hand out these beautiful little books of love which detail the life of Jesus and explain concepts like grace and love. However, we can never be certain if the women actually read them. I recently asked G. if she’d had a chance to read the book. “Yes!” she said. “Nearly twice now.”” — ALABASTER JAR (Germany)

“ Zsófia* was delighted we came out to give her a rose and a gift bag. She’d only ever been given one flower before in her whole life and was really touched by this simple gesture.”

THE STREETS

“ I’m currently in the process of discovering who I am. Right now I’m dealing with the transition of having to deal with the pain from my past while discovering who I am in the present. God gave me an identity, which I am seeing more and more clearly. I’ve started to respect myself in a new way. In the photo, the black jacket represents my past, the flower crown, my newfound identity. I’m in the middle of it.” – Lydia*
