What Is HopeLGBT Andi explained what HopeLGBT is – a campaign which represents Students at Hope who define into a minority sexuality/gender which campaigns on their behalf, organises social events and also provides signposting to events. Budget Andi Herring explained how the HopeLGBT budget works, how each Liberation campaign begins with £700 (£200 of which in the control of the LGBT Officer, £500 in the control of the steering meeting) and beyond this the campaign can apply for funding to forums, sponsors and funds. He explained that the £200 of the officer budget was spent for Liverpool Pride and that in the previous year the officer was given full control and held accountable for this spending at the following meetings. It was implied that this would be the case for this year and he is to report spending at the next meeting. Ideas that were raised were: Campaigns – International (inc. Uganda Pride), Blood Donation, Faith (inc. talks), IDAHO, Sport, Stonewall Ranking Improvements, Equal Marriage, Gender Neutral Forms. Socials – Trips (inc London, Canal Street), Quiz, Inter-Uni Socials, Pride (Inc Pride is a protest), Film Nights (around themes of campaigns), Fundraising, Sports, Our Place Bar events. It was also suggested that there should be another ‘Love Music Hate Homophobia’ event planned for this year (straight after the Christmas holidays) and should be looked into holding this in the same

venue (Slug & Lettuce). It was decided that Andi Herring would apply for £200 funding at the upcoming cycle to fund this. Member’s availability for events was also collected – the majority of dates were – Sundays(3), Thursdays (4), Monday(1), Wednesdays (1), and general Weekday Nights (1).
