How to Batch Resize Images and Canvas with Faststone  

Open Faststone Browse to the folder that contains the images to be modified

In the right pane select the images that are to be modified. To select more than one hold the <CTRL> key as you left click To select a range of images hold the <SHIFT> key as you left click

In the Tool Bar select Batch Convert

In the pop up Batch window check that all the images appear in the right hand frame. Add any that are missing by clicking on them in the left frame and then clicking Add.

Tick the Use Advanced Options Box

Click the Resize tab. Select the required width and height

Click Preserve Aspect Ratio to retain the correct proportions for the image.

 

Click Canvas Enter the Canvas Size required (e.g; 400 x 300)

Click DPI. Change to the required DPI (e.g; 90 is typical for web images)

Click OK

Browse to the folder where you want to save the converted file For Actinic use Documents/Actinic/Site1/Images

Click Convert

The images will now be resized and the canvas created as 400 x 300. It will also adjust the resolution to the DPI selected. 

When the conversion is complete click on Done to finish
