What does an apprenticeship involve?
Apprenticeships are designed with employers and offer a structured programme that helps you to develop the industryspecific skills your employer needs for you to undertake your job to a high standard.
Employers are responsible for paying their apprentices’ wages. 80% of the training is ‘on-the-job’ at the employer premises working alongside experienced staff, while the remaining 20% of the training is delivered ‘off-the-job’ in college.
