Course summary
This course is a general, non-specialist Business pathway which will allow you to complete a Level 5 qualification without committing to a particular professional specialism. You will gain a sound understanding of knowledge and skills across a range of disciplines including Marketing, Human Resources, Management, Law and Finance. Students can either progress onto university to top up to a degree and specialise at this stage or gain employment and pursue professional qualifications. Careers linked to this qualification include: Financial Advisor, Business Manager, Human Resources Manager, Sales and Promotions Marketing Executive, or Paralegal. If you are not yet clear on your ultimate career pathway then this is an ideal qualification designed to develop high level skills leading to a wide range of employment opportunities.

Course Content
The units offered cover a range of businessrelated skills and will enable you to decide on your preferred career specialism. They will include: • Marketing essentials • Human resource management • Management and operations • Management accounting • Business law • Organisational behaviour
In addition to the vocational units the course will include two projects. In the first year you will be asked to manage a business project requiring you to undertake research, demonstrate well informed decision making and solve problems. In the second year you will be asked to undertake a research project which will draw on the areas of study across the two years.
