Employers and universities require you to have a good command of English and Maths. We can help you to improve these skills.
If you have not achieved grade C/level 4 in GCSE English Language and/or maths you can access our classes for FREE. We offer GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications and will work with you to find the best route to your achievement and success with these subjects. Whatever your level of confidence, we will do our best to make sure you reach your full potential in English and Maths.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
If English is not your first language and you would like to improve your level of reading, writing, speaking and listening then we have the course for you.
We offer ESOL courses from Pre-Entry to Level 2 and include the option of studying Maths and ICT/Digital Skills alongside ESOL. Studying ESOL is more than just an education, it can help improve your quality of life and your ability to carry out everyday tasks.
Enjoy learning English language at our popular ESOL department. We will help you improve your English reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in classes with students from all over the world. You will also learn English to support you in your daily lives and progress into employment or further study.

Can I get help with my course fee?
Many of our courses are FREE for Eligible Learners, this is shown in the course details. You may be eligible for a FREE course if you are:
• Unemployed and in receipt of an income-based benefit (for example JSA, ESA or Universal Credit)
• A GM resident, employed and earning below the governments threshold
• A Non devolved area resident, employed and earning less than the governments threshold
• Aged 19-23 and studying for your first full Level 2 qualification on an eligible course*
• Aged 19-23 and studying for your first full Level 3 qualification on an eligible course*
• GCSE English and Maths and Functional Skills are FREE if you have not achieved a grade C/Level 4 or above)

Advanced Learner Loans
Many of our adult learners pay for their Level 3 and above courses with an Advanced Learner Loan. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there are no credit checks.
You only need to start paying back your Advanced Learner Loan when you are earning more than the governments threshold. See www.xxxx for more details
If your loan is for an Access to Higher Education course and you subsequently go on to complete a degree, then you won’t have to pay back your Advanced Learner Loan.

Some careers require you to have a degree or higher level qualification. If you want to return to study but don’t have the right qualifications don’t worry! Our Access to Higher Education courses will get you up to speed. These courses will give you all the skills you need to progress to a wide variety of university-level courses.
The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a one year course, designed for over 19’s who have been out of education and are looking for another opportunity to further their education.
The Diploma is an accepted alternative to A-Levels and is recognised by universities for admission onto a range of degree courses. Former learners studying the Access to Higher Education Course have progressed onto university degree programmes and are enjoying successful careers in nursing, physiotherapy, sports coaching, teaching, emergency services, engineering, business and more.
