This is why we reconsider the use and re-use of certain materials and choose to work with those that gather relevant information for each specific situation. We don’t aim to find a certain language that defines our identity. To the contrary, we are constantly searching for new results as the products of different questions. We’re attracted to the ethics behind material sincerity. We try to find that same honesty in the structure of our projects, in a way that the reading of the architectural elements is as clear and Workingstraightforward.withnatural materials, local craftsmanship and experimenting with alternative construction techniques offers us the opportunity to seek an appropiate architecture for our climate and our socioeconomic reality. We work in the many sides of our profession, seeking to connect and complement every exercise as the construction of our own learning process. Our academic practice is a productive exchange between investigation and production. Interdisciplinarity is what keeps us motivated and constantly searching. We believe that everything complements in the end. The bigger the input, the richer the output. Our vision of architecture is very primitive and essential: primitive for its conceptual relationship to the origin of architecture and essential to evade relations with the unnecessary. We work with matter, transform it and arrange it in different ways to create spaces. We treat light as the element that intensifies and shapes space and the materials that create it. We understand order as the generator, starting with the organization of the projects as the beginning of a Weprocess.constantly seek to integrate the existing natural environment with the building. We transform that environment, enhancing the pre-existing that characterizes it, respecting the natural setting we inhabit. Immersed in the paradox of our being-in-the-world, summarized as “destruct to construct”, we understand that the matter we build with comes from previous destructions.

01. INTERMEDIATE HOUSE
Between the public and the private, the open and closed, the inside and outside, the mobile and the fixed, the light and shadows, the natural and the artificial, the industrial and craftsmanship, between boundaries is the living space of a great Architecturefriend. is a profession that mediates the needs of living with the transformation of matter. Architects become intermediaries in that will to It’spower.interesting how ideas exist in an immaterial, ethereal world, but they manifest themselves in the material, with matter. The constructive process intermediates these antagonistic universes, between trial and error, between expectations and Toreality.stand on the shoulders of giants is to place oneself in the middle of the advances of the past and the development of the future, an inevitable task if we assume that Architecture is the history of Withcontinuity.Kahnwe learned that structural support can become functional support, which is why the entire roof of the house rests on the furniture that makes up the perimeter of the property. This double function is applicable to space, where the social and the private are intermingled according to use. The functional flexibility of the house is adjusted to the interchangeable condition of the ways of living, where the user of the house becomes the architect of these transformations.

With local vernacular constructions we understood that the favorite space in a home is the intermediate space, a setting for receiving and sharing. Uncooked earth, in the form of manually pressed bricks, is piled up on walls, filters and vaults to build that intermediate space, where natural ventilation crosses and the boundaries between interior and exterior are diluted. In the center of a 190 sqm plot, a mango tree intermediates between the two blocks that are physically separated, but are visually connected, achieving a spatial integration from the filter wall at the front to the border wall at the back. A constructed space of 115 sqm, which is transformed by filters, doors and shutters, responds to the existezminimum under a local, subtropical perspective. Finding a middle point between the industrial and craftsmanship is part of the recognition of the available resources, where the balance between the two produces a technological amalgam that generates alternatives to conventional construction techniques. Cutting the compacted earth block in the middle became the constructive strategy of the reinforced vaults that make up the roof. The channels resulting from the cutting of the blocks function as formwork for the reinforcements that receive a fine load of concrete so that they work together. These design criteria and their corresponding materialization, which range from the manufacture of the raw material to the design of the furniture mechanism, reflect the attempt to find the synthesis between the project and its construction.

The 30-cm rammed earth walls hold the weight of the roof, resting in only 20 cm of its width, exploiting the structural qualities of this material. All of the furniture and doors are made of recycled wooden forms used in the concrete slab that covers the office. The library detaches from the walls in order for the light to continue its path, suspending books and paintings, studio’s most precious treasures. If light builds time, and gravity builds space, the atmosphere of Earthbox is built with the sound of jazz, the smell of incense and the flavor of fresh coffee.

Solving the basic equation of materializing dreams through a bounded Budget, we initiated the construction process of our architectural office. The exercise begins with the experimental transformation process of materials, such as earth, Wood and glass, configuring them between two existing trees: a flame tree, that stays outside but framed, and a guavirá tree, that stands in the middle of the space to share our company.

02. CARE CENTER
The Child Care Center is born from a set of intentions directed to create an impact on future Architecturegenerations. as matter, space, light and its integration to nature. Only the essential. Earth, as raw material grouped in walls, draws the floor plan to create the living spaces. This material, which contains primitive and elemental information, linked to our memory and our senses, allows us to experience textures, colors, smells and a set of emotions that enrich perception and learning in early childhood. This way, an introspective, inward-looking construction is created, as an incubator of the very life that takes place there. On the outside, earth volumes hide and protect the interior. On the inside, quite the opposite occurs. Solids build space and assemble the voids. Cross ventilation, green roofs, adequate sunlight, the use of low environmental impact materials, are all considerations that are incorporated into the architectural design to guarantee the proper thermal confort of the users.

The central courtyard, which functions as the children’s play area, becomes a focal point of the ensemble. It is a meeting point for different ages, a floor with various textures and materials, where you learn by playing and you play to learn. This is how a common and ordinary suburban city block corner becomes the center of knowledge, center of learning, sower of the seeds that one day were planted there, and that little by little, the world will witness its fruits.
The Center consists of 4 large spaces: two large classrooms, which are subdivided into 2 each, a dining room and an administrative area. Each space, overturned on both sides to patios, visually communicate with the environment, eliminating the concept of the classroom as a closed space.

The project is the product of an international competition to restore an old construction that was used as a Synagogue at the Hebraic Union of Paraguay. The challenge of any ceremonial space demands a reflection that respects the religious essence and the culture that involves it. Imagining a space of introspection and prayer suggest a creation of silence, where rite becomes the main Afterprotagonist.analyzing the masterplan, we began the design process by locating two prisms, one as a threshold and the other as the holy enclosure. These two volumes converge at the union and they complement each other, structurally and Themorphologically.outercaseworks as a strongbox, controlling the access of the synagogue through metallic doors that protect the interior. This great container breaks down into two pieces. The first piece builds the transition of scale and frames the synagogue’s entry. The second piece, which is bigger, limits the interior space and sets the temple’s presence. The concept of a prism inside the other is fairly simple, creating a cushion between the exterior, wide open and noisy, towards the interior, silent and spiritual.

This separates the roof from the structure, creating a weightlessness sensation and generates different chiaroscuros throughout the Theday. transformation of old constructions belongs to the series of sustainable criteria that must be considered at the beginning of a project that works with preexistences. Rethinking what already exists allows us to present new alternatives without discarding the energy and effort invested in a determined place and time.

All the materials express their true nature. Raw concrete displays strength and sturdiness to represent the temple’s protection. Rusted metal represents resilience, a characteristic of the Jewish community. The wood gives shelter to the ceremonial space, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere, with great acoustics and thermal conditions. Thus, the exterior is the antithesis of the interior, creating a dichotomy between interior – exterior, cold – warm, noise –

All these concepts are included within the new pedagogical renovation. Continuing with this philosophy, we decided to propose a project that meets all the criteria that the school of the future Insteadneeds. of creating a “monoblock”, heavy, aggressive and closed, which in a certain way represents the old and obsolete model of education, the project proposes two longitudinal, permeable and transparent bars, which are adapted to the new educational criteria. Open and permeable, the proposal connects and relates the existing elements that constitute the functional and spatial structures of the school. The architecture of the building expresses its meaning and embodies the values of openness, inclusion, permeability and accessibility. Structural and functional logic, material honesty and spatial quality are the answers offered by this new building.

David and Mary Medd were a couple of English architects who revolutionized school design. The Medds threatened the design of the “overprotection” of children in schools in their 1971 article “Designing Primary Schools” arguing that “education needs to resist pressure from interior space engineers, that all they do is to offer buildings with pure protection and no connection. The sound of the fan, the flickering of the fluorescent do not have any compensation with respect to the sound of the wind, the flickering of natural light and the shade that nature provides”.
