EQUESTRIAN TOUR CORTIJO EL ROSARIO

Cortijo El Rosario offers tourists visiting Nicaragua the opportunity to enjoy a world class horses show, of pure Spanish breed and Lusitanian pure blood, led by riders who have been trained in Alburejos, owned by the recognized rider Alvaro Domecq Romero, who was the founder and director of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art.

Cortijo El Rosario is a majestic property located in the city of Chinandega, where tourists can appreciate beautifully kept tropical gardens, an artificial lake, beautiful mares with their foals while grazing in the field and many species of wild animals, mostly deer, living in complete freedom. The tour begins when tourists disembark at the port of Corinto and are greeted by bilingual guides, Gray Line Tours Nicaragua. Then travel 15 minutes by road to board buses to Cortijo El Rosario, where they will be greeted with a refreshing cocktail typical Nicaraguan drink courtesy of Rum Flor de Caña, prestigious liquor company Nicaragua known worldwide.

Once everyone is ready, equestrian show will begin in main arena from El Cortijo. Here the riders execute various maneuvers used in training everyday of these beautiful specimens.

This show has a duration of about 30 minutes and tourists can buy soft drinks or alcoholic beverages while watching and enjoying the spectacular stallions of the property. Immediately after the show, visitors will be transported in horse-drawn carriages and a restored fire truck from the 1930s into the area of " Picadero" where they will have the opportunity to buy souvenirs in our shop, and learn about the Coen Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to social investment, which will maintain a booth in the center of the store. As you shop here, through the windows of the Picadero, tourists can see beautiful stallions while running around and jumping free. They then pass to enjoy a tasty lunch consisting of a Caballo Bayo buffet style while lunch and enjoy a folk dance. Both will last approximately 1 hour.

After lunch the carriages and fire truck 1930s will be offering optional tours around the property with a minimum charge. Also at this time visitors can take walks in the gardens, or take a tour to the private chapel of the Coen family, where you can see splendid works of art and learn a bit of family history and the origins of El Cortijo.

Another attraction of the tour is a small replica of the train station of Chinandega, where you will learn about the history of the original wagons that are located there and enjoy their interiors. These tours last for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. At the conclusion of these activities tourists have the option of returning to the souvenir´s shop and those who could not buy the first time will have another opportunity to buy handicrafts, tobacco, rum, chocolates, CDs, books, t-shirts, hats, keychains etc. Throughout the stay, tourists can take photos of the property and walk some trails. We will have stations at strategic locations so they can buy soft drinks alcohol drinks.

To finish the stay in the property, the tourists will move in the horsedrawn carriages or in the fire truck restored 1930s, to the stables where the tour began and address buses heated Gray Line again Tours Nicaragua to the port of Corinto.
