THURSDAY Welcome to the Horizon Yachts 2017 Rendezvous A fabulous celebration of owners, guests, and the yachting lifestyle. Over four sunny and breezy Abaco days, the 2017 Horizon Yachts Global Owner Rendezvous went full-speed ahead into fun. We kicked off the event with a welcome reception on the Horizon RP120, where guests toured the yacht and relaxed on the flybridge with Painkillers— one of our favorite boating cocktails!
We moved the party into the marquis for happy hour part two‌ there’s always time for extra cocktails in the Bahamas!

It’s dance time!
After a delicious Bahamian-inspired dinner, the dance floor was crowded with guests getting their groove on well into the night!

FRIDAY All Aboard for Nippers Sit back, relax and take in the aqua-tinted view. Friday we loaded aboard our private ferry destined to Guana Cay, home of the famous Nipper Bar & Restaurant and their orange-colored concoction. Taking part of another Nippers tradition, Horizon hosted a private pig roast for owners and guests, and then kept the party going on the beach with music, beach games, and basking in the sun.
NIPPERS IS THE PERFECT SPOT TO SPEND A FRIDAY IN THE ABACOS!
SATURDAY Fun in the Sun Adventure was on the schedule with three island excursions. On Saturday we headed off to Green Turtle Cay, fishing the Sea of Abacos, and snorkeling at Mermaid Reef. Guests who chose Green Turtle cruised there on board the Horizon E88 motoryacht and arrived for late-morning drinks at the Green Turtle Club before touring the charming, colonial cay, visiting New Plymouth, the Atlantic Beaches and some of the well-known watering holes across the island.
Guests enjoyed lunch at the Bluffs, before embarking on a leisurely cruise back to the Abaco Beach Resort, taking in the splendor of the Abacos.
AN ACTIVE MORNING EARNED THE SNORKELERS AND FISHING GROUPS SOME FRESH CONCH AND BAHAMIAN COCKTAILS AT CRACKER P’S FOR LUNCH
Happy Hour by the Pool As the day began to wind down, we met back up at the resort for a happy hour by the pool with appetizers, Goombay Smashes, live music, and dancing until dark!
SUNDAY Livin’ the Bahamas Life From morning golf right on the beach to our much anticipated Yacht Hop evening. Our last day at the resort donned bright and breezy—an idyllic setting for morning golf on the beach complete with a Horizon flag, located in the water, as a target and golf balls made of fish food…yes, really! Next on the agenda was our traditional Yacht Hop event, this time with a twist: a costumed aft deck decorating contest.
Yacht Hoppin’ in Style Owners showcased their creative sides with costumes from Gilligans Island, President Trump “hiding out” on a yacht, pink flamingos, 70’s Disco fever, and everything in between! Laughter, music and themed food and drinks flowed throughout the afternoon.
A BAHAMAS CELEBRATION OF OUR INCREDIBLE RENDEZVOUS AND THE TIME SPENT TOGETHER!
Beach Bash Under the Stars At dusk Horizon hosted our final event on the island: an Abacos beach bash, where we dined and danced under the stars, crowned winners of the aft deck decorating contest, and paraded around the beach with a Junkanoo band!

What an unforgettable time we had with our Horizon family, illustrating that the island’s slogan definitely holds true…. it really is “better in the Bahamas!”
