AT SACRAMENTO STATE
• Troy Taylor was named the 11th head football coach at Sacramento State on Dec. 17, 2018. • In his first season with the Hornets, he guided the team to a 9-4 overall record and a 7-1 league record which gave the team a share of the Big Sky Conference title for the first time in school history as well as its first NCAA FCS Playoff berth. • For those efforts, he was named the conference coach of the of the year and was the recipient of the Eddie Robinson Award (FCS national coach of the year). • Sacramento State was ranked as high as third in the Football Championship Subdivision and set records for most points, touchdowns and passing yards in school history. • The Hornets had a school record 15 players named all-conference, including a Big Sky-leading seven on the first team. • Quarterback Kevin Thomson was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year and one of four finalists for the Walter Payton Award. • Thomson amassed 3,835 yards of total offense and set the school record by accounting for 39 touchdowns.

AT UTAH
• Served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Utah for 2017-18. • In 2018, the Utes won the Pac-12 Conference South title for the first time in school history and finished the season with a 9-5 overall record and an appearance in the Holiday Bowl. • Utah averaged 28.7 points per game in 2018 and averaged 396.0 yards per game in a balanced attack which featured 186.8 yards rushing and 209.2 yards passing per game. • His offense featured a pair of quarterbacks during the year who combined to completed 61.9 percent of their passes with 15 touchdowns. Seventeen players caught a pass with eight hauling in at least 10. Running back Zack Moss sparked the ground game with 1,096 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. • During his first season with the Utes (2017), his offense featured a second-team all-Pac-12 receiver (Darren Carrington II) and a 1,000-yard rusher (Moss). Taylor’s offense spread the ball around with 16 players catching passes and 11 players rushing from scrimmage. • Utah amassed 413.4 total yards per game and posted a 30-14 win over West Virginia in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.

• Located 15 miles east of Sacramento along Highway 50. • Originated as a gold mining town but boomed in the 1950s with Mather Air Force Base and Aerojet. • Cordova HS alumni include NBC news anchor Lester Holt, MLB players Chris Bosio, Geoff Jenkins and Jerry Manuel, NFL veterans Gerald and Kevin Willhite and Seneca Wallace.
