The postharvest preservation solution
The Product PHILABUSTER® combines the active ingredients imazalil sulfate and pyrimethanil, two fungicides with different modes of action and a high level of efficacy. The active ingredients show synergistic effects against a variety of pathogens and as a result it offers a high-level control of a broad spectrum of postharvest diseases. The product offers as well a preventive, curative as anti-sporulation activity.
The product contains 200 g/l pyrimethanil and 200 g/l imazalil and is formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC).

Dose rates and application methods vary by country depending on the pathogens and disease pressure. Use Recommendations •
For optimal use of the product, it should be applied as soon as possible after harvest but ideally within 24 hours to be able to protect harvest wounds.
•
Always make a premix of PHILABUSTER® by gradually diluting the product 5 times with water under constant stirring. The obtained premix will offer a very stable treatment suspension.
•
Ideally, the treatment water should be stirred all day long.
•
PHILABUSTER® is not compatible with most of the disinfectants specially the one containing chlorine. In case of incompatibility, the concentration of the disinfectant could be an influencing factor.
•
PHILABUSTER® is generally compatible with other fungicides but mixing PHILABUSTER® with other fungicides is only needed in specific cases because of the spectrum and level of efficacy of the product.
•
Residues are also influenced by several factors including treatment time, pH and temperature of the treating solution.
For further information, contact your local service company or a representative of Janssen PMP.
The Mode of Action The biochemical mode of action of the combination product PHILABUSTER® is related to its two active ingredients. Pyrimethanil is an anilinopyrimidine fungicide (Group 9) that interferes with the secretion of enzymes necessary for infection by several postharvest pathogens, while imazalil sulfate is an that
imidazole inhibits

affecting cell wall permeability. As a consequence, PHILABUSTER® is a fungicide with preventive, curative and anti-sporulant activity.
The Spectrum of Activity As citrus fruit is stored and/or transported all over the world, a long lasting activity is essential for a good postharvest product in the citrus fruit segment. Fewer products are available to preserve citrus fruit from decay, therefore it is essential that proper management practices are utilized when using the few remaining products.

Efficacy of PHILABUSTER® PHILABUSTER® is a very effective product which can be applied through a variety of application methods such as dip and drench applications but also the aqueous and wax spray applications. Each of these application methods has its own level of treatment quality which will ultimately influence the effectiveness of the fungicide.

Anti-resistance strategy PHILABUSTER速 has been developped as a tool for anti-resistance management offering two active ingredients with different modes of action against the main pathogens in citrus.
Nevertheless it is advised to use the product in a sustainable way to preserve it on the long term. All products must be applied at full dose rates to limit the risk of resistance. Low residues and under dosing can hasten the development of resistance.
Janssen PMP provides sensitivity monitoring to track any on the resistance development in any of the pack houses. With this tool, it is possible to pick up, in a very early stage, possible issues before they result in an insufficient control under practical circumstances. Based on the results, timely efforts and adaptations of treatment schemes and sanitation measurements can be made to preserve your fruit. Please contact your service company for any further support.

Good Management Practices Good management practices include sanitation, both in the orchard and in the packing house. Sanitation is the first line of defense in decay and fungicide resistance management. A poor sanitation program will undo the positive effects of any fungicide management program.
In the orchard •
Remove inoculum sources of orchard-related pathogens.
•
Do not place bins on muddy orchard soil.
In the packinghouse •
Avoid build-up of inoculum in the drench water by adhering strictly to drench water change schedules.
•
Sanitize water systems, packing lines, storage rooms, and bins.
Key use reasons for PHILABUSTER® •
Superior efficacy against green and blue mold decay
•
Long term activity
•
Preventative, curative and antisporulant effect
•
Essential tool for resistance management in the packing house
•
Widespread establishment of MRLs for Imazalil and Pyrimethanil
•
Flexibility of use in aqueous and wax applications
•
Excellent Return on Investment
