Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) shows carriers and employers that you are a licensed and competent Professional Truck Driver. Operating certain commercial motor vehicles requires specialized skills and knowledge. Class B CDL License is any single vehicle weighing 26,001 pounds or more or towing another vehicle, not in excess of 10,000 pounds, while driving only in the state in which it was issued. Careers that require a Class B CDL include but are not limited to: Local Delivery Driver, Dump Truck Driver and Bus Driver. Included in the course is one hour study skills preparation for the written exam.

STEP ONE: OBTAINING A CDL LEARNER PERMIT

Test Prep for CDL Learner Permit Written Exams:

• General Knowledge

• School Bus

• Passenger

• Air Brakes

• CDL Written Exams

STEP TWO: OBTAINING A CDL LICENSE/CLASS B

Prerequisite: CDL Learner Permit

• 15 Lessons (vehicle provided)

• DMV fee included

• Course work covers inspection,parking and driving of vehicles

• Road test and retake if needed

Prerequisite: Valid NYS Driver’s license

*Free to Bronx residents, ages 18-30. *Free to females of any age from any NYC Borough.

Driver’s License*

New York State residents, ages 16 or over, can apply for a New York driver license. Before you can get a license, you must apply for a learner permit at a DMV office, where you will take the written test. Once you have a learner permit, you must have supervised driving practice and you must take a pre-licensing course or a driver education course before you take your road test.

Included in our Driver’s Course:

• 1-hour study skills preparation for the written exam, as well as prep for written exam for Permit, including practice tests

• Learner’s Permit

• 5-hour required Pre-licensing Course

• 10 driving lessons (vehicle provided)

• Scheduling and taking the road test
