1
ITS CULTURAL OVERLOAD
Abu Dhabi’s culture is awash with fascinating stories and traditions. Get out and meet the locals and share in some of the muchloved pastimes, such as sipping an aromatic Arabic coffee in majlis-style seating with juicy dates as a sidetreat, letting a falcon rest on your arm before watching it set off in all its glory, cheering on the camels as they gallop around the racetracks, and joining in the Ayala folk dance (the UAE’s traditional dance).
2
ITS SENSE OF ADVENTURE
There’s thrills and spills aplenty here. Earn the bragging rights of having braved Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster at 4 Hello Abu Dhabi
Ferarri World Abu Dhabi, bring your favourite childhood memories to life at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi or, if you’re born to swim, you can splash your days away at Yas Waterworld.
3
ITS NATURAL BOUNTY
Free-roaming giraffes, cheetahs and gazelle make Sir Bani Yas Island mesmerising, but its prized jewel, the Arabian oryx is what sets it apart. Continue your quest for nature in the lush sanctuary of Al Ain Oasis – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is home to up to 100 varieties of stunning foliage.
4
ITS ISLAND BLISS
Abu Dhabi is home to much more than desert dunes, with its plethora of islands to explore.
Diving enthusiasts can set off on a pearling adventure on one of the emirate’s oldest pearling hubs, Delma Island. If you’re thinking more white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and lazing on a sunlounger, join the day trippers who flock to glamorous Zaya Nurai Island.
5
ITS STUNNING ARCHITECTURAL WONDERS
With a striking skyline replete with soaring skyscrapers, it may come as no surprise that Abu Dhabi is brimming with architectural marvels. From the world’s first circular skyscraper (the Aldar Headquarters building) to Capital Gate (the emirate’s answer to the Leaning Tower of Pisa), its landmark buildings will inspire the mind.
NEED-TO-KNOW
Top tips to ensure your trip to Abu Dhabi goes smoothly…
GETTING THERE
Located 30km east of the city, Abu Dhabi International Airport serves over 102 destinations in 56 countries, and is home to national carrier Etihad Airways. The airport currently has three passenger terminals with its under-development Midfield Terminal Building (MTB) set to boost the airport’s overall capacity to 45 million passengers a year once in operation. To book a flight or hotel, call dnata Travel on 800 DNATA, or visit dnatatravel.com.

Taxi: Freely available across the city, hail an official silver taxi on the street or book via the TransAD hotline – 600 535353. Ladies have exclusive access to a fleet of women-only pink taxis. Local app-based car service Careem is another option. Bus: A modern fleet of air-conditioned public buses covers the city virtually around the clock. If you’re planning to use buses as a primary mode of
transport, the Hafilat Smart Card is available from numerous accredited sales points. Car hire: All the major brands are present and booking desks are located at the airport, in the city’s malls and at hotels. Don’t forget to bring your valid international driving licence. Ferry: You can hop on a Department of Transport operated ferry to Delma Island, one of the oldest known permanent settlements in the UAE, from Port Mugharaq on the mainland (dot.abudhabi.ae). There are also many operators offering fun boating experiences, including Jalboot Tours ( jalboot.ae) and The Yellow Boats (theyellowboats.com).
CITY SMARTS
Weekends in Abu Dhabi are Friday and Saturday. Show respect for the local (Islamic) culture by dressing modestly and covering up shoulders, décolletage and legs (to the knee) when in public spaces and save the swimwear for the beach or pool. Another point to note: feel free to fall in love with the city, but do avoid public displays of affection – it’s simply not the done thing.

hile the UAE capital may be small in size, it’s big on hospitality, with an increasing number of hotels offering the luxury of choice. An enduringly favourite way to discover the destination is by journeying deep into the desert for an Arabian-style adventure. One of the best places to head to is Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, which is a photographer’s dream, having been ranked the most Instagrammable hotel in the world. Tucked away in the Empty Quarter, the largest uninterrupted body of sand in the world (it’s a 90-minute drive from the city), this majestic resort invites you to dine under the stars, traverse the sands atop a camel and admire glowing sunsets from your private plunge pool. Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa is another coveted spot in a dreamy desert setting. There are great views from each and every room, but we rate the One Bedroom Pool Villa, which wows with its private plunge pool and patio overlooking the rolling dunes. From galloping across the sand at sunrise to catching a falcon show and embarking on a nature walk under the stars, there’s plenty to see and do here, including tasting traditional Emirati dishes at Al Mabeet restaurant. Wildlife fans will be drawn to Sir Bani Yas Island, which is located just off the coast of Jebel Dhanna, around two hours' drive from downtown Abu Dhabi. It is home to one of region’s largest wildlife reserves, the Arabian Wildlife Park, which is a thriving habitat for more than 10,000 animals, including giraffes, gazelle and the prized Arabian oryx. There are three Anantara resorts to stay at: the family-oriented Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara; the tranquil beach getaway of Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort; and the luxuriously rustic Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort, which gives you a front row seat to the free-roaming wildlife. Set off on a Nature and Wildlife Drive in one of the few vehicles allowed on the island, kayak through the 8 Hotels

Moving further into the city you’ll find Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara, which will lure you with its delightfully serene location. With Abu Dhabi’s skyscrapers glittering in the distance, you can balance sightseeing in the city with back-tonature activities, such as kayaking in the mangroves that surround this popular hotel. Admire the tranquil views from your guestroom, get out on the water, or try your hand at an Arabic or Thai cooking class hosted by one of the resident chefs. most coveted is Emirates Palace, which is a landmark in its own right. Grand in every respect, this palatial property has it all, including a prime stretch of private beach, a multitude of restaurants to dine at and suites so big you need a map (or private butler) to navigate your route from bathroom to bed. Keeping up the razzle dazzle factor, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers gets the nod of approval with its understated luxury, swathe of upscale facilities and endless dining options. Head over to the city's highest restaurant, Observation Deck at 300, for an elegant afternoon tea. Another property that takes luxury to new heights is The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, which is famous for its grand rooms and suites, including the world’s highest suspended presidential suite. The three-bedroomed Abu Dhabi Suite offers two floors of jaw-dropping opulence with fantastic views of the
Arabian Gulf and a private spa, movie theatre, and grand drawing room among the spaces in which to unwind. Head to Nation Riviera Beach Club to soak up the rays on the private beach. The Ian Schrager-designed hotel brings a unique boutique style to the emirate with its gloriously stylish yet cosy ambiance, and no less than 198 guestrooms, three signature restaurants and a luxury spa to escape to for some pampering. The architecturally stunning Andaz Capital Gate, Abu Dhabi (situated inside the Capital Gate building, which is known as the leaning tower of Abu Dhabi due to its 18-degree tilt) promises a stand out stay. Browse the on-site gallery, admire the local art woven into each room and unwind on the outdoor pool deck. Conveniently connected to Al Wahda Mall, Grand Millennium Al Wahda is the perfect match for shopping enthusiasts. Contemporary guestrooms (the two-bedroom apartments are a great option for families), a rooftop pool and modern Arabic flavours at Sky Lounge Thirty One are just a taster. The retail therapy doesn't end there, however, as a stay at Rosewood Abu Dhabi connects you directly to the designer stores of The Galleria. The Manor Club room experience is every bit as grand as it sounds, offering access to the Executive Lounge, which includes an artisan breakfast and signature Rosewood butler service. 14 Hotels
Also in the vicinity is the ultramodern, high-end playground that is Four Seasons Hotel at Al Maryah Island. Rooms evoke understated luxury with jewelled tones adding a pop of colour, floor-to-ceiling windows and vast spa-like bathrooms designed to wow. The Deluxe Waterfront Rooms with their blue-grey palette perfectly frame the expansive views. We also rate the third-floor pool deck, both for its view and its day-to-night transformation from leisure locale to chill-out lounge. For fun and entertainment around the clock, there’s no better place to stay than Yas Island. Straddling the Formula One racetrack at Yas Marina Circuit, W Abu Dhabi - Yas Island is a magnet for the social set. It’s a coveted place to stay during the annual Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, although the property is a top choice for racing fans all year round due to its location in the middle of all the action. It’s certainly the place to party, with its sunrise and sunset rituals, seven restaurants and bars and showstopping interiors. Staying on Yas Island, Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi - Yas Island earns its place on the list of leading resorts with its unblinkered view of Yas Links golf course and the sea. The calming vibe is carried through to the hotel rooms and

Complement a mind-nourishing itinerary with a stay at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, a delightful seaside retreat built to resemble a grand Mediterranean villa, albeit one with a nine-kilometre-long beach, collection of landscaped pools, and seven bars and restaurants. The hotel also has one of largest suites in the UAE; spanning two whole floors, the Royal Suite features a Steinway grand piano, billiards room, mini-cinema, and private pool. The legendary St. Regis butler service comes as standard. A short 10-minute walk takes you to Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas, the UAE’s take on The Hamptons where beach chic is the design motif and living
art comes in the form of beautifully framed sea views from the guestrooms. The ultra-secluded Beach Villas open up to a private stretch of sandy beach. Get up off that sun lounger and book a Turkish hammam session at Zen spa, before having sundowners on the rooftop terrace at Turtle Bay Bar & Grill, which is a favourite among the city’s culinary cognoscenti. Meanwhile, Rixos Saadiyat Island is a sublimely sprawling oriental palace where guests can pootle around its expansive grounds on complimentary bicycles and make a splash in the chilled swimming pools (the best way in is via the giant water slide) before escaping for some pampering at the spa. melting pot of different cultures, it’s natural that Abu Dhabi serves up fantastic flavours from across the globe. And what better way to experience a culture than diving head first into its sumptuous cuisine? For a true feast of authentic regional flavours, begin your culinary journey at Mijana at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. Specialising in contemporary Arabic cuisine, observe the silhouettes of the chefs through the frosted glass that surrounds the kitchen area as they prepare delicious Lebanese and regional dishes, such as kibbeh, shish tawook (tender grilled chicken skewers) and indulgent sweets including umm ali. Live music and traditional tea complete the experience. Next, hit the road and head deep into the desert to Arabian Nights Village, where Al Maqam Restaurant lays on a delectable spread of local delicacies. Get comfortable on the traditional majlis-style seating and tuck in while soaking up the breathtaking views of the dunes, all in true Bedouin fashion. 18 Restaurants
If you’re in the mood for seafood, be sure to check out Fishmarket at InterContinental Abu Dhabi, which is a firm favourite on the scene. Simply pick from the fresh catch of the day, and have it cooked to your liking. At the same hotel, you’ll also find Circo, the award-winning Italian transplant from New York. Its deceptively simple slowcooked veal and beef bolognese with tagliatelle packs a hearty punch and the squid ink calamari risotto is a must-try. New on the scene, Marco’s New York Italian is a stylish bistro that commands attention. Located within Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, it is headed by renowned chef and restaurateur Marco Pierre White, with divine dishes ranging from fresh pasta, to homemade pizza and succulent ribs. Don’t leave without tasting the dessert classic that is Marco’s best-selling New York style cheesecake. Yet another top rated Italian restaurant is Parmigiana at Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, which offers a contemporary take on traditional staples, such as bruschetta, pasta, pizza and, of course, parmigiana.
Unwind in the casual setting overlooking the corniche. Never been to France? Pas de problème. Bord Eau at Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi will transport you to the city of light with lavish interiors reminiscent of a grand château. The plates are everything French cuisine should be; try the gratinated onion soup and double up on mains with an impeccably executed Chateaubriand. French bistro food in a contemporary setting awaits at Bentley Bistro & Bar at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island. Steak tartare and beef Bourguignon are our top picks, whatever the season. If you’re a sucker for Greek food, Eat Greek Kouzina, also at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, is sure to impress. The moussaka, soutzoukakia meatballs, octopus with eggplant mousse and kleftiko lamb are all must-tries. Heading southeast, Martabaan by Hemant Oberoi leads the pack when it comes to innovative Indian cuisine,
giving spicy delights an innovative and contemporary twist. We rate the varqui crab, dum ki nalli, and masala chai crème brûlée, which will satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Three more favourites on our radar, in no particular order, are the awardwinning Ushna at The Souk at Qaryat Al Beri for the gosht khada masala, Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor at Nation Galleria where the Telangana lobster chingari always tickles our fancy, and Angar at W Abu Dhabi - Yas Island for the set Curry Club menu, featuring the exquisite dish of baby eggplant and jalapeños in a peanut coconut gravy. Sticking with Asian fare, the popular 99 Sushi Bar at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island is the brainchild of Spanish siblings. But with dishes like tiger prawn tempure, sea bass usuzukuri and lobster maki, you can’t argue it’s Japanese through and through. Meanwhile, authentic Thai fare is always guaranteed at Pachaylen at
Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara. A traditional kim player sets the tone for a night of vibrant flavours while you soak up the calming views of the protected mangroves. Meat eaters are well catered for in Abu Dhabi, with many a plush wood-panelled steakhouse. A winter favourite is the upmarket BBQ Al Qasr at Emirates Palace. Seafront gazebos set the scene while the menu of prime American and Aussie beef will satisfy those cravings. The restaurant also does a nice line in seafood. If celebrity status steaks are your thing, social media sensation Salt Bae has his own venue in The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, and while he’s rarely in residence, the Nusr-Et team know their stuff. Less star-studded but with a menu that has Australian master Kobe beef as a highlight, The Forge at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal is worth a splurge. The crab cake and carnicero burger with wagyu beef and

truffle, are a delicious alternative to a classic steak dinner. South American cuisine is still very much in favour and the modern Peruvian fare at Coya Abu Dhabi has won its place in the heart of many a local diner. Reserve the private 12-seat dining room for a special occasion and share the gourmet fun. Tip: make sure you try the savoury churros de papa, wagyu tartare tacos and corn served three ways. Two decades after launching in Paris, foodie icon Buddha-Bar Beach found a home here at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi. Boho chic vibes abound, but there is still the same focus on delivering a high-quality Far Eastern dining experience. The signature Buddha-Bar chicken salad is 20 Restaurants
a robust, zingy affair but don’t ignore the awesome seafood on offer – the ceviche is a clear winner. Gastro bites have found their place on Saadiyat Island at the Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas, where Hamilton’s Gastropub draws a social crowd, ably aided by its bestselling metre-long lamb, chicken or veal sausage platters served with caramelised onions. The black Mediterranean mussels pot is another standout choice. Another cool hangout, and the subject of a gazillion Instagram posts, is Black Tap at Yas Mall. The place to get your freakshake fix, we say opt for the pink, blue and yellow froufrou cotton candy shake and other lurid concoctions. Its all-American burger and falafel burger
are both superb, although the sides may tip you over the edge – crispy Brussels sprouts anyone? Expect to queue. Pop-ups, food trucks and homegrown concepts are also picking up speed. On the busy waterfront Corniche, the A’l Bahar leisure development has a slew of quick eat options. We particularly like Eat Sol’s burgers and Cupagahwa for a warming cup of karak chai. For a suits-all spread in a five-star setting, Rosewater at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers has a brilliant buffet serving a variety of global flavours, with live cooking stations so you can watch the chefs in action. Mix a dash of thrill with your culinary journey and join The St. Regis Abu Dhabi for its renowned Helipad Sunset Supper. This exclusive experience is limited to just 20 guests who get to enjoy a sumptuous meal of local delicacies while being suspended 255 metres up in the air. The sensational views makes the experience one for the memory bank. One thing will be made clear while you’re on vacation here, brunches are a thing in the UAE. One of the best comes courtesy of iconic upscale Chinese brand, Hakkasan Abu Dhabi at Emirates Palace. It ups the Friday brunch ante with a bevy of star dishes, including the applewood-smoked Peking duck with caviar starter, foie gras and crab xia long bao, and an almost-too-pretty-to-eat chicken floss savoury triangle.

s you stroll around the inspiring setting of Al Hosn, the original urban block of the city, it is easy to imagine how the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan envisioned it to be a globally-renowned cultural hub back in 1981, when the space was originally built. Standing proudly at the heart of the city, the site is home to a cluster of historical sites, including the Cultural Foundation, which has swung open its doors following a 10-year renovation, and is now home to a 900-seat theatre and vast children’s library. What’s more, the space regularly plays host to creative workshops on topics such as the art of calligraphy, alongside an impressive line-up of exhibitions and performances. Also based at the site is Qasr Al Hosn, the former home of the emirate’s ruling Al Nahyan family. Originally a coral stone watchtower, the historical landmark was transformed into a museum in 2018 and today showcases a stunning array of artefacts and archival materials dating to 6,000 BCE. Make the presidential palace, Qasr Al Watan, your next stop. Opened to the public in March 2019, this cultural landmark tells the story of the UAE and offers a first-hand peek behind
the veil of UAE governance. From the Great Hall and House of Knowledge to a library housing 50,000 prized tomes and the Spirit of Collaboration chamber (where UAE Cabinet meetings take place), it offers a fascinating insight. If walking barefoot on the world’s longest hand-knotted carpet while marvelling at one of the largest (Swarovski-encrusted) crystal chandeliers on the planet appeals, then Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is sure to impress. Named after the founding father of the UAE, the mosque is an architectural marvel capped with 82 gleaming white domes and bordered by four soaring minarets. Immerse yourself in the spirit of Islam and wander through the enormous prayer halls, which can accommodate up to 40,000 worshippers. Luring those keen to explore the city’s vibrant heritage and artistic heart, Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island is a heavyweight on the art and culture scene, home to a growing corpus of works spanning thousands of years of human history, as well as a prized permanent collection supplemented by rotating loans from around the world. Those with kids in tow can check out the new Children’s Museum

(for ages 6-12), which offers familyfocused exhibitions and interactive workshops. It’s all wrapped up inside an architectural work of art: Jean Nouvel’s futuristic floating silver dome. The island is also home to Manarat Al Saadiyat, a multi-gallery and performance space that hosts the annual Abu Dhabi Art fair. Hold fire for a few more years and the arts playbook will add a new chapter with the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum upping the ante. There’s a growing cadre of independent galleries expanding the scene, too. Tucked away in the port area, Warehouse 421 is an advocate for emerging talent within the local creative community while Etihad Modern Art Gallery is where you can pick up an arty souvenir and grab an aromatic cup of coffee in the hip café. Music connoisseurs will want to time their trip to coincide with the hugely popular annual Abu Dhabi Classics concert series. Featuring world-class artists and orchestras, it’ll make your heart sing. A coastal community, Abu Dhabi’s early wealth was fuelled not by oil, but by the pearl diving industry. Step back in time and learn about this incredibly challenging profession on the Abu
Dhabi Pearl Journey – a 90-minute dhow cruise through the city’s eastern mangroves. Part history lesson, part nature trip, you can even shuck your own oyster in search of a pearlescent prize. Back on dry land, amid the shifting sands of the surrounding desert, a trip to the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to get a closer look at these fearsome and majestic hunting birds that are inextricably linked to the region. We also recommend taking a walk around the traditional barasti huts at Abu Dhabi Heritage Village. Here, you’ll discover fascinating exhibits, see local artisans in action and get a potted history of the emirate. If time permits, a road trip to Abu Dhabi’s second city of Al Ain is a must. Home to no less than five UNESCOlisted cultural sites, the ‘garden city’ is an oasis-rich gem set amid the rocky backdrop of Jebel Hafeet, and can date human civilisation to 2,500 BCE. While you’re there, be sure to pay a trip to Al Ain Palace Museum, which is the former home of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Built in 1937, it is typical of the historical buildings of the UAE and presents another rare opportunity to tour once-private rooms.

Boasting an impressive collection of traditional clothing, incense, spices, henna, oud and dallah (Arabian coffee pots), it is a true reflection of the local culture. The souk is also home to Mubdia Village, a section dedicated exclusively to women who wish to shop at their own leisure. Embrace the sights and sounds of the traditional Arabian souk, in a setting that has a distinctly Venetian twist, at The Souk at Qaryat Al Beri. This modern expression of the traditional marketplace is where you can get your hands on everything from traditional dates to silk shawls and precious scents. Stop for a bite at one of the waterfront restaurants and watch the boats sail past. For a more contemporary vibe, The Souk at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi is a treasure trove of Arabian memorabilia and mementoes. The space pays homage to a bygone era with its ornate wood detailing and Arabesque accents. Cast your eyes upwards to admire the stunning slatted ceiling, which bounces the sun’s rays off the blue mosaic-tiled floor. If you want to get under the skin of the local style scene, you’ll be pleased to learn that the concept boutique scene is hotting up in the capital with a small yet mighty collection of independent retailers selling cool and collectable items. Avant-garde meets street-casual style at Sauce in Marina Mall, where designer labels (think Alexander Wang, Mary Katrantzou and Tata Naka) rub shoulders with bespoke pieces by up-and-coming designers and their limited-edition collaborations. Another popular luxury shopping spot among the emirate’s style set is Etoile “La boutique”, founded by designer and entrepreneur Ingie Chalhoub in 2005. It’s the perfect place to get your hands
on the latest trends, discover new labels and browse pieces from top designers. Check out the boutique at The Galleria Al Maryah Island. The brainchild of Emirati entrepreneur Wejdan BinJassim Al Mutairi, it’s the place to go for elegant dresses, abayas and luxe accessories. Speaking of which, if designer labels are your kryptonite, the aforementioned The Galleria Al Maryah Island is sure to rob you of your self-control. Its impressive line-up of luxury shopping and dining options recently received a boost with the September 2019 expansion bringing an additional 250 lifestyle brands to the mix, including 250,000 square feet of entertainment
and over 70 new dining options. We say give in and go try on some of the wearable riches from the many luxury fashion, watch and jewellery brands, including Dior, Fendi, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Even dining here is a stylish occasion, with Abu Dhabi outposts of upscale eateries including La Petite Maison and Coya. hether it’s traversing the sand dunes in a four-wheel drive, trekking through the desert atop a camel or watching falcons soar in all their glory to new heights, the UAE capital has a lot to offer, and Arabian Adventures is the pick of a number of locally-based companies that offer fun desert tours and experiences. The Desert Rose Dinner Safari is a must-do in Abu Dhabi. You’ll be whisked away in a four-wheel drive across the dunes, stop at a camel farm for a camel ride followed by a spot of sandboarding, before journeying on to the Bedouin-style camp. Here, you can tuck into an Arabic style BBQ buffet, try henna hand painting and enjoy traditional entertainment before heading back to your hotel. But why stay on the ground when you can experience the beauty of the desert up in the air. Falcon Aviation offers luxury helicopter tours for a bird’seye view of the city, while Seawings operates scenic seaplane flights that take off and land back at Yas Marina. A family-friendly alternative to taking flight is a spin on any of the 42 airconditioned capsules of Marina Eye Ferris wheel. There’s a VIP option for those after a premium viewing point. Back on land, the smooth surface of the desert sands holds a wondrous mass of wildlife. Home to many exotic species, including a growing Arabian sand cat community and the endangered dama gazelle, Al Ain Zoo nurtures more than over 4,000 animals, from white lions to giraffes. A smaller scale yet equally enchanting experience can be had at Emirates Park Zoo. The first private zoo in the country, it welcomes you with eight distinctive zones including snake alley, a flamingo park and wildlife walk, along with educational experiences such as its popular Breakfast With The Parrots. If you’ve had your fair share of sand activities, the water beckons in the eastern mangroves, a protected nature reserve where a two-hour Sea Hawk kayaking excursion is both educational and fun. Plus, it’s definitely one nontheme park related trip that will make your kids squeal. If you’re up for a

If that gives you an appetite for more, then Abu Dhabi Dhow Cruise organises two-hour

Alternatively, glam it up at Saadiyat Beach Club, with its 650-square-metre pool, or head further out of the city to hang with the party people at Blue Marlin – an all-day Friday brunch meets beach meets international DJ affair. Keen golfers will love the city’s world-class courses and the chance to test themselves on the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, which is where the annual Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship (a European PGA 32 Activities

Meanwhile, a beachfront course is yours to play at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club on Saadiyat Island. The captivating course, designed by Gary Player, features three saltwater lakes and 60 bunkers. You may even spot dolphins frolicking in the sea. Lastly, a challenging all-sand 18 holes (and browns instead of greens) make Al Ghazal Golf Club a unique (yet often frustrating) course to play.
